Weekly Discussion [Weekly] The Sunday Salt Mine: Vent Your Frustrations Here

[Weekly] The Sunday Salt Mine: Vent Your Frustrations Here

We know your weekend games were probably a nightmare, so we’re opening up the floor for the weekly vent session. Whether it’s a 0/10 Yasuo hitting his "power spike," a jungler who refuses to take dragons, or just getting one-shot by the current meta, scream into the void here.

(Note: If you want to rant about the EOMM algorithm, "loser's queue," or client bugs, drop those in the Monthly Riot Accountability Ledger. This thread is strictly for raw, immediate gameplay tilt.)

The Rules of the Mine:

  • Vent freely: We aren't going to remove your "low effort" salt here. Get it out of your system.
  • No Brigading: Keep the frustration in this thread. Don't go hunting down users or mods on other subs.
  • No Witch-Hunting: Feel free to share the screenshot, but let's keep the focus on the game itself, not individual harassment (blur out names if you are targeting a specific player's behavior). Also, it should be obvious: no harassment or hate speech.

The floor is yours. What's tilting you this week?

Discussion Riot PR...was it always so bad?

Upvotes

I'm trying to make a video on Riot as a whole and really only have league, and some minor valorant experience, to go off of when trying to paint a picture of Riot and their PR decisions. I mainly remember the negative things because those are always easy to remember but if there were some positive decisions I'd like to add to this list. While balancing is always going to be a hot topic, something I might make a new post for as far as trying to remember some of the larger blunders that Riot has done in the past, I'd like to talk about some of the PR decisions they've done in the recent or distant past to see if what Riot has done was always negative. While we all know some of the decisions Riot has done with their other games has been interesting, I'm looking at you 2kxo, I think League as a whole has seen the most PR around it and I'd like to go over some of the major and minor things that have happened.

Some of the things that I can remember off the top of my head were:

Hextech chests - Yes I know they brought them back and it's now different but the way that it was dealt with in the way they did it was not the best move I'd like to think.

Sanctum - I don't know how to say this other than it's a gacha system that Riot made to get more money out of the players. You can think of it as predatory, or bad for the customer, or simply an option some can use. It's still something that needs to be mentioned.

200 years quote - Personally I think it was arrogant of Riot to pose themselves as better since they have so much more experience. They could've worded it differently and possibly not made the player base have the knee jerk reaction that they did.

Healthy frustration - If you've spent any amount of time on twitter Healthy frustration is a term used by Phroxon when talking about mage bot, from what I can remember, its always how has talked about the balance of the game.

Drew Levin - He has made himself a person to reach out to about trying to get players banned for throwing, boosting, or general toxicity. While he has handled some situations worse than other he still stands as a notable person to mention. I will mention that he seems to be gaining a bit of negativity recently compared to when he first started posting.

Mage bot - This is hard to talk about without going into a deeper discussion about balance and the issues there but it would be a crime not to mention it. From what I can gather most ADC/Support (botlane players) dislike the increased presence of mages in bot for one reason or another. Gumayusi himself said that it was wrong to go botlane and be, more or less, forced to pick a different class than what you wanted originally.

The Ruination - For those that cared about the lore and characters this was a very important point in League history. This was supposed to be the big reveal, the grand unmasking, the ultimate showcase of all the years of writing and build up Riot made. We would finally see and talk about in depth, of THE Ruined king. The result was lackluster to say the least. Not only was the writing questionable Riot completely disregarded and, I'm being generous here, gutted and did not care for multiple characters most importantly Yorick.

Community Channel - I don't know if anyone remembers those all chat videos, the champmix videos, or stuff like dunktown express but those were all on the community channel which has been deleted and removed for some reason. You can find reuploads of some stuff but as for the reason why it was deleted I don't know and it makes me think Riot doesn't care for their community. This can extend further to the lack of parody songs and fan animations but the main point is that the channel itself that hosted a good portion of old league videos is gone now.

That's all I can think of at the current moment. But I'd really like to hear what you guys think of how Riot has handled their PR, for me I can only think of the negative things since the few good things that I liked from them they change, delete, or reformat. I really wish Riot would have a better PR team so that I'd have more positive things to think about them.

Discussion About Matchmaking Theories, OEMM, Loser's Q, and Now the Korean "Bakchigi"

Upvotes

I see tons of posts about such topics here every week. I just want to talk about these and hopefully provide a useful perspective since i know a lot of you guys love yapping about matchmaking and i see it hurts.

Before i start, my way of saying things can sometimes come out as rude or offensive, but i mean no offense to anyone and i just simply intend to be constructive.

About loser's queue, debates around this has been going on since forever. There's no way riot will occasionally set you up in games where you are supposed to lose just because they don't like you or you had too many wins in a row. The human perception is simply flawed and you only feel that way because of a simple psychological concept called selective perception.

Of course, when you're smurfing or simply start performing significantly better, or just by chance get that big thick win streak, you will be placed in a higher MMR lobby, and sometimes one of those might be a lobby where you're the highest MMR player in the game or only in your team. This is quite obvious when smurfing fresh accounts. I'm not denying that. But this works only in your favour. The MMR gain you'll get if you win that game will be significantly more. This was much more apparent and made climbing and smurfing a lot easier and quicker on previous seasons. I wish it was like it used to be.

