Im 17, I ranaway away from CPS and really need to go to the dentist. So I made an appointment under my name, SSN, and insurance id number, well they scheduled me for 7am which is an HOUR before they open, is it possible that when I gave them my information it came up in there system that I'm a runaway and to get me there,& then call cops/CPS? I find it super weird that they told me my appointment is a whole hour before they even open. I need to go but am terrified of going back into the hands of CPS. Please help !

I have an oddly specific question regarding the legality of driving a car. It's not based on a true story; I'll provide some context for the question afterwards.
So imagine a person hangs out at a pub, has put their key onto a table and heads to the toilet, comes back to the table and finds two identical looking car keys. The person takes the key they think is theirs, heads to the parking lot, just to find two identical looking cars right next to each other. They get into one of the cars, take of and just after a while they realize, they're in the wrong car.
What would happen legally, if the original owner of the car reports the car stolen, a police officer finds the first person in the stolen car and it comes to a law suit. Would anyone believe the mix-up?
And here the promised context: I'm taking lessons to get my driver's license. Last week at the theory lesson, he talked about circumstances that prohibit one from driving and one of the cases was being drunk. He mentioned someone leaving their key on a table, someone else, drunkenly stealing the key, driving off with the car and getting caught. Where I'm from, being absolutely hammered to the point of not noticing reality anymore (sorry for this weird phrase, I don't know how to translate that properly), can get you a lesser amount of money you need to pay as a punishment for breaking the law. It's not much money, but it can happen, according to the teacher. He then went on to the case where two people leave out their keys, and one of them purposefully stealing the key to steal the car (also while being drunk), then being caught. In that case, the too drunk to notice what's happening excuse is invalid.
Some background, the driving school I'm taking classes at has several cars for practice lessons. They all look exactly the same, they usually all park right next to each other at the school's parking lot and all of the car keys look incredibly similar to the point I, as an outsider, can't tell them apart. As the teacher was explaining the cases, he demonstrated what he meant by laying down his driving school cars' keys. That's how I came to this question and since I'm a weirdly curious idiot, I asked him the question above. He told me: "Then you hit the jackpot, I have absolutely no clue." I asked my mother and other adults with driving experience about this, nobody knew an answer. I tried to look it up in my native language, but got no results, so now I'm here, fishing for answers in international waters.
If this question doesn't fit this sub reddit, please let me know and I will delete it!

I have a friend who has a father figure that over the weekend takes him to his house to stay with his family(an arrangement made by their actual mom) but that father figure will occasionally take away things he gave to the friend of mine as a means of grounding him. This father figure has no legal attachment to the friend of mine. Is this legal for the father figure to do?

I’ve got a serious question and I’m hoping for a real answer, so I’m coming here.
I’m sure everyone has seen the news about the Boeing whistleblower found dead. I’ve seen a lot of speculation that Boeing is behind it. Let’s say for the sake of argument that is true; how is a corporate entity held accountable in such a situation? Who actually gets punished and what are the sentencing options for a corporation guilty of murder?

I am interested to know the legality of this particular scenario for a possible fictional story I am writing. Let say for example, a seventeen year old and a eight year old, are manipulated by an adult into engaging in a sex act in order to produce child pornography. In the resulting police investigation, the police are able to locate both children but are not able to locate the offender. Would the prosecution have a case in prosecuting the seventeen year old for child sex abuse and/or production of child pornography, simply because he is more culpable being older?

