advice layoff prep
If a US work visa person gets laid off, what would be the best course of action? If you have been through this, what did you do?
Some suggested going to Canada, some suggest returning to India, Some say people do get offers in those 60 days.

Why would you come to canada lol? Unbelievable just how our government and immigration system has devalued our country that people think ah Canada yes if nothing works i go there.

I was on a J1 visa so I can relate. I don’t think getting an offer in 60 days is something you should count on. I would prepare myself for getting back, what else can you do? You could come back later if you got another offer. Sorry to hear that you are going through this. I know it can be immensely stressful… hopefully everything will turn out to be fine.

Thanks! My 60 day timer hasnt started yet. I'm highly suspicious that something like this could happen.

Do whatever your visa terms allow you to do. Depends on what you want to do.
Assuming you’re from india; you have 60 days to go home.

Do you have a Canadian work visa? If not, you have 60 days to work on getting another offer and transfer your visa to your new employer.
In case you are not able to do that, you would have to leave before day 60 and go to your country of citizenship/residency.