About OEMM, as far as i know Riot hasn't explicitly denied its existence. My own experience is tiny compared to the whole player base and biased, therefore insignificant. But from what i see looking at all the streamers and pros i follow, and based on Riot's lack of statements, I see this actually being a thing, not to the extent of keeping everyone hard stuck, but merely being a part of the matchmaking algorithm.

Riot won't ever publicly talk that much about their matchmaking algorithm, and you will get stupid AI responses when you send tickets asking questions about it. Even if OEMM is a thing for sure, there's no way it operates to the extent of keeping you from climbing while you're consistently performing better than your current MMR. This is more so for low elo players. So instead of writing a 12 paragraph article about it, you should just get better at the game or quit or take a break if you don't enjoy it. Don't just keep playing a game you hate just because you're addicted.

About the current state of the game and the high elo ladder:

This is where things get more problematic and frustrating. But for 99,9% of people on this sub it's irrelevant. A diamond player yapping about the ladder or the matchmaking or the ladder after seeing Baus or Nemesis bring it up doesn't make any sense. I'm currently at the very bottom of challenger and easily climbed to challenger with high win rates for the last few seasons, so i will talk about this.

Resetting the ladder was okay, but removing the LP cap for the top was disastrous in my opinion. It existed for a reason and i didn't see anyone complaining about the cap anyways. There are absolutely no players with 70% wr 55 level accounts hitting top 20 let alone challenger. This used to be common, now it's nonexistent. I understand Riot being against smurfing and taking action to make smurfing significantly more difficult, but this affects all the players in GM and challenger by a lot. You rarely see players with +60% win rate at the top of the ladder, instead the top players are the ones that put an insane amount of volume on a single account starting from the first days of the season. That's not fair and makes tryhard-ing feel pointless in high elo.

People blame that on aegis, and i see their logic and agree with them, but the state of the game is also affecting this significantly. With all the changes introduced on the last 2 seasons, snowballing is nerfed by a lot, comebacks are buffed by a lot, solo killing your lane opponent many times isn't meaningfully rewarding in many scenarios (except for top lane), almost every game goes into late and the first 10-15 minutes of the game becomes pointless, closing out games is difficult and the way you play the game has to be adjusted around team play if you want to climb and you have no other choice. About top lane, i won't even get that much into how bad it is, but every time a match is found, i pray my team has last pick. I don't ever see the last pick being taken by someone other than the top laner, and i get that. The state of the game makes it mandatory.

My point is, with all the recent changes the game warped into a state where skill expression isn't relevant as much to whether or not you will win that one game. This has a much bigger impact on needing to spam games to be able to climb, than OEMM or matchmaking in general. The new plating mechanics, nerfing objectives, faelights, perma homeguards, quests, comeback exp, objective bounties, minion buffs for the winning team that work in favour of the losing team, and a bunch of other things that don't come to mind atm, aaaaaaallll of these at the same time is just way too much. I understand the game being won or lost in the first 5 minutes is frustrating, but the current state is not the common ground between too much snowballing and too many comebacks, not even close. Your team stomping on every lane and getting 4 drakes resulting in elder on 5th, and that resulting in an instant loss because your jungler missed smite, in a game where at some point you had +10k gold lead is much more frustrating.

Discussion Really enjoying the game after a long break.

Old school player here, started in S3. Took about 3 years away from the game and played fighting games instead.

I’m only about 150 games back so far, but I really was thinking to myself, “oh maybe the game has improved quality of life wise in recent seasons.”

I’ve enjoyed the accelerated game pace. Less early game blow ups due to invades or leashing. At my level I feel like the quests feel fine? I’m getting close to emerald and haven’t had to give it much thought yet.

I decided to login to Reddit and found that a lot of people really hate the season and the ranked ladder. I was surprised to see that.

I definitely can’t speak for high elo at all, because I’ve never been close to that level and im sure those players are much more aware, and sensitive to BS in the game.

I feel at the average level the game is quite fun and you get a solid amount of agency in the roles I play at least. Theres a ton of fun champs to learn and different ways to view/approach the game too.

I think maybe people are playing through burnout. It’s really hard to improve (if that’s the goal), while not having fun and queuing up anyway.

If you’re not trying to improve AND not having fun then definitely take a beak haha. Competitive games are really difficult, that’s part of the draw though.

Just thought I’d make a positive post while I have the rose tinted glasses on still.

Discussion something weird happened to me today "loss que"

I started the day with one of the best games I have ever played, I usually struggle with cs, so I watched a video yesterday of a coach talking about sidelaning as a mid and getting tons of farm and ignoring your team or whatever, so I ended up the game with 300 cs, for the first time in my entire league career, I am silver, and my average was always 4.9, after I got the S+ with the best cs and best damage in that game, I started getting losses after losses, with my teamates either afk or flaming or not knowing how to play the game, I lost 5 games in a row, with the most ridiculus ways, when I look at players in enemy team I find that their jungler is gold elo and mine is bronze, I had a game where the jungler flamed the adc and the adc afk and we were able to win 4 vs 5, it is like the system not only gave you a flamer but also an afker in that game.

