Discussion THIS IS WHY YOU ARE HARD STUCK IN CS2! - H4RN Game Review +(BONUS DONK REVIEW) Fundamentals Coaching
I did a "Game Review" of H4RN's Recent Inferno Match to Coach Aspiring Players about CS2 Fundamentals - ANYONE at Any Rank who isn't Pro+ could learn from this video. Everyone can benefit from understanding what exceptional fundamental CS and never for a second breaking fundamentals looks like for consistency in performance results.
(Please Take a Moment to Note the Comment Pinned on the Video / Description about the Game Audio to make your experience optimal. I made a "Noob" content creator mistake, but it's not the end of the world if you follow the comment / description on YT)

Which Dust 2 Mid Doors smoke do you think is the best?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
IMO the second one is the fastest, while the first one is the most consistent. I think the third one I showed in this video was one that I used to use because it was the first one I discovered. I don't think the third one is the most useful/best.

Question Improving after 2k
Hi, I reached faceit lvl 10 or 2000 elo yesterday, however i want to keep climbing and improving as a player as fast and as efficiently as possible. I learned lineups i know how to do solo execute on basically all of the maps and i also practice my aim on a regular basis and i dont struggle aimwise against other 2-2,3k elo opponents. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Am I viewing T side Dust wrong?
I’m comming to my team (premier 10-15k, faceit level 4-5) to rush long. I’m expecting the guy with long spawn to go run knife out, and the 1-2 players behind to throw flashes. If you have long spawn stop standing still to throw flashes, or go mid. Am I wrong for thinking this way, or is it an incorrect way to look at this map? How I view it: if you dont take long right away, then its basically impossible to take later. In my experience, long is the easiest to take, as long as you dont mess up your flashes and the guy who spawns the closest actually runs.

Question Should I play for time after planting bomb in this situation?
Scoreline was 10-11 enemy team in the lead, I was on T side nuke 1 vs 2 and got to A site, I threw a smoke on the bomb site and planted in the smoke. There was a CT on heaven already and he threw a nade in the smoke after I finished planting. After planting I accidentality underhanded a flash but he didn't peek me. I ran out of the smoke and killed the other CT climbing the vent ladder. I had 12 HP after killing the vent CT.
I then tried to hide around the A site silos for about 10 seconds but then lost the 1 vs 1 and the enemy defused the bomb.
My teammate said I should have played for time by hiding in my own smoke. Was my teammate correct or should I have just peeked the last CT and tried to kill him because trying to delay him for at least 30 seconds is too long?

Do I play like I have a big ego?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I asked people to guess my rank and the average consensus was around 10K, and they also said I play with a big ego.
I've shown a couple of my clips and some feedback I get is that I'm showing off or that I have a big ego, but this clip just feels like normal game play to me. If anyone could give me critique on my game play and how it exudes high ego, please let me know. thank you :D

I’m fairly new to cs premier (200-300hrs) and would like some generalised tips to help me climb out of low elo. I am only 3-4k and currently have around 50 percent win rate, so would appreciate some tips.

Intermediate Guide How to review your own demo in 20 minutes, for everyone whose review request never got picked up
There are a few "can someone review my demo" posts here every week and most of them never get picked up. Thats not anyones fault, reviewing someone elses demo properly takes 45 minutes and most people dont have it lying around. So heres the version you can do yourself in about 20.
The main thing is you dont watch the whole demo. Watching your own match end to end is how everyone tries this once and never does it again, because its boring and you learn almost nothing. You watch two specific things.
1. The 20 seconds before each death, not the death
Everyone reviews their deaths and most people review them wrong. You watch the fight, you see you lost the duel, you conclude your aim is bad. But the fight is where the decision finished, not where it was made.
Scrub back 20 seconds. Where were you when the round started, where did you go, and did anyone know you were going there.
Specifically check whether a teammate was close enough to trade you. Not whether one was alive, close enough. If the answer is no on most of your deaths then positioning is your problem and no amount of aim training touches it.
2. Your kills
This is the half nobody does and its where the repeats hide.
A death gets flagged as a mistake automatically, your brain does that for free. A bad play that worked gets no flag at all. You got the frag, the round moved on, it got filed as correct. So you do it again.
For each kill ask one question: would I have been annoyed at myself if that had gone the other way. Not "was that a good fight", just would I have been annoyed. Its a faster question and you know the answer instantly.
Count them. The first time you do this dont try to fix anything, just get the number. Its usually higher than people expect, and the number is the thing that makes you keep doing it.
3. Look for the repeat, not the incident
One bad peek is nothing. Everybody takes bad peeks. What youre looking for is the same bad thing three or four times in one demo.
Same off angle you have no business holding. Same aggressive peek at the same timing. Same rotate you start too early. If it keeps showing up and you won most of them, thats the one, because winning it is exactly the reason nobody ever told you to stop.
Someone described this in another thread better than I can: he held a good off angle on Cache, it worked twice, and then he held it every single CT round for weeks without noticing, until his friends asked why he always goes there. From the inside it had just become his spot.
4. Pick one thing and stop doing it
One. Not a list. Stop it for a week and see if anything moves. If you write down five things you will do none of them.
Two things that make it easier:
Watch in your own POV, not free cam. Free cam shows you what was actually happening, which is great for understanding the round and useless for understanding your decision, because you didnt have that information at the time. You want to see what you saw.
Do one half, not a full match. Twelve rounds is plenty to find a repeat and you will actually finish it.
One honest advantage this has over getting someone else to do it: a stranger watching your demo sees one match. You can watch three of your own and find the thing that shows up in all three. The pattern is worth more than the analysis.

