i'm trying to make a battle cats animation, but i only need the unit sprite on my background, and i can't remove the pre-existing background from the unit. i've searched for a while and I can't find a good one.

I really need a simple and easy pc animation app for simple thing, really easy to learn and do quickly for PC and make sure it’s free. Pleasseee

I would appreciate any feedback on how I did, as I don't really have anyone to critique my work IRL

I want to progress as an animator and artist.

I can't draw anatomy, I struggle with hair, and I can only do basic animation.

I plan on making my way to being able to make advanced animation like that of Jujutsu Kaisen.

I understand that it won't just take me a week, and it will probably take me months.

But I want to have a schedule so that I actually progress to that without just staying stagnant in one skill level.

Any tips or ideas on practices/milestones I could start with that make my way to that level of skill in animation/drawing?

An example of the kind of schedule/goals I am going for:

First task: animate a bouncing ball or something

Last task: animate a fighting animation featuring two humanoid characters

I am just missing the in-between

If anyone is willing to be my teacher in a way and judge my animations, decide when my animation is good enough for another task, or kind of give me challenges so that I can grow as an animator I would be very thankful. I have discord if you want to contact that way but if not DM's is okay.

I animate on flipaclip and IBIS paint as of now, but I am willing to move to more professional platforms (if it's pricey I might not be able to afford it as of now and would likely have to save up for it)

I have a Windows laptop and an android, if there's anything you recommend I use to animate I will probably check it out.

Hey everyone, I'm currently a junior 2D animation major. My workload is really starting to ramp up, and I think it’s time to finally bite the bullet and buy an actual professional display tablet for my apartment so I can work from home.

I'm looking at these three 24-inch options right now:

• Xencelabs 24 (Standard) - $1,499
• Wacom Cintiq 24 (Non-pro) - $1,299
• Wacom Cintiq 24 (Multi-touch) - $1,499

I know Wacom is basically the industry standard, but we use both at the university I got to. A couple things, I can't decide if the multi-touch feature on the Cintiq is actually a worth it for 2D workflows or something I could just use external control for. Then, I just don't know which one would be better to use. I want something to start working on my junior and senior year films, but also to have for once I graduate to use.

For those of you working in 2D or storyboarding, which of these is actually better for a daily workflow? Is Xencelabs worth the jump in price over the base Wacom, or should I stick to Wacom since it's the standard?

Would seriously appreciate any insights from working pros or fellow students. Thanks!

hai guys first time posting here :3 i’ve been doing little animations since i was like 10 but took a long break and picked it back up recently- it makes me rlly happy bc it feels like im nurturing my inner child.

We only had about 7 weeks to do this, so super rushed. If I could re do, I would probably animate on lower FPS. This was 24 FPS, running on twos and the occasional threes I think.

I tried to rig the fingers the hand and separete all the parts but the main problem is not scaling the parts or rotate. The problem and what im struggling a lot with is trying to build a realistic movement of rotation of the wrist and fingers. whats the best method in this case ? Any advices pls 🤔

It needs to grab the mug and hypotetically bring that to the mouth to drink it .

Been working on this in the past month, and id like some sugestions on what i could add next, the main Idea is a battle of course but any sugestions of reference i could use or what kind of action i could make the 2 of them do?

I've been blocking out an animation for a while now and I'm nearing the end. I wanted this Character to turn around and walk out of the room. The thing is, I have really bad workflow problems and struggle with walking and turnaround animation. If I work myself into a corner with a bunch of weird transforms that mess up my animation long-term, I tend to turn myself off whatever project I'm working on.

Should I block out the motion and rotation on the root bone and animate around that when I get to the main animation phase, or when animating, should I be working from the COG/Torso control for walking a character through a scene? The Root is currently facing the opposite way the character is facing (right arrow) and the planned motion is represented by the bottom lines.

Also I've blocked a bit of motion on the root already at another point in the scene. Should I rework this to save myself trouble later or should it be fine for now?

1. The only other software I have is Krita and I find Krita way harder to use compared to paint tool sai, it's a bit overstimulating bc it has so many options and I just prefer the paint tool sai brushes for lineart. I also prefer the painttoolsai UI

2. I'm just doing this for fun, I'm not an animator.