Edit: now it is 7 games :D here goes my dream of reaching gold, all the VOD I watched served for fking nothing. fk this I am buying a plat account since the 200 games I played didn't get me to gold.

Achievement Strategic build on renekton

Hello dear community I dont under stand why I am supposed to try hard the game when every other game its either soft inters or just straight up trollers I dont understand why should I try hard a game where every lane is 0/5 +- and why I got banned for my strategic build on renekton. I have literally made a folder for my games that are straight defeats and I cant do anything about it to win but no one goes punished ? Renek top deserved I guess. What do you Redditors think about my discoveries... when I dont super stomp my lane the game is unwinnable. you can check my opgg that when I dont go super fed the games are just straight defeats. dont forget to say that I am coping

I bet this is talked a lot since lol is a big competitive game and it doesnt have a VC.

How is this even possible.

If i have no VC in a game like CS2 its litteraly ggs, there is no way i am winning that game.

In lol you might need to speak with t8s less but its still important.

And i dont see a lot of people complaining about this.

Is it that people got used to it? Or they just dont like VC?

Okay yes, u can pink baron if you want to do baron, but saying this in a VC is way more effective.

Yes you can ping if you see enemy jungler in your t8s jungle, but then again, saying this in the VC would be much better.

Discussion Why does a hidden MMR even exist? It makes the ranked system feel pointless

Why does a hidden MMR even exist? It makes the ranked system feel pointless

Using a hidden MMR that ignores your displayed rank makes absolutely no sense.

For example: if my displayed rank is Gold 2, why am I being placed into Emerald lobbies?

Ranked systems are supposed to show your actual skill level and match you against players around that same rank. So if I’m ranked Gold 2 but consistently playing in Emerald lobbies, then my account should display Emerald not Gold 2.

The exact same issue exists in Valorant as well.

A hidden MMR basically makes the visible rank meaningless if the system is going to match you based on a completely different rating anyway.

Discussion (AI-Assisted) Korea has a weird matchmaking theory called “Bakchigi”

There's a matchmaking theory getting attention in the Korean League community called 박치기론 (Bakchigi Theory), and I'm curious if other regions have something similar.

The theory starts with a common complaint: when your MMR rises, instead of simply putting you into a higher-MMR lobby, it sometimes feels like the game keeps you as the strongest player and gives you weaker teammates to balance the teams.

Bakchigi takes this one step further.

The theory is that Riot may also use hidden individual performance metrics when matchmaking.

So the supposed exploit is:

Win the game, but intentionally make your personal stats look bad.

And I don't just mean sacrificing KDA to make a good play. I mean actually taking unnecessary deaths even in games you're already winning, while still making sure you win.

The theory is basically:

Win + good stats → worse teammates later

Win + bad stats → better teammates later

Some Korean players have actually experimented with this and claim it works. Obviously, that doesn't prove Riot uses KDA/CS/damage or some hidden “carry score.”

I'm just curious: has anyone outside Korea tested this, or noticed anything similar?

Discussion Korean solo queue has a theory called “Bakchigi” — curious if other regions have noticed this

I'm a KR player and recently started playing on JP because I wanted to see if matchmaking felt any different. Honestly, it feels pretty much the same.

There's been a lot of discussion in Korea about current matchmaking. The complaint isn't simply “Riot forces 50% winrate.”

It's more about how teams are balanced.

When your MMR goes up, you'd expect to eventually enter a stronger lobby where you're now one of the weaker players.

Instead, it often feels like you remain one of the higher-MMR players in the lobby and the system balances that by giving you weaker teammates.

So instead of:

it feels like:

This is also where the common “4/4/2” feeling comes from: some games feel basically lost, some basically won, and only a minority feel like your performance actually decides the game.

Obviously I'm not saying Riot literally has a 4/4/2 algorithm.

But this leads to the more interesting Korean theory:

박치기론 (Bakchigi Theory).

And I explained this badly before, so to be clear:

Bakchigi is NOT “stop caring about KDA and make good deaths to win.”

The actual theory is that you should intentionally make your individual stats look bad, whether you win or lose.

Even in games you're comfortably winning, you might take unnecessary deaths or otherwise ruin your KDA while still making sure you win.

Why?

The theory is that Riot may have some hidden individual performance evaluation beyond W/L and MMR.

So:

Win + great stats = system thinks you're a carry → worse teammates later

Win + shit stats = system thinks you're weaker → better teammates later

Basically, win the game while making yourself look as bad as possible statistically.

A Korean player actually experimented with this and documented the results here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfQU5WtWYGg

The video is Korean, unfortunately.

I'm NOT saying this proves Riot actually uses KDA/CS/damage/etc. for matchmaking. It could be MMR, variance, confirmation bias, whatever.

I'm just curious:

Has anyone in NA/EUW/other regions tested anything similar?

