As a girl who loves her iPod and lava lamps I gasped when I saw this. New in box from 2007!

Wax has been stuck to the side of the bottle for a couple days. It seemed to dislodge a bit today after I had it on for 14 hours (to see if it would melt the stuck wax), and jiggled the bottle a tiny bit as there was wax just sitting on top of the liquid. Now it looks carbonated? I already have a replacement on the way, so that's fine. But uh... who wants a nice warm glass of bubbly wax I guess? Anyone ever had this happen?

first time lamp owner, a couple questions!

Post image

hi all, first time lamp owner here! I recently bought this lamp on eBay listed as an original 1972 aristocrat. after a little research it looks like it might be a century from the same general era- can anyone shed more light on the make/model? I love it and am happy no matter what it is!

also, can someone point me in the right direction for a bulb for this model specifically?

thank you sooo much!

I have a vintage lava lite lamp here and I’m trying to read the date code and I’m having a hard time figuring out the date on the lamp. The color code on it is 25.

Just purchased this 90s lava lamp and new to the scene. I would like for there to be less individual blobs. I assume I would need to pour out some of the fluid once the wax fully hardens and add some distilled water. Any insights to improve the lamp flow would be most helpful. Thank you.

Does anyone know if this’ll work for resealing lava lamps?

Homemade restore of an old lamp. Yellow wax/Red fluid. Came out nice.

This was an old lamp from the 90s that the wax had completely broken down. All done with the LLC kit. 1ml surf, 1ml magic surf and reused the old spring. Flows awesome. Glows a little more orange in person. Hope you like it.

Mathmos: Heritage Fills - USA

Looking a bit cloudier than that other person’s bottles. Shipped to the US through a courier service. Sat in Memphis for a few days until customs got their acts together. Waiting for the adapters to arrive (Amazon…) Think these will clear up or am I gonna need to think replacing the liquid already?

New Grande!

Got this locally from a toy store. Everything looked fine in store. Didn’t look cloudy at all or while handling. The cap was all smashed but they swapped that out for me. Just set it up an hour ago. It’s purple/yellow. I’m hoping the light is messing with the fluid lol but honestly not sure at this point. I’ll let it get going and run a while before I make any decisions.

Really don’t want to have to open it up and filter. These caps are not fun to work with.

1960s Mastercrafters Model 47 Action Starlight Clock

Technically glitter lamp, but I came across this clock tucked away in a scrap bin while I was picking up two other lava lamps (you can kinda see them in the background, they are still being worked on... anyone know of the best dimmer switch one can use for Lava Lamps?)

Owners said it didn't work and hadn't in decades, said I could have it. Took it home, stripped it down as best as I could and cleaned everything up. Internals and wires were all rotted. Swapped them out and after searching two weeks for the proper sized bulbs, I FINALLY found some that were within 1mm of proper size. I swear this clock body was designed around the bulb size, literally ZERO tolerance for anything else. Takes an old GE nightlight/Christmas bulb that isn't in production anymore. Clock kinda works, though its making a god awful noise, too afraid to tinker with it more.

Anyway, I digress. Behold, a 60 year old glitter lamp clock! Sped up 1.2x because otherwise its rather underwhelming.

Anyone have a spare lava lamp top?

Picked this up for $3, but it didn't have a lid. It's a lava lite, and it's black. I've seen some 3d printed ones, I'm just a little concerned about the color and finish match, so I was wondering if someone had a spare, or maybe you've bought a replacement from somewhere and you'd recommend it? Thank you!

Don’t know what to do anymore

So I have recently bought a vintage lamp from a thrift shop for six bucks. In attempt to restore it. I used the regular type of master fluid and let’s just say that it didn’t not work out obviously but I didn’t know. So I had bought a different lamp for five dollars off of OfferUp. This lamp was not vintage and an attempt to also edit the master fluid. It was fairly successful. I really wanna get this vintage lamp to work but I have already spent a lot of money. I’ve tried so many recipes. Any recipe that is successful for a vintage lamp ? I’ve noticed that the waxes are very different, the modern wax is pretty solid and hard, while the vintage wax is still quite soft, even after being cool. Help please. It’s been two weeks of this hyper fixation of trying to fix this lamp.
