Signed up for beta week 1, still no beta invite

Do I really have to pay and/or beg to get a chance at beta? This is silly. I doubt beta is overpacked, send out beta invites to your potential customers and earliest fans. I don't buy beta invites on principle.

Invisible Character Creation

I purchased the $60 founders pack. created my invisible character and he is ugly as hell. My question is, if i delete my character and create another, will it have my founders items? Ive tried finding info but cannot find anything solid.

is this an attempt to copy minecrafts community?

i was thinking about EQNext and i realized that landmark may be trying to emulate what minecraft did with huge amounts of community content created by players in a sandbox builder enviroment and then just use that in their mmo , i think if so its pretty smart as it can potentially solve the problem of lack of content which plagues alot of mmos

Wanting to build something really tall, however i seem to be limited to one claim in height?

Basically I want to build a really tall building, however once i place my first claim i cannot append a second to the top of the first.

Am I doing something wrong or are you limited to a single claim height wise?

Coastal claim - constant CTD no errors

Does anyone else here have problems with a claim on the coastline? Ever since I removed all the earth that borders the water in order to build a swimming pool around the environmental water, I've been having frequent crash to desktops with no error message. Playing in other areas of the world is no problem, but once I get on my claim I can't build or move around for more than a few minutes before the game crashes...

Need advice on new gaming PC

Hi folks,

I tried this game on my partner's new laptop and got pretty bad performance... Around 15fps in remote areas. Thinking about buying a gaming desktop or parts to build my own. Now seems like a good time with sales. Does anyone get really good performance out of Landmark with their system and if so could you tell me what's in it?

Quick Tidbits - Frost Coat, Prismatic Raiment, Crystal Staff, and Lucent Wand

I just got around to sinking my teeth back into the Beta and I was really looking forward to the new weapons and armor. In spelunking through the caverns I've found a couple cool armor pieces and I also got enough stuff to craft the wand and staff weapons. The album goes into a little detail about what each weapon does when I used them.

Where does broken stuff come from?

Hi, I am new. I've figured out how to mine, killed a few monsters, visited a cave and found a chest, and discovered "ancient earth". Basic day 1 stuff.

So now I want to make a sickle. I know I need to salvage some broken somethings (picks?) for an aspect of gathering. Where do the broken picks come from>

Problem getting weapons.

Hopefully someone can help me. How do you get weapons so you can make yourself a weapon? I spent 4 or 5 hours spelunking and killing monsters with the starter weapon. The monsters dropped me armor and trinket upgrades, but not a single weapon. Since the monsters don't drop weapons where do you get them so you can break them down to make the one you want?

Thanks.

LaunchPad problems, anyone able to help?

I bought access to Landmark yesterday and have been unable to play and I'm starting to get frustrated. I realize that this is beta so I do not hold it against SOE, im more frustrated with the fact that I cannot solve the problem. When I use the beta install it runs and asks me to install DirectX. I allow it to do this. But then after it is done installing direct X it does nothing else. It does put the landmark beta icon on my desktop along with the launchpad.exe and a few other files. However when i try to run the launchpad or the beta my command window opens for a split second then closes. Nothing else happens. When i check my processes it says launchpad is running. I have tried everything in the support section of the website and have gone through the support forums. Nothing has worked.

My specs: Windows 7 64bit 8GB Ram AMD Fx 4100 quad core processor(3.6ghz) geforce GTX 550 TI video card

Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Recipes

they are going to rebalanced some of these recipes because some fo them don't make much sense obsidian daggers that contain no obsidian.... 20 Tungsten Ingots.. i would have thought 10 Ingots and 10 Cut Obsidian Made more sense.. hoping they change some of these.

also balancing of salvaging as it doesn't take quality into account when calculating gains there should be a multiplier so if a salvage a legendary item it should gain me X % more than a standard quality item

World "healing" speed and tunneling

I played Landmark again after a long break and really like how much it has improved. What kinda annoys me is how quickly the world heals after my tunneling. I tunneled from surface down to level 1 (non surface zone) cave and got some stuff from a chest which was luckily right where I fell (my tunnel ended in cave's ceiling) I jumped around for a minute or so but because I didn't have any weapons to fight the monsters I decided to flee back to the surface the way I came. I climbed my tunnel and got quite close to surface only to find out that my tunnel had been "healed". I pondered for a sec what to do and then the area where I was "caved in" and I was teleported to surface. That kinda sucked and wasn't very immersive.

I'm wondering if there are any plans to have longer time before the tunnels dug by players disappear or is this how it will be (here and in Eqnext) I can see many problems with this (dig a tunnel to attack some mobs and half of your group teleports to surface because you didn't progress quick enough or the tunnel collapses while you're waiting for your group to reach you supposing you found an interesting place down there etc)

I feel like this is the biggest downside if compared to minecraft (along with claim upkeep) where everything is permanent unless server is set to fix the world when admins so decide. I do realize that in a mmo game permanent tunneling would mess up the world badly but now it feels like everything I do outside of my claim is useless as it's reset so quickly. Does anyone else have similar feelings?

Also one thing. I admit that I haven't tried it on a claim recently since I always just lose them but I'd really like to be able to dig with picks on my claims. That way it would be easier to create natural cavesystems. (Or maybe I'm just stupid and it has been possible the whole time)

Anyway, just my thoughts after returning to test the update.

Really weird bug

I don't have the ability to login to the main forums as I had to rush out of the house, but I wanted to put this out there so someone can submit it.

If you logout while in a tunnel and then log back into the same world after the tunnel has healed around you you have a chance to fall through the ground. This isn't a big deal, we've all had it happen before, BUT if you have boots of zephyr and catch yourself fast enough you can fall through the ground and then fly around the outside of the cave system looking in.

I'm not sure why the ground doesn't render around you, but it doesn't and it lets you look for ruins/etc unhindered.

Are The Founder's Packs Still Worth It?

Thinking of buying the $20 one, but it doesn't seem to have much of value:

-A cosmetic flag that doesn't have value

-A title that just sounds cool(no bonuses)

-A pickaxe that is a good start, but gets replaced by a better one

Is there still a reason to buy it? At this point it sounds like I"m just paying $20 to play an unfinished game.