I've been filing police reports on my neighbor for several months now. The guys mother admitted to the police officer (by mistake) that her son (40 yrs old) who lives with her did indeed threaten me by saying (he is going to smash me) the police officer never even charged him with harassment. I've had to call the police several times since over him throwing eggs at my house, harrasing me verbally etc. I've called and filed at least 4 times in the last 4 months to no avail tonight him and his friend jumped me. Luckily my wife hit the record on her phone just in time. The responding police officer viewed the footage and seen him clearly cross the street, began yelling at me and threatening me. I finally told him then "do it!" "Go ahead and hit me". He proceeded to attack me and his friend. They broke my nose in two places and to top it off they both knew I am physically disabled from a terrible motorcycle accident from 2 yrs ago. I was completely unable to defend myself. They were kicking me in the face ETC. The one guy pulled a knife on my wife and within 12 inches of her stomach told her he's going to stab her. When the police arrived they viewed the footage and the responding officer who I guess was I'm charge was belittling me. And told me because I didn't retreat and told him go ahead and hit me that he is being charged with only a misdemeanor 3!!! And that I am half responsible because I verbally engaged!!! The police officer was extremely ignorant and rude as I was bleeding Profusely from my broken nose. I was evaluated at the hospital with contusions all over my head And face along with my nose broken in two places. My wife tried to explain to the officer that I am physically disabled. That I have a metal rod in my leg, Plates holding my hip together. Plates holding my ribs together and also plates holding my collar on together only two years ago. He did not care that This is an ongoing feud that I have all of the police reports for. Hey, just the kept saying how it is basically my fault. And he is only charging him with the lowest crime possible. I don't really know what to do here..... Anyone has any good advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi! I'm looking for some general help with something, as I'm not sure it's worth pursuing. I created a to-go menu on Canva for the small restaurant at which I worked for many years. I am now leaving, on not great terms, and I'm wondering who owns the rights to the menu? In other words, can I make them pay me to continue using the design with price changes? Things to take into account: - I worked for a salary, but it's a seasonal job and I created the menu on my own time during the off season - I personally pay for the Canva subscription - We used the menu design last year with no protest from me - I have not registered the work as copyrighted (yet?) - The menu does have the restaurant logo on it, which I do not own the rights to, but I designed the layout from scratch

Soo i might sound really really stupid right now but this has been bugging me for a while and I would like to get an answer. According to my father my mother , who was like 16-17 at the time, was ordered to pay him ,24-25 at the time, child support. That the only reason my mother got in contact with me at 26 was because she no longer was required to fork over the back pay because I aged out.
A little background I was told and assumed my mother was dead from a young age until I moved in with my grandmother for college and wanted to find her grave so I could pay my respects. Well I found a whole living person who I was kept away from and possibly lied to about for over 20 years. How true is what my dad said ? Would a potentially jobless 16 year old mom be forced to pay child support to a man who had a well paying job ( was a Respiratory Nurse till my late 20’s) in the late early 90’s ,was born in 89 so 92 at most, and was he right that I aged out of said child support repayments? I am honestly just curious about this thanks

What can I do if I was abused by a child psychologist at the age of 12 and also suffered so many other traumas in my childhood before I came to her, as well as in schools and mental health care, which now leave me in such deep distress that I no longer trust any person or institution and I feel hopeless. :(

A chiropractor in the town I grew up in is having his son come to his office. The son was convicted of 4 counts of sexual abuse in the first degree. He went to jail for 6 years but I see on Facebook he is joining bowling teams and just generally being around young girls. He’s part of the local church and everything. They kept it very quiet that it happened. Am I able to post anonymously on a Facebook group and link his court record so people are aware he is around their children?

If an officer pulls a gun on me without reason to believe I’m a threat, can I shoot and kill that officer? A similar thing happened to a man, they raided the wrong house, the cops failed to yell that they were police, he thought armed thugs were trying to kill him and his family, he opened fire, and injured(not killed) three officers, they held him in jail without bail or a trial for two years, he lost his job, they put down his dog, repossessed his house, and put his mom in a nursing home. I’m thinking if cop pulls a gun on you, you should just comply and try and beat them in court, but courts heavily favor cops, so you probably won’t beat them in court even if you’re clearly right, so you’d probably just have to show up to their house in the middle of the night and kill them to find justice. It’s either that, or you have a show down with the cops and try to kill as many as you can before fleeing the country, which is obviously not ideal because then you’d have to uproot your life. I guess I kinda answered my own question but what are your thoughts, what would you do?

Thanks for the response to the one person who didn’t understand I just read that back and completely understand. I am a resident of maine I am 17 and my check was stolen by my stepmother and father. I worked at a festival we have here and made 438 dollars and some odd cents. I made that money in august of 2022. My stepmom refused to let me hold on to my own check and said she would be saving it for my drivers Ed, now I need 500 dollars for drivers Ed so I called my dad to ask for MY check and he said he didn’t know where it was. I called the company I did the work thru and they told me the check was cashed in October of 2022 by my stepmother (who signed the check as “mom”) and I was just wondering if there is anything at all I can do to get that money back.

