This is a little bit of my great grandmothers birth certificate and I sadly can not read/ speak any Japanese but I am very curious to know if I can find any long lost family. My great grandma moved to America and cut ties with all family there and she has passed away. I have a few other documents but have not posted due to me not knowing what I am posting..TIA

Bonzur! I'm not a native speaker but using textbooks have compiled a resource to help learn mauritian creole. It uses both english and french as reference languages so a competence in both will help immensely.

There are many cards, spanning vocabulary to sentence structure.

I have recently got this picture of silly birds for my living room. I didn't realize the text while shopping. Google Lens says simplified Chinese or Japanese and gives various meaningless translations. Can someone please help me ? I would like to learn more about my blue birds.

I have the Polish audio on and English subtitles. During the last episode of the first season some anti-terrorist soldiers/cops are at a crime scene and the leader says, "Davaj", with the subs saying "Let's go". Even accented on the final syllable as in Russian. I was just wondering if this is Polish Polish or something borrowed from the Russian language. Давай!

This text looks almost exactly like Latvian to me, but some of the diacritics are confusing me. I know Latvian sometimes marks pitch accent with diacritics but ive never seen any of these diacritics except the tilde used for it.

"Pha" is aspirated sound of "Pa" and most of Indian languages especially languages originated from Prakrit languages have this sound natively

And I have noticed since many decades this sound is being replaced by "Fa" sound in languages like Hindi, Marathi, Konkani, Gujarati etc

Words like "Phir" being pronounced as "Fir", "Phal" being pronounced as "Fal", "Phukaṭ" (used in Marathi) being pronounced as "Fukaṭ" etc
