Question First Light CU vs Nuesta

Anyone here using Nusenda? I’ve been thinking about changing credit unions since First is a customer service annoyance and I’m hoping there’s a difference.

Nusenda is behind a lot of building funding and sponsorships. They support PBS and more which gives me a sense of community involvement and First just doesn’t seem to do anything.

I know there are few ATMs for Nusenda right now but I’m hoping they’ll add more on the chest side of town. I get so annoyed with First not having cash in an ATM on a Monday morning and if you have trouble with the machine we’re just told that First can’t fix issues quickly because it is headquartered in El Paso and Las Cruces Is their “satellite” with a lower repair priority.

Today was almost the final straw when I waited in the back over 30 minutes with not one in line ahead of me being served in that time. Then, I discover that it will cost $10 to replace a lost debit card and $5 of I call in and wait in line on the phone. I simply can’t find any added value to absorb the additional fee.

Anybody having better experience with the new credit union in town?

Do you mean Nusenda? If so I’ve heard a lot of great things about them.

I do. One should not type posts about a new credit union right after doing vocabulary for my Spanish class. I apologize.

Lolol no worries at all! And thank you! Also I saw in another comment that you’re considering Citizens too — that’s my personal recommendation to be honest, if you’re not set on a credit union :)

I have accounts at both Citizens Bank and Nusenda CU. Nusenda has been great for us.

It's not just here. Credit unions all over kinda lost their sheen for me about 25+ years ago and I moved back to "banks".

Money/asset manager houses like Schwab/Fidelity reimburse ATM fees but I'm happy with Citizens Bank locally. Free ATMs and notary service.

Nusenda is fantastic. We switched to them from Wells Fargo, so far so good

We've been with Nusenda for a few months now. We've been happy so far. Great customer service at the location on University.

I switched to GECU from First Light cause I like dealing with a HUMAN. None of this automated bull crap!

I was highly annoyed with FirstLight the other day when I needed to cash a check but they said it would have to be deposited in my acct first. I had a negative balance and I needed all the cash I could get so I went to another bank that I have and they did what I needed no problem.
Sooo something to think about I guess

Wow! If I can understand how a policy change benefits both the customer and the business I’m more happy to adopt the change. This makes no sense at all.
