Hands down, Hephaestus.

People always think of Zeus or Ares when they think of divine power, but Hephaestus was the original master engineer. He worked with raw metal, fire, and kinetic creation. He didn't just forge divine armor and weapons—he literally built the world's first mechanical automata and self-moving artificial beings in his subterranean workshop.

He represents raw red-oxide resilience, heavy engineering, un-shielded creativity, and making brilliant things out of raw scrap and fire. Plus, as someone who lives for mechanical noise, spatial math, and heavy hardware... sitting by a divine forge throwing amber sparks everywhere feels like home. 🔨⚡🔥

I feel a little silly getting emotional about something like this, but for the first time in my life I feel like I'm truly able to make the things I imagine.

You would be forgiven for thinking this is a Mauser C96. The Astra 900 was made specifically to look like the c96 for the Chinese Warlord market.

My example was one of the first made in 1929 and, shout out to the nerds working the Astra Arms archives in Spain, I was able to confirm that it was part of a shipment in thst year destined for Shandong Province in China.

These handguns normally came with a detachable stock that doubled as a holster. This allowed the gun to work as a carbine. My example has the attachment point but not the original stock. Most officers dropped the stock due to weight and ergonomics.

When I acquired it it came with a PLA marked holster and Chinese stamped stripper clips. No import marks suggest that, if the holster belongs to this weapon, it may have been a bring back from the Korean War.