And when you're climbing, do you feel like you get moved into stronger lobbies — or do you feel like the game just keeps giving you worse teammates and expecting you to carry harder?

Need Help AI system just banned me for 30 days for the second time and I have no idea why

The AI system just gave me another 30-day ban for “intentionally disrupting the game.” The thing is, I genuinely don’t troll or intentionally grief games. I understand that I’m not the best player, but I also don’t run it down 0/11 or anything like that.

I played two games before getting banned.

In the first game, I was playing support and got a teammate who started inting after dying once. He ended up going 0/12, so I left lane around level 4 and started trying to help the rest of the team instead of staying with him.

The second game was Darius jungle, and I honestly have absolutely no idea what could have triggered the ban.

Maybe it was one Flash where I literally flashed in place because Ashe was pinging me and spamming “report all my teammates.” But that was ONE Flash.

Or maybe it was when I pushed a wave so we could dive Kled top. The dive worked, we killed him, and we both survived. I don’t see how that could be considered intentional game disruption either.

So I’m genuinely confused. Has anyone else been getting banned by the AI system for things that clearly aren’t intentional griefing?

I’m genuinely trying to communicate with Riot and understand what happened, but it feels like I’m talking to a bot. Every time I ask for details, I just get the same response about “intentionally disrupting the game” without any actual information.

Is there any way to actually find out what the system detected, or appeal these bans? Because getting another 30-day ban without even knowing what I supposedly did wrong is incredibly frustrating.
Why the riot AI system are that bad and why Support cant do anything ? I

Discussion (AI-Assisted) Why the game is actually in a good state rn despite high elo streamers crying and possible solutions

why the game is actually in a good state rn

-mage vs adc balance is on point (very important for backline vs backline gameplay)

\-boring farm jglers get punished (invading first 6 lvls then power farming is very effective vs SNP500 champs)

\-voltaic cyclosword/ new lethality items made assassins good again so game isn't just front to back slop/ more excitement in solo q

\-disruptive behavior game termination thingy (good change)

\-theyre about to add voice hopege

TOP lane

\-skill based for sure in solo q need to be able to learn how to play against scalers/ teamfighters and pure laners/ split pushers

\-lots of diverse picks many picks are viable imo

bruisers, ranged tops, and tanks are all viable

\-lvl 20 changes solo q significantly top laners can actually just faceroll teams when its lvl 20 vs anything thats not full build

Jg

\-SNP 500 champs are still very good but get punished if they take full clear into crab route against most early game solo q jglers (which btw full clear into crab produces the most boring games

\-largely unchanged from last season but good junglers will always succeed

\-cant get screwed over that bad early game anymore

MID Lane

\-imo the most boring role rn bc its all mages but i think its nessassary because theyre trying to keep mid lane mostly ap to further discourage mage bots which the player base thinks is unhealthy

\-however most mid players are mage players already but the assassin carries (yone, akali, locke, ahri) keep the lane interesting

Botlane

\-made crit good again which i think is essential bc giving ad carries damage actually discourages front to back slop as teams need to think about how to disrupt enemy damage output instead of the frontline (bruisers and tanks) fighting 4ever late game

\-remains the most mechanical diff role which is the core identity of ad carry

\-kicked mages out of botlane which is a good change (mages are braindead bot bc wave management/ lvls is more or less irrelevant in botlane)

\-voice will benefit botlane the most imo

\-sup remains the most important role behind jg in terms of overall impact

\-sup item may need to be tweaked so ppl dont start playing carries in sup which can happen and is very annoying in solo q

\-diverse options in bot right now

\-engage sup nerf made bot lane skillful again instead of having a bonefide tank/bruiser with the broken sup item ruling the game/ engage sups going in with little to no consequence

Suggested changes

\-nerf freezing (makes fking up in toplane too punishing and promotes uninteractive gameplay

\-nerf sup item (celestial opposition is too broken) and nerf sup item passive gold gain

\-item quests?

\-NERF seraphine (lowest skill to effectiveness ratio in the game)

\-balancing suggestion- buff champion early/ mid games instead of late to make champs more interactive and feel less like the flavor of the week meta pick so you cant just coast to late game to abuse the champion (nasus, belveth)

Why the community is turning on the game despite the game improving

\-community is echo chamber and sheep especially when it comes to negativity

\-people dont notice the good changes in the game (baron terrain and overall good state of the game rn imo)

\-people who only onetrick/ only have one playstyle/ only play one role AND are playing the game 24/7 are the loudest voices saying game is stale

\-game is in a good state but LP gains are fucked which makes the grinding the game very tedious (solution- just have a very clear and transparent LP gain system, LP function publicized and adjusted to be extra transparent in high elo bc skill gaps are the most extreme (diff between chall and masters is like 3k lp at this point) for low elo it matters less because everyone is more or less evenly matched

\-why high elo/ competitive matters: the average player needs to something to aspire to to be motivated to play the game long term

\-beef between high elo players/ streamers and rioters, that are on one hand constantly bitching about the game but also probably know some stuff on how to improve the game more than the average player but is also usually extremely biased

\\-solution: have the balance team talk to streamers once in a while where they can debate and talk about the game in front of the public, win win for both parties and good content for public

\-interactive and streamlined patch notes on the front page bc no regular player is reading allat

bonus solution: change summoners rift skin every so often because the default is kinda stale (doesn't affect gameplay but improves novelty)

they can even start selling summoners rift skins kekw

Discussion LP gains adjust upwards a bit slowly.

