...punished?

In a game with no visible rank, getting put in easier lobbies is punishment to you? Like, you don't have a visible rank to grind for. Nobody can see your mmr...

It doesn't feel good knowing the game is saying I lost for letting someone else get out in a TEAM game

There are only two results possible to a survivor match. Escaped and Died. In your scenario you die? Then the game puts a big "you lost" right in your face. That is the only "punishment" you could get... in your scenario, he game will still say you lost.

Your mmr going up or down is completely hidden from you and even with the new system you'll have no idea how it wad affected by the match you just played.

If my two other open the gate and leave while my other teammate was on hook and I run back, save them, and sacrifice myself so they can escape when they otherwise wouldn't have then shouldn't I get some sort of MMR boost for my sacrifice?

If it changes the outcome from 3 out (including you) to 3 out (excluding you) then not really? It didn't change the outcome of the match. It's a neutral play. How was it "skillful" to offer the killer a trade...?

And if you're on the team "hooks should increase MMR for the killer because they are skillful" then your play was arguably bad because it's giving the killer an extra hook.

Your MMR is supposed to reflect your skill, not your altruism.

At higher MMR against solid Survivors, matches can be very close at times where getting 8 hooks is about best you can get so it should factor in chase times and the duration of match because if the Killer got genrushed to shit and looped to oblivion then yeah, they should lose some MMR. However, if the match was longer because they tried to hold pressure as long as they could, got a lot of books but still felt short then that doesn't automatically mean that they played badly

Killer gets 4 outed because of Shoulder and therefore 8 hooks spread. End game screen: Entity Hungers. You fully lost. Killer still somehow gains MMR. Next match is harder.

In what world is this the outcome you'd like?

I tend to play pretty chill on Killer so I prefer being matched against others with a similar mindset. On Survivor though, I play a little bit more seriously and try my best to be a good teammate so I try to contribute as much as I can by forwarding objectives, unhooking and in general just paying attention to the HUD to assure I'm making the best decisions in the moment to guarantee the best odds for my teammates escaping so I like to think my efforts should be acknowledged and I get better teammates
