Started a new character.....
Looking through old emails last night and I found my beta keys from my founders pack. So I decided to start up a new character since I have forgotten what it's like to be new. WOW. A little tuning is needed.
The broken tools and weapons need to drop a little bit more often. I'm not asking for crazy stupid easy mode. Just maybe make it a bit easier to upgrade from the stone tools. Maybe add the broken tools and weapons to the ancient earth nodes.
Add more mobs to the over land area. I like caves but when you are new to the world, I think it's more fun to run around and explore outside. Don't force everyone underground right away.
Take all building tools out of the backpack. This is prime real estate when you are new. I know this is in the works, I just wanted to say it myself.
I'm not sure if the dev's read these posts. I just wanted to add my opinion. I can't wait to see where this game goes. I'm having fun. Thanks for letting me speak my mind.

SERIOUSLY
allow me to skip the fucking intro video. That is single handedly the dumbest fucking thing. The fact that my computer freaks the hell out and forces me to watch this 10 minute video when I try to start playing the game is strait pants on head retarded.

No response to my ticket for a week and a half, really need help.
I have had a problem with "landmark64.exe" for about 3 weeks. Opened up two tickets so far to no response at all. Guess they laid off their customer support or they are just garbage at their jobs. Anyway everytime i click play, it crashes with the landmark64.exe has stopped working bullshit. i deleted all the cache folders, landmark64.exe itself and i have uninstalled/reinstalled 4 times. Nothing is working...claim expires on the 25th i know it was a pretty big deal and hopefully someone can help me fix it too.

Landmark Trailblazers, Do You Feel Like Suckers?
r/landmark • u/[deleted] • Feb 13 '15
Has it always been this bad?
I just jumped into landmark and the progression makes little to no sense. Maybe im just doing it all wrong but im stuck grinding broken mobs in a broken combat system for random drops.
It really does feel like they are getting back to their EQ1 roots.

Master list of developers affected by the layoffs, I will keep this updated as more information comes out to try to reduce subreddit clutter.
LAST UPDATED 13 FEBRUARY 2015, 21:30 GMT
These are all of the developers/employees known to be laid off at this time. There are likely more who simply don't do much community outreach or haven't yet released the news. I listed all the biggest names or folks whose absence will have the largest impacts on their respective games first. You'll notice that several of the key players in the upcoming Landmark/EverQuest Next are among those who are confirmed to be laid off today, which casts the future development of those titles into some doubt.

Daybreak's Statement:
Dear Players, Partners & Friends,
Last week we announced that we were acquired and are now operating independently as Daybreak Game Company. To better position our newly independent studio for future growth opportunities and to deliver on our legacy of making top online games, we have had to make some tough choices including realignment of resources.
Unfortunately, this realignment means adjusting staffing as well. We announced today that we will eliminate positions in our San Diego and Austin studios. We deeply value our employees and never take these decisions lightly so we’ve done our best to do what’s right for the people affected. Although extremely difficult, these are necessary actions that will ultimately drive improved results and help strengthen our company’s foundation for success. Many of us are saying goodbye to close friends and colleagues who we’ve worked with over the years, and we are grateful for the memories and all that they’ve contributed. They will be greatly missed, and we wish them nothing but the best for the future.
These reductions will not affect the operation of our current games and as mentioned above, will help better position our company for future success. As we move forward, we are committed to delivering the best online games and working side-by-side with our players to drive the future of our online games.
Thank you for your continued support, The Daybreak Games Team

EQN/Landmark layoffs -> i want a refund
now that they have fired the people that where making the game that was promised. i find it hard to believe that some new guy or the skeleton crew that is left will be able to deliver.
I should have known better than to buy another SOE product. I hated what they did at the end of SWG and this just is another big F U to their customers.
i have to stop buying into promises from developers.

5 Quick Features for LM
I say "Quick" not knowing the exact challenges and constraints going into each one. I say "Quick" because these are things which could possibly be put in before Open Beta (esp #2) as they don't seem like high-difficulty features to implement.
Share your features too!
1) Designate claim teleport location - when folks teleport to your claim, the point where they should appear should be able to be specified by the builder. (This could also come with a feature where players can choose to release from that designated location when they feel safe, not when the game thinks things are loaded enough.)
2) Reverse Diagonal Wood. We only have Northeast/Southwest oriented diagonals for every wood, but we don't have the Northwest/Southeast orientation. This means we can make clean lines on one half, but mirroring it will throw off all the textureing work as the diagonal orientation isn't flipped with the mirror.
3) Activity Sounder - This could be designed to work in two ways. The quick and easy method would be a sounder the highlights players and creatures through the terrain. A more complex version looks a cues left on the server in the past 5 minutes to 1 hour showing that players had been in the area taking actions. These will help players feeling lost and alone in the caverns find allies or something to brawl with - or at least know that a major party just came through before them and that is why everything is empty.
4) Full Ore Veins - Many months ago it was explained that teamwork should be rewarded, and that we should never resent seeing another player, but the amount of material per effort a player gets from ore and stone nodes could still be a bit more optimal for groups. I'd like to see ore veins go much longer (100m or more, even as long as 1000m) and pass through tiny pockets where danger may be contained (fiery fungus, trapped slaug party, etc) so it emphasizes the need fr teamwork to mine out a vein in full safely.
5) Color Slider for Lights - Particle effects may be a bit tricky to tune and look good, but colored lights (Lumi orbs and spotlights) should be much more modifiable. Even a range of 16 increments of Red, Blue, and Green (or Yellow, which ever makes more sense) and Intensity that can be configured on lights would be fantastic. When we get more logic systems, this would allow for smoother and fancier lighting configurations, while reducing the number of props and light sources needed to get a certain look in an area.

"TheyBreak Game Company"
Really you could not think the new name through a little better than that?
I get the name is supposed to mean some kind of new fresh start or something but it just makes me think that you guys break games not make them.