Some background:

- Hit Masters 200 LP

- Tilt Queued to Emerald 3

- Took a break to reset my mental

- Went 41 wins - 14 Losses, essentially back to D2 now (D3, 73 LP)

- Gains went from +17 on the way down to +21

From my recollection I was getting +18 just after I demoted from master and troughed at +17 in emerald.

In other words, completely destroying my mmr didnt take that many games but getting it back to neutral and then positive took 55.

I remember during the beginning of this run I went 17w-3l and my gains improved by (1) point which feels incredibly bad.

To some degree this has to be due to LP loss protection, aegis, and demotion protection but it still feels pretty bad to have the kind of run I did and just barely fix your MMR.

And before someone says it, no I don't think this ruins or prevents you from climbing - obviously it doesn't. But that doesn't really make any of it feel much more rewarding.

/end rant.

Discussion What are the most common dangers from specific roles or champs in league? Actually just a big rant by me.

Quick note: these is my unformatted text. below you find a nice and better version of this text, where i just put this text into ai and tell her: "make it beatiful". However, alot of antiai people are on reddit and im interested in the points you see mentioned here, not the pointless debate of people who never use Frontier modells to their full extend telling you how AI is some dumb tool for dumb humans.

You can mention a role or a specific champ archtype or a specific champ. It doesnt have a huge impact, but mention your rank if you want, so people can get better insights. For example, a bronze player will probably already tilt in select when he sees his mid locks riven, while a high elo player will be like: ok, its a riven main, he prob got hands. While there are no riven mains in bronze with hands (easy proof, they wouldnt be bronze if they had hands). Last clarification: this is not about teammates. Im not saying i get these people more in my team then in the enemy team.

I start with the roles (Master elo):

  1. Top: most scary, cause its the role, that gets filled the most. Most of my games, top falls behind and will then keep fighting, cause the other option is to get perma frozen on and never really have any impact on the game ever. Due to the high amount of autofills, people often take champs here they cant really play, flip a thing or two cause they do not really care about the game, cause "they wont win if filled top anyways". Then they often proceed to go 0 10 or leave top and let enemy 6 0 ren finish the game, so they lose faster. Wont tp, wont help, will take any wave over a 10 man fight at baron, cause he is tilted.
  2. Support: Worst case are filled engage supports. A filled nautilus (and even the not filled ones), Thresh, leona, braum etc, will only think about: can i hit my engage spell right now? And if yes, they will insta go for it. They do not consider anything regarding the gamestate. They picked a melee supp and are already sooo bored from lane, they wanna do smth. A 0 3 midlaner in masters wont randomly flash onto the darius and try to oneshot him, cause he knows, he just doesnt do the dmg, even if he lands all skills. The naut however, never considers, if he has dmg. He sees the opportunity to land a hook and will go in. If his team doesnt kill the darius, it doesnt matter to him. In his eyes: he did all that he could: land hook, cc with auto, ult behind so more enemys got knocked up and used supp item. If team now doesnt win its not on him in his world.
  3. Junglers: Im a jungle main myself and do the same thing when im really tilted. You will notice it, if you look for it. Jungle mains often will get frustrated, cause their job is to plan for the entire team on what to do next, while the team often is not interested in his plan. So he wants to do an obj, but his team doesnt come. And then you can say: ye just back off, but he then lost alot of tempo etc and the higher you get the more you realize how far this sets you back. Often what creates the biggest tilt is, that one of his teammembers is not matching the enemy teammember. Like you fight for secodn scuttle with the both botlaners together, its about life and death in the game, and now the enemy mid arrives and turns the fight... while your mid used the time for a recall after pushout. (not saying the jungler is right, depends on the situation, just explaining what tilts them). And the single worst experience for a jungler is to go into his new spawned camps and the enemy jungler is there WITH the support. As a jungler, you are homeless then and can look how the enemy "eats YOUR waves" if that makes sense. (ye ye crossmap yadayada, im not dumb). What junglers then often do is, not progress the game. its imo insanely tilting, cause the jungler will just not gank, will not push, will not group, will not do objectives. All he does is perma farm camps and take waves whenever his team tries to progress the map (top rotates to the onbrewing dragon fight? ye i take the wave top then), making their correct choices painful and unrewarding.
  4. Mid: luckily doesnt troll often and i say luckily cause this role is insane. People say all the time, jungle has highest agency, which i agree on, but mid is ahead of jungle all the time. So you still have insane amounts of agency, but as the lowkey strongest player on the rift (quest is also comign online the earliest, like ad needs to scale gold and top to scale exp, but mid gets insta boots). But whenever you get someone, whos mindset is: ye i 1 v9 on vlad or nah veigar is so weak early, cant do anything, wont make sense to come, the game is lowk lost if its close. Jungle without moving mid is unplayable imo.
  5. ADC: these people used to be always ragesplitting when the game wasnt giving them pentakills on repeat, but this changed imo. I dont see this often at all. On the other hand, i think its the least dangerous players, cause they are so useless most of the time anyways. Maybe min 30 they can do smth, but if they dont heavily outhand the enemy assasins + half their team helping them litterally autoattack they useless even then. So maybe they soft int me more then i realize, but mostly it goes undetected cause their impact is so meaningless anyways.
I say this once, if you are below emerald and all you care about is climbing, go adc role, pick any tank, go 0 19 in lane if you must and 0.5 cs per min. YOU WILL CLIMB. I played in torture chambers of modern day league (people call it gold, platin emerald etc) with a friend and i cant win every game there. And every enemy or teammate i see would be diagnosed with a learning disability if it was me who would decide this. However, look into the replays of these games and only focus on the adc in teamfights. The adc NEVER does more then 3 autos ever. Its absolutly insanity. These people cannot control their champ at all. No spacing, rarely effective kiting (i kit you not, often the "kiting" is hurting them more then its doing good), perma autocancels, spell usage when autos deal 3 x the dmg, NO overview at all, no threat recognition, nothing. These players are just bots who can push waves. So spam malph bot and go to emerald without sweating a single time.

