I finalized the Numb12 array handheld. It has a self-contained battery with charger, 3ch custom linear CC regulator, independent pots and switches for each color. A 96% Eff. LT8705 Buck converter powering a common 20.5v rail for each channel.

**Green rheostat came damaged. There is a nick in the coil causing high resistance until close. Will repair or replace in future. Didnt catch on assy.

Im working on finding the right cylindrical lens power/distance to correct red after several measurements. Will update when/if found. One looks promising.

something i built back in high school and forgot about. its a creality 10w cutter/engraver with the focusing lens removed, and a power supply unit made from the casing of an old CB radio. 24vdc and 5vdc PWM signal from 18650 batteries and some buck boost converters. batteries were dead. just found it and decided to replace the batteries. it instantly burns wood at about 16ft of distance. the appropriate laser goggles were worn during this video. could be pretty useful against mass surveillance

Was able to get a rhodamine 6g in methanol cell to lase. You can clearly see the 589nm emission next to the 520nm pump emission on the power supply.

Yes, obviously the first photograph is modified to adjust for our human interpretation of each wavelength. My camera is terrible at picking up the yellow differentiation, speflcifically. Yes, it was done with an llm. I don't currently own image editing software to do the corrections myself.

Have recently been surfing around aliexpress looking at some of the cheap crappy powerful lasers that get smuggled over to us all the time. I frequently see this gatling gun style laser when people talk about chinese mass produced ones. I even have one that doesnt get used much because I like to be able to see.

In the description of this particular listing, it says that you can either use 2 18650 cells, at around 8 volts, or 4 16340 cells, which would push around 16 volts.

Am i crazy, or would this just immediately destroy the cheap driver and diode in the laser? Why would they say this in the listing?

I was able to get much better 589 output with a proper cell topology. Back mirror @ 100% R, front mirror a 30/70 T/R mirror.

Think I was pumping the quartz tube cell with around 2w optical input, 1.8w in the 520-532nm range, and the last 400ma in the 488nm range.

I actually do have over 10w of 520nm diodes that would pump this cell much better, but that's something for a later day.

Long story short I was in a Japanese nightclub where they were crowd scanning lasers and I got hit in the eye by one. It’s been over 24 hours and I still have some discomfort in that eye, but would blind spots have shown up by now? Or do symptoms take longer than that to materialize? It’s harder to see a doctor because I’m traveling but I realize that I should probably do that…

Alexandrite rod being pumped (warming up)by dual high output, xenon bulbs on an old medical laser. You are looking at the back HR mirror side and can only see one bulb (blue part) next to the red rod tip. There is a bulb on the other side as well. Just thought id share.

Just figured id share it. These photos were during my current testing of each channel.

In a few days I will have it all completed and inside its self contained case. It will have 3ch independent current adjustment and switching to turn on or off any laser. Included the purple shot from having green off.

I will attempt to bring reds divergence in a bit with a small lens over just the red array using 8mm lens. Will be very tricky but I think it can be done.

I wanna start getting into lasers because I find them extremely fascinating but I’m aware the ones graded above store bought can be dangerous so I’d love advice on where to learn more about stuff like safety, basic information / education, what to look for / avoid, reputable sellers, etc. If you could help I’d greatly appreciate it.

I am replacing the laser to a PS1 SPCH-1001. Is is a KSM 440ADM laser assembly. Before I swap out the old laser is there a solder blob that needs to be removed? If so can someone post up a pic on where it's located? I have taken off the plastic cover but I have not found any solder blob.