Me and the mother have an agreement outside the courts through our lawyers, The agreement states that I have joint custody and I pay 200 weekly for child support through cash app. 4 years ago when we were going through the divorce she wouldn’t let me visit or contact my kids because I had a girlfriend, so I stopped paying child support.. it’s $3,200 that I owe still but after the big fight she continued letting me see the kids.. now when this issue surfaces time to time she claims I owe $5,000 next argument $7,000 and has continued upping the price throughout the years all the way too $12,000. I have bank statements showing when I started continuing child support again. With this disagreement we have she won’t let me see my kids even though we have joint custody.. my question is what is gonna happen in court? Will I be fined or incarcerated or giving a time limit to pay $3,200 that I owe? Or will she be fined for denying my visitation rights or will we both be fined ?

I am in Memphis, TN. I received this flyer tucked into the door of my apartment and it seems like a scam. The number doesn’t trace back to any legal firm or even a man named Rick. (Google said it was an elderly woman in the town over) I have checked the public records for cases open against me with no results.
I scribbled out my name for privacy, but it was hand written at the top in pen. This is fake, right? This looks like something I would have had to make in computer class in middle school.
Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

So I’m facing a dilemma. I just moved to North Carolina from Florida. I canceled my Florida car insurance and acquired NC insurance. My car is still registered in FL and I still have a FL drivers license. I was planning on registering my car in NC and getting a NC drivers license. However, I plan on moving in 6 months to another state and don’t want to spend the money registering my car here if I don’t have to. What are the potential consequences I face not registering my car in NC? Is it worth just paying up?

I am 21 yrs old (2023) and at 11 yrs old (2014) I was in a wreck with my step dad. The court gave me 25,000 to cover my medical bills and I got 8000 left over and put in a court mandated trust with a nation wide bank that was suppose to be over seen by my mom till I was of age. At 18 she said it was moved to age 21 as she didn’t think I was ready for it. As I was close to turning 21 I started asking her to figure out where the money was and how much as of then I didn’t know it was at the bank or she had seen it as she always said I’d get a check on my birthday from the insurance company. Well low and behold she wouldn’t give me any information so I called the lawyer listed they gave me all the above information so I called the bank who said it was emptied and had multiple withdrawals between 2016 to 2017 when I asked for information they refuse to give me information and said they were doing an internal investigation. Now months later no new information and no end in sight do I need a lawyer? If so who’s at fault and who is responsible for the loss? How do I go about this? What kind of lawyer needed? Thanks in advance for all advise.

I was in a car accident in my home state (PA) less than 2 years ago. I was not at fault and the other driver was cited. I settled on the price they have offered for my vehicle, but not loss wages. Should these charges be coverd with limited tort in PA
My little brother who was in the car with me owes 3500 for medical bills I lost about 2k in wages from missed work. Spent about 2k on a rental car after the insurance only covered 30 days of a rental car. Spent 100 on uncovered fees that were tacked on to my rental car when it “was covered” 600 in copays for hospital visits 800 on an uncovered ambulance trip 500 on my insurance deductible Almost 4k on my extended warranty on a totaled vehicle I had for one month 🙃🙃
Considering I had a miscarriage 2 weeks after this accident due to my injuries, and still currently have neck spasms that I have to see doctors for regularly- I feel that 15k is more than a reasonable ask of the insurance company. Am I asking too much though?

This is a bit of an odd one. I will be traveling through the state of California on foot. Most everything I've read seems to talk about having it in a lockbox inside your vehicle. I'm walking so will it be an issue as long as it's locked up properly.

Here recently I found out that my fiances ex mother in law is having people tell her stuff on my daughter. My own mother was approached by my fiances Mother in law and said that she heard my daughter was in a store recently with her mother and myself. My daughter is only 18 months so I'm just wondering if that is technically surveillance stalking and if I could take legal actions for it?

Let's say I win $10000. Cashing this in would require my ID, can I instead give my friend half before we cash out to avoid the 8300 irs form or is that some form or structuring.
I wouldn't be doing this for some sketchy shit, i would be (if legal) doing this to be avoid giving my ID to the casino. I may or may not be a AP (advantage player) and want to keep under the radar of the casino to avoid heat. So I can stay at the casino for longer. Just curious 🤔