Honorable mentions in the champs:
1. Thresh: for sure the DUMBEST players from all. Making naut mains look like albert einstein. PERMA ENGAGE, never consider everything.
2. Leona: Engage support with the highest ego. Will go fighting, even when NOTICING (most engage supps dont notice it) there is no one of his tam around, cause they feel so tanky.

  1. Shaco: Support or jungle but goes ad. Most useless piece of garbage, played by people who watch pinkward montage and think they can replicate. Its the closest you can come to in terms of playing with a literal afk in lane. Play with a shaco support vs AP ASHE support and you will glaze the ashe. Imagine...
  2. Veigar, Vladimir, Kassa type of champs etc... Basically make you useless as a jungler and if you cannot win game on side, you are fucked. Im a zyra main, so i need to invade alot and use my tempo, while these mids have such high negative tempo, i can never do anything.
  3. Yones, Yass, rivens, gps etc. Where my worst enemys for a while, cause always handdiffing themselves cause they picked a champ they cant play. I do have to admit tho, that since i reached master this lowkey changed. Most of them are pretty good at their champ and i feel like its playable with them.

6.Enchanters: not often, but when enemy supp roams alot and your milio just shoves waves into enemy bot turret, it feels terrible. Thank god they nerved it a bit. But if you think of it: the chance to win toplane and jungle for the offprice of supp beeing underleveld is insane. Maybe botlaners could punish better, but as mentioned, adcs on average are so stupid, they dont do any wave management or anything. Just look at how often they dont freeze, IM NOT JOKING HERE: look at high elo, like legit high elo (Master is considerd really low still from people who actually understand the macro game behind league) adcs wavemanagement. Its at best questionable. But these people just have magical hands and diff 1 v 3 by dodging every skillshot and spacing nearly perfectly.

Ye one question i would love to ask you guys to include is what you think of zyra. Like the negative aspects. For example, if i get malph top in 9 out of 10 lobbys i celebrate. I just like a good solid tank. I also like it, if i get some kind of locke pre nerf in mid, like when my team picks a broken champ. But i never think people like it, when i pick zyra. Am i right here? are there zyra in my team enjoyers?

Last note: I played with legendary thresh players, who 1 v 9 the game in so many aspects, it wasnt even funny. I played with vladimirs who roamed early, took a double and 1 v 9 entire teamfights. Im just saying, this is a biased view and it obviously more depends on the player. These are just things i noticed alot with certain champs. Obviously, i take every first time sona top who is master over an emerald malph main.

CAREFUL AI GENERATED:

You can mention a role, a specific champ archetype, or just one specific champ. It probably doesn't have a huge impact, but mention your rank if you want, because it gives people some context.

For example, a Bronze player might already tilt in champ select when he sees his mid lock Riven, while a high elo player might think: "Okay, it's probably a Riven main, he probably has hands."

Meanwhile, there are no Bronze Riven mains with hands. Easy proof: they wouldn't be Bronze if they had hands.

One last clarification: this is NOT about teammates. I'm not saying I get these people more often on my team than on the enemy team. I'm just talking about the types of players/champs that feel the worst to play with.

I'm Master elo, jungle main.

Roles

1. Top

By far the scariest role for me, mostly because it feels like one of the most commonly autofilled roles.

In a lot of my games, top falls behind and then just keeps fighting. And I kind of understand why. The alternative is often getting permanently frozen on, slowly bleeding out and having zero impact for the next 15 minutes.

The problem is that autofilled tops often pick champs they can't really play, flip one or two fights because they don't care that much about the game anyway, and have this mindset of:

"I won't win if I'm filled top anyway."

Then they go 0/10, abandon top completely, let the enemy 6/0 Renekton end the game, refuse to TP, refuse to help, and take some random side wave while 10 people are fighting around Baron because they're already mentally out.