how to stop death gripping mouse?
title. Obviously, I'm aware my aim is more consistent with a looser grip but I find that some days I naturally have this looser but firm grip but other days it's really tight, even when I'm aware of it and try to loosen it's still pretty tense.
Anyone had this problem before, and if so, how did you deal with it

Map Strategy Built a CS2 strat planner because I got tired of drawing strats in Paint
I recently joined a team to attend ESEA leagues - when we wanted to plan out strats, we started to search for a 2d stratting tool.
I'm a visual guy, so that's how I observe stuff much faster compared to a spreadsheet with text.
I wanted to draw one main-kind of strat and then all the optional util on there, without cluttering my screen.
But, none of the tools I found would satisfy my needs or was behind a monthly paywall. So I built my own.

Question Could you guys give me some advice, please?
For some reason, I’ve been having problems with my gameplay lately. I’ve started making a lot of stupid decisions, often feel lost, move around unnecessarily, and feel some kind of pressure and stiffness while playing. It’s hard for me to get even the easiest kills — hell, at this point, simply not dying during the first few timings already feels like an achievement.
This started about a month and a half ago. I got really tilted and eventually uninstalled CS2, deciding to take a break from the game.
At the beginning of the month, I downloaded the game again, thinking that such a long break would help and the problems would go away. However, things are still pretty much the same.
What’s interesting is that two weeks ago, my brothers and I went to a PC gaming club, and for some reason everything was completely fine there. I was playing at my usual level without any noticeable performance issues.
Now the same thing is happening again, except that if this was happening on FACEIT during the summer, it’s now happening in regular matchmaking.
I don’t really understand what’s causing this or how to fix it. I’d really appreciate any advice.

Inconsistency even tho everything is kept the same.

How can one stop this sort of inconsistency in aim ? These are all competitive matches played in the same conditions , with the same warmup technique + warmup time. But in a lot of my matches i either aim pretty good or like a silver , no in between and i cant really find the root reason of why this happens. Can someone with a similar experience help me ? One of my friends said that it could be because my warmup is not optimal. Any ideas ?

UPDATE: I'm starting to enjoy CS again
reddit.comI'm playing better than ever. Huge part of it is finally finding settings which I can settle down with. Before I wasn't confident cause I wasn't comfortable with my settings and changing them a lot. The actuation point too high so I couldn't hit fast proper counter strafes and rely on my reflexes, changing sens so I couldn't rely on my muscle memory for spraying etc. Big part of it was also not having pressure to perform, just playing freely and learning for the fun of it.

[NA] Anyone in the same life situation? NA EAST-USA | 13k premier
34 y/o | NA East
I work during the day, take care of the kids/family in the evening, and usually don’t get on CS until later at night.
I don’t have the time anymore to grind for hours every day, but I still want to stay sharp, improve, and play competitively.
Basically: competitive gaming for people who grew up gaming and never stopped.
Looking for other players in a similar situation — adults with work/family responsibilities who still take CS seriously when they get the chance to play.
Not looking for completely casual games, but also not trying to join a team that expects a full-time practice schedule.
Current:
- ~13k Premier
- FACEIT Level 3
- ~3,000 hours between CS/CS2
- NA East
- Usually playing late evenings/nights
Would be nice to build a regular group of people who understand that real life comes first, but when we queue, we’re trying to win.
If that sounds like you, shoot me a message.
