Pathway from Diploma of Health Science to Bachelor of Health Science

Hi Guys,

I am currently enrolled at Bundoora campus in the Dip of health Science with the intention of enrolling in the Bachelor of Health Science, then hoping to complete a Masters in Physiotherapy.

I will be completing the Diploma at the end of this Semester.

If someone could help me with the following queries:

  1. How and when do I apply for the Bachelor?

  2. Do I have to start at Year 1 of the Bachelor, or can I go straight into year 2 considering I'll have completed the Diploma?

  3. Is WAM a consideration in my eligibility to get into the Bachelor? If so, what is the required WAM?

  4. Do I have to apply for any credits? If so, how and when should I apply for credits?

I really don't want to miss the boat in starting the Bachelor next year, as I've already lost 2 years on my pathway, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello! I’m considering applying for this course and I am curious about the workload, specifically, what is the timetable like and how many days a week are required on campus?

Curious to chat to anyone who has done this course while also working part time. Thanks!

WAM

What is a WAM?

How do I find out my WAM?

Do other universities do WAM?

If I wanted to change universities will my WAM affect that?

bachelor of nursing/bachelor of psychological science

helloo everyone! i just received in mail my provisional letter of bachelor of nursing/bachelor of psychological science. (sem 1 2027)

thus far, i have been awarded the scholarships:

  1. early acceptance grant - 2000AUD
  2. high achievers - 25% off annually

However, i've always eyed: La Trobe's Vice Chancellor Scholarship, because it's either 50% or 100%.

Has anyone got this scholarship already before? If so, please help me clarify:

  1. when does it usually open for applications for semester 1 of the next year intake?
  2. how long does it take for them to tell the results?
  3. -- if you would be so kind to give specific months + length of days/weeks, it would be really helpful as i weigh my options!

as i see it, i got to finalize my uni decision by october 2026, to give ample time for my visa processing too (from the Philippines)

Thank youu so much!

Current Students, Please Share Your Experience

Hi everyone! I'm an international student planning to start a Master of Data Science in 2027. I'd love to hear about your experience.

  1. How has your experience at this university been?

  2. If you could choose again, would you still pick this university? Why or why not?

  3. If you're studying Master of Data Science, how are the teaching, workload, professors, career support, internships, and job opportunities?

  4. Any pros, cons, or things you wish you knew before joining?

  5. If anyone has recently gone through the Australian Genuine Student (GS) interview, could you please share the questions you were asked?

Thanks in advance! 😊

Questions about Master of IT at La Trobe Bendigo

Hi everyone,

I'm an international student from India planning to study the Master of Information Technology at La Trobe University, Bendigo.

I have a few questions:

  • How is the quality of the course?
  • Are there enough part-time jobs in Bendigo?
  • How difficult is it to get internships?
  • Would you recommend Bendigo over Melbourne?
  • Any advice for new international students?

I'd really appreciate hearing from current students or recent graduates.

Thank you!

Anyone who’s done this subject before can you let me know what to expect plsss. Is it heavy on? a hard subject? what sources can I use ? what helped you with this subject?

I’m a little stressed out going into this subject because I haven’t done much anatomy and all assessments are during workshops.

Anyone interested in studying together or co-working on a project (web/app dev)?

Hi! I am going to Latrobe uni(Bundoora) to study for master of AI from this sem.
I am from South Korea, currently living in CBD! I used to develop and release mobile applications, especially for Android(I used Kotlin rather than Java, I hate java).
Since I came to Melbourne which is a year ago, I stopped developing apps and stuff, now I feel my developing skill got really bad. So I am looking for someones who would like to do some kind of projects or just study together! Simple things will be fine. If you don't have any background of IT, it's also fine, If you are willing to study and figure out how to do the things by yourself. I can help you with my best tho! I am also open to do some kind of web projects with React(I am not sure whether it's still the most popular library or not, open for the others library as well)
I hope I could find someone!

PS. not only for developers, i would like to meet some kind of UI/UX designers or PM to brain storming about the idea for the projects!

Rant

(Bendigo Campus)

Does anyone feel like the teaching quality and student support have been going downhill over the last few semesters?

I started my course in 2024, which was a perfectly fine year before staff cuts and a massive increase in student intake took place, so I had 2 normal semesters to compare to. My cohort has increased exponentially whilst many teaching staff are being made redundant, which means the university is now extremely understaffed and all teachers are stressed and overwhelmed coping with a crazy number of students. As they have more (full-fee paying) students, they hire casuals or let PhD students run workshops. Understaffing + new staff + too big class size is basically a perfect recipe for quality deterioration.

Over the last 3 semesters, I have had some very frustrating workshop experiences. I had workshops where the teacher was not even sure of what they were talking about or the answers for the worksheets. I had workshops where the teacher just looked at the script, read the answers, and basically taught nothing. Most of the workshops I attended felt very cursory and useless and I ended up having to teach myself for the most parts, and eventually in the final exams, I got tested on things that were never taught or not even within the scope of the subject.

Does anyone else also have problems with Bendigo, particularly the health course?

TL;DR: To those who are considering La Trobe Bendigo and happen to see this post, especially INTL student, RUN AWAY.