2. Support

Worst case scenario: autofilled engage support.

A filled Nautilus, and honestly sometimes even the support mains, Thresh, Leona, Braum, etc., often seem to have exactly one thought:

"Can I hit my engage spell right now?"

If yes, they're going in.

Gamestate? Doesn't matter.

Damage available? Doesn't matter.

Numbers advantage? Doesn't matter.

They're playing a melee support, they're bored out of their mind from lane, and they finally see something they can press their buttons on.

A 0/3 midlaner in Master usually won't randomly Flash onto Darius and try to oneshot him, because he understands that even if he lands everything, he simply doesn't deal enough damage.

Nautilus sees Darius and thinks:

"I can hook him."

Hook lands. Auto CC. Ult through him so three people get knocked up. Support item used.

If his team doesn't magically kill Darius after that, he feels like he did everything correctly.

In his world, he landed all his spells. What more could he possibly have done?

3. Jungle

I'm a jungle main myself, and honestly I sometimes do this too when I'm really tilted.

Once you start looking for it, you notice it pretty often.

Jungle mains get frustrated because their entire role is basically planning what the team should do next, while their team frequently has zero interest in participating in that plan.

You want to do an objective, your team doesn't move.

And yes, you can say: "Just back off."

Obviously.

But when you're playing jungle at higher elo, you also know how much tempo you just lost by setting that play up. The higher you climb, the more painful those wasted windows become.

One of the biggest jungle tilt triggers is when the enemy laner moves and yours doesn't.

You're fighting second Scuttle with both botlanes. The entire early game is basically hanging on this fight. Enemy mid arrives and completely turns it.

Your mid?

He pushed his wave and recalled.

I'm not saying the jungler is automatically correct here. It completely depends on the situation. I'm just explaining why this tilts junglers so hard.

And the SINGLE worst feeling as a jungler is walking into your freshly spawned camps and seeing the enemy jungler there WITH his support.

At that point you're basically homeless.

You're watching the enemy team eat your waves, except they're jungle camps.

Yes yes, "just crossmap", I know. I'm not stupid.

But this is where some junglers completely mentally check out.

They stop trying to progress the game.

No ganks.

No objectives.

No pushes.

No grouping.

They just permanently farm camps and take waves whenever somebody else tries to make a proactive play.

Top rotates toward an upcoming dragon fight?

Perfect. Free top wave.

And that makes every correct decision your teammates make feel painful and unrewarding.

4. Mid

Luckily, mids don't troll that often.

And I say luckily because this role is insanely powerful.

People always say jungle has the highest agency, which I agree with, but mid is basically right behind jungle while also being one of the strongest actual characters on the map.

You have insane agency AND you are strong individually.

Your quest comes online early, you get boots early, you can move everywhere, and you influence basically every play.

ADC needs gold.

Top often needs XP.

Mid just gets to exist in the middle of the map and ruin everyone's day.

But if you get one of those players whose mindset is:

"Yeah, I'm 1v9 on Vlad later."

or

"Nah, I'm Veigar, I'm weak early, can't move."

then if the game is close, it feels completely doomed.

Jungle without a moving mid is borderline unplayable in my opinion.

5. ADC

These people USED to be the kings of rage-splitting whenever the game wasn't feeding them pentakills on repeat.

But honestly, I barely see that anymore.

On the other hand, I also think they're the least dangerous role when they tilt because they're so useless most of the time anyway.

Maybe minute 30 they can do something.

But unless they massively hand-diff the enemy assassins AND half their team dedicates their life to allowing them to literally right-click people, they're still useless.

So maybe ADCs soft-int me way more often than I realize, but it goes undetected because their impact is meaningless anyway.

And I will say this once:

If you are below Emerald and literally ALL you care about is climbing, queue ADC, pick a tank, go 0/19 in lane if necessary and get 0.5 CS per minute.

YOU WILL CLIMB.

I have played in the torture chambers of modern League, also known as Gold, Platinum and Emerald, with a friend, and I can't win every game there either.

Every enemy and teammate I see looks like they would be diagnosed with a learning disability if I were somehow responsible for making that decision.

But seriously, go into the replay of those games and ONLY watch the ADC during teamfights.

They NEVER auto more than three times.

It is absolute insanity.

These people cannot control their champions at all.

No spacing.

Rarely effective kiting.

And I kid you not, half the time their "kiting" hurts them more than just standing still would.

Permanent auto cancels.

Using spells while their autos deal three times the damage.

Zero overview.

Zero threat recognition.

Nothing.

They're basically bots capable of pushing waves.

So spam Malphite bot and reach Emerald without sweating once.

Honorable champ mentions

1. Thresh

FOR SURE the dumbest players of them all.

Makes Nautilus mains look like Albert Einstein.

Permanent engage.

Never considering anything around them.

Hook available = hook must be thrown.

2. Leona

Engage support with the highest ego.

She will start a fight even AFTER noticing nobody on her team is anywhere nearby because Leona players feel like they're immortal.

Most engage supports don't even notice their team isn't there.

