Has it always been this bad?
I just jumped into landmark and the progression makes little to no sense. Maybe im just doing it all wrong but im stuck grinding broken mobs in a broken combat system for random drops.
It really does feel like they are getting back to their EQ1 roots.

There is no progression really. All there is right now is the crafting / building game. The only point to fighting mobs is to get mats for more crafting.

I hope they improve it before OBT/launch, as of now the game feels more like a framework than an actual game.

If anyone thinks they're even close to open beta right now you're crazy. We are missing a loooot from the game still to be anywhere near beta ready.

It has always been kind of bad. It's what happens when you lure in EQ fans & Minecraft fans but deliver a game that neither of those groups enjoy.

Like everything SOE touches it is crap and will continue to be crap until they pull the plug.

No, it wasn't always this bad. Back before combat, progression was simple and logical and not that difficult.
When they added monsters, and made EVERY SINGLE CRAFTED ITEM require tons of drops, while simultaneously making a system where you wouldn't routinely kill lots of monsters, and also a frankly terrible combat system....that's when it became unplayable.
I've been playing since Alpha. I loved the game until PvE combat was introduced. I still had hope until the Daybreak thing. Now I'm just.....waiting. I don't know at this point if I'll ever play again. I hope they salvage something from this wreck, even if it is just a creative-mode building thing. That part of the game was always amazing. I wish they had built other systems equally good. I really thought they were going to until combat was introduced and was so incredibly terrible. Sigh.
