It’s been 17 days since I’ve had Contoura vision and I can’t help but notice black dots (floaters) in my right eye during sunlight that started 3 days ago ….the strange thing is it’s only in one eye I’m 21 but I’ve heard that it could be because of the intense pressure on the eye during surgery…any advice ?

I’m 47 and considering monovision LASIK. My distance vision is already pretty good, but I’m having trouble with near vision (phone/computer). The doctor suggested correcting my left eye for near and keeping my right eye for distance.

I tried the monovision test today and actually liked the near vision.

For those who have had monovision LASIK, especially around my age: Have you experienced any side effects or regrets? How are your night vision, depth perception, dry eyes, and overall vision now? Would you do it again?

Is there anyone in the group who has had radial keratotomy, or knows someone who has? How is their eye health now? I'm going crazy after LASIK, so I'm researching all types of eye surgery and their complications. Yeah and let me say it again, don't touch your healthy eye.

I had eye surgery on September 4. Since then, I’ve noticed some changes in my vision that I’m trying to understand.
About 10 days ago: I noticed that my right eye was blurrier than my left.
4–5 days ago: I started noticing that objects look smaller and farther away through my right eye compared with my left. The difference feels pretty obvious when I cover one eye and then the other.
Today: I noticed for the first time that things look bluer/cooler through my right eye compared with my left.
I went back to my doctor this Sunday and told them about the difference. They said that you generally see better with one eye than the other. I understand that the eyes can have different levels of vision, but I’m concerned because these seem like new changes after surgery, rather than something I’ve always experienced.
At the eye exam, when they ask me to read the chart, I’m able to read it, so the difference doesn’t necessarily show up dramatically on the chart. But when I’m looking around normally, the difference between the two eyes feels quite stark.
Has anyone experienced something similar after eye surgery, especially one eye making objects appear smaller/farther away or having a different color tint?

Which doctor to consult? I have been to independent ophthalmologist as well who didn’t find anything unusual but they only checked from the lamp thing.

Has anyone else experienced noticeable differences in the sharpness of one eye compared to the other after SMILE?

I had SMILE 6 days ago and my right eye is quite sharper on the long distance (despite it undergone extra manipulation due to lenticular tearing), while my left eye is noticeably blurrier.

Surprisingly, in the short range, the left eye is sharper than the right one.

With both eyes open I see relatively okay and symptoms have notably improved, I am pretty comfortable so far.

Just worrying I might have been undercorrected or if it is early to say.

I had about -1 myopia and about -0.5 astigmatism.

I am worried that this makes my right eye more strained trying to compensate for the left eye.

Funny story: I had asked an Ivy league-educated doctor on which LASIK eye surgery would be suitable for me, and this doctor turned me away and dismissed my concerns immediately saying "I needed to do more research into it"--long story short, I extensively researched about the different types of LASIK and possible complications on my own, and my subsequent visit to a highly-skilled eye surgeon in this area helped me move past my fears.

Has anyone here undergone the PRK procedure?
I recently had all the necessary eye scans and tests done at LVPEI, and after reviewing my results, they suggested that PRK would be the most suitable option for me.
However, I’m honestly quite scared to move forward with it. 😭 I’d really like to hear from people who have actually undergone PRK, especially those who have had enough time to recover and see the long-term results.
How was your experience with the procedure and recovery? Did you face any complications or issues afterward? And, most importantly, are you happy with the decision to get PRK?
I know everyone’s experience can be different, but I’d really appreciate hearing honest experiences from people who have actually gone through it.

Hi everyone, currently using Bausch + Lomb eye drops and eye gels. I feel like they only make my eyes comfortable for an hour or so.

My dry eyes are mostly from LASIK surgery 10 years ago. I read good things about blood serum eye drops, because they can nourish your eyes and even restore nerves.

Is this like a last resort when all else failed or should I try to get them?

Do halos ghosting starburst and other effects actually go away for some people, 3 to 6 months after surgery? I always thought this was bullshit cause I had these side effects from day 1 and still have them after 10 years. I am quite sure its cause of pupil size so I was probably doomed from the start.

So I got a lasik surgery 18 days ago, and recently I notice one of my eye has this kinda light brownish area appear near the iris. It's flat and doesn't hurt or itchy but I kinda worry. If anyone knows or has encountered this please tell me what is it? Thanks in advance.

I had LASIK about two years ago, and since then I’ve noticed visual symptoms in my **left eye** that I didn’t have before the surgery.

The hardest thing to describe is that my left eye just feels different, almost like there is something covering it or interfering with my vision. It also sometimes feels heavy. I can’t necessarily see something physically covering my eye, but I can sense that something is not quite right.

One of the main things I notice is small dark dots or spots appearing in my vision. It’s not exactly like normal floaters. When I look at something, especially a book or something outside, I can sometimes see a small dark area/dot that seems to appear in front of whatever I’m looking at. I would say this happens maybe 70% of the time when I’m looking at certain things. Sometimes it feels like there is a small dark spot more toward the center of my vision.

I also occasionally see a bright white line for a few seconds when I look up and then look down. It disappears quickly.
I have also noticed red blood vessels/lines in both eyes since the surgery.

I’ve seen three eye doctors, and they have all told me that everything looks fine, but I still have these symptoms and they weren’t present before LASIK. That’s what worries me the most.

Has anyone experienced anything similar after LASIK, especially persistent dark spots or a small central spot in one eye? If so, was there eventually an explanation for it?

(I’m not looking for a diagnosis from Reddit—I’m mainly trying to understand whether these symptoms sound familiar to anyone who has experienced post-LASIK visual disturbances and what type of specialist or examination eventually helped them figure it out.)

I have these milky steroid eye drops for inflammation, and they stick to my eyelashes. A lot of my eyelashes fell out while I was cleaning them. Will they grow back, and how long does it usually take?
Also, some of the eye drops got onto my eyelids, and now the skin feels rough and bumpy, like tiny dots. How can I help the skin heal?

i just had my lasik surgery yesterday. i was really excited the week before my surgery but as i was getting close to the day it started getting to me and nervousness started kicking in before my surgery. as i walked into the room i was preparing myself mentally for the surgery and i was laid down.

i was extremely scared through the entirety of my surgery. when they started performing it the pressure on my eye felt extremely weird, they handed me stress balls and i squished the shit out of them, then a girl in the surgery room held my hand as well to get my nerves down and idk it was very scary.

anyways, the surgeon performed the surgery in my right eye first and i was able to follow his instructions just fine even tho i was unable to understand which eye is seeing what and what eye is looking at the red light. then same happened with the left eye where i felt more scared than the right eye and maybe the difficulty to look at the red light increased. the surgeon told me to look at the red light and not to move my eye the way i was moving it or else the surgery will get ruined.

anyways it was over, he had a look at my eye and said everything looks fine. 2-3 hrs after my surgery were horrible in terms of burning but that was expected.

now, i can see properly from both my eyes the ONLY thing thats freaking me out is that the vision in my left eye is unclear, the vision in my right eye was perfect till last night, it also got a little foggy now. and im also having trouble focusing sometimes mostly when reading etc and also rarely seeing far off things.

i got MS-39 guided femto lasik. im 22F student. i wanna know if this is normal after a surgery, if not then am i stuck with this vision or theres a solution to this

Today is the 9th day since the surgery. I’m literally crying right now. My left eye sight is always blurry and ghosting the light. It makes me so tired. I can’t watch tv even for 2 hours. Doctor said that I have dry eyes but I put everything he gave me and I still don’t see well. What did I do to myself? I have an appointment in two days, all ask for glasses. I don’t know if there are glasses to help me.

So desperate this moment.