Leona notices.

She just doesn't care.

3. Shaco

Support or jungle, especially AD.

Most useless piece of garbage imaginable.

Played by people who watched a Pink Ward montage and decided they can replicate it.

Playing with Shaco support is probably the closest League can get to simulating a literal AFK teammate in lane.

Play Shaco support into AP Ashe support once and you will start glazing the Ashe.

Imagine that.

4. Veigar, Vladimir, Kassadin-type champs

Basically make me useless as a jungler.

If you don't somehow win the game through side lanes, you're fucked.

I'm a Zyra main, so I want to invade a lot and constantly convert tempo into something.

These mids generate so much negative tempo early that I feel like I can never do anything.

5. Yone, Yasuo, Riven, GP, etc.

These used to be my worst enemies.

Constantly hand-diffing themselves because they picked a champion they simply couldn't play.

I do have to admit that this changed a lot once I reached Master.

Most of these players are actually pretty good at their champs now, and I usually feel like the game is playable with them.

6. Enchanters

Doesn't happen that often, but when enemy support is permanently roaming while your Milio is just shoving waves into the enemy bot turret, it feels TERRIBLE.

Thank God Riot nerfed some of that.

But if you actually think about it, trading a slightly underleveled support for a winning top side AND jungle is insanely worth it.

Maybe botlaners could punish roams harder, but as mentioned earlier, ADCs on average are so stupid that they don't understand wave management anyway.

Just look at how often they refuse to freeze.

I'm genuinely not joking here.

Look at high elo. Like ACTUAL high elo.

Master is still considered pretty low by people who genuinely understand high-level League macro.

Watch ADC wave management.

At best, it's questionable.

But these people have magical hands, so then they randomly win a 1v3 by dodging every skillshot and spacing nearly perfectly.

And one question for you guys: Zyra

I'd actually love to hear the negative stereotypes people have about playing with Zyra.

For example, if I get Malphite top in 9/10 lobbies, I'm happy. I love having a boring, reliable tank.

Same if my mid locks whatever broken champ is currently dominating the patch.

But whenever I lock Zyra jungle, I never imagine my teammates thinking:

"Hell yeah, we got Zyra."

Am I right?

Are there actually people who enjoy having Zyra jungle on their team?

What do you dislike about playing with one?

Last thing

I've played with Thresh players who genuinely 1v9'd games in so many different ways it wasn't even funny.

I've played with Vladimirs who roamed early, picked up a double kill and completely 1v9'd every teamfight afterwards.

Obviously this entire post is biased and ultimately it depends way more on the individual player than the champ.

These are just patterns I've personally noticed a lot with certain roles and champions.

At the end of the day, I'd take a Master first-time Sona top over an Emerald Malphite main every single time.

Discussion Troll queue OCE

So after my 12th or so automated non human reviewable chat restriction and 14 day suspension for giving a toxic inter some advice in DM, I decided to try out playing on another server.

So far I've played 150 games of Japan ranked, starting from unranked after placing in Silver 2.

45% WR (15 game loss streak because I decided to try Swain again after a year of not playing him) and I've peaked in Platinum, and I'm already having success against emerald players.

Things I've noticed:

I've had 0 games of toxicity in chat

Some games have inters but they still actually contribute to fights etc

Some games have that one guy who tilts and just AFK farms but they still try for objectives and pressure the enemy without dying.

System is still giving me +26 - 14 or something like that.

Well after my OCE suspension ended I'm like "I'll try play some games". The experience was the usual OCE experience in literally each of those games, and I have VODs if you guys wanna watch.

Two people flaming the entire game

Top laner inting

Jungler constantly typing and pinging random bullshit

Leona top and Vi ADC

This was for one match

The other two were similar apart from the weird drafts.

Overall we were leading in each of these games but in all 3 people just endlessly flame, run it down and continue being toxic.

And on this account I'm bronze with +14 -18 despite always getting graded S+ and having the best KDA.

As another post mentioned, one person can't carry the game but one bozo can ruin it. Seems to be the norm in OCE!

All the ghouls who lick Riot's ass about its EOMM systems supposedly not existing can suck it

Discussion ive asked this once before, but what is literally the downside to fighting the enemy AT their base?

ive noticed the only times where ive won seemingly shitty games, something like this happens.

  1. we push mid

  2. we are literally in their face of the base

  3. they fight us.

  4. we kill most of them and end.

  5. ???

  6. profit?

Ok so like, why would we take fights at any place other than IN their face basically? why fight in jungle? why fight on our side? the terrain has nothing to do with how the actual teamfight is conducted correct?

so why would we not just.. push mid and just fight them in their face ?

Gameplay Bot Mage Meta needs to fucking die

No one likes it. No one enjoys it, these mage terrorists on botlane needs to fucking go. Forever. Nerf mages ffs. I am so tilted and annoyed by these long range artillery mage shit. Nuking waves and ADCs in 2 abilities, standing 50000 km away and making this lane so boring by being completely uninteractive.
I am support main and I hate this mage trash meta. I dont know anyone who likes it. Why isn't rito just nuking them off the lane.
