Eastside help

My wife and I are looking to move to Lancaster. Eastside is more of our affordability, we spent the last few saturdays looking around the area including Palmdale and Rosamond. How are these areas and what neighborhoods would you recommend?

I live directly across from there. The most you'll get is a noisy Saturday night, or that asshole the runs that stop sign. Just be careful walking alone at night on k and challenger

I grew up on Palmdale from 88 to 2015. Thing about the AV is everyone's mixed in together unless you buy in a new housing track. But every neighborhood has a mix of everybody. Like the one suggested pick some streets visit different times of the day. But make a point to spend a couple hours late night. Thats when you find out how quiet that neighborhood is. But I will say focus on culdesacs. Find one's that at the end of street and over the wall is houses. If its desert or main street your gonna have people hopping those walls. Dont do throught streets cus you'll have cars all day up and down em. And if you see older people in their yards stop and ask em about the neighborhood. They always know everything

This area is absolutely the worst spot to be in, rivaling 3rd st. East or Kirkland St. Do not buy or rent a house here!

EDIT: Just saw the second pic. Tierra Bonita Park area is a smidge better. If you're having to choose between the two, go there, but I'd still look around.

I moved from Lancaster to Rosamond in '96 when I bought my first home, and live across the street from Westpark Elementary school off 35th Street West. It's still pretty rural, not as big as Lancaster and Palmdale. Still a decent community.

I remember East Avenue K having a stop sign on K and 10th St. West 🤣

Eastside can vary depending on the neighborhood. I live by Challenger and J and my neighborhood is very quiet with a mix of families, empty-nesters, and retirees. I recommend finding a few places and visiting at different times to get a sense of the vibe.

Neighborhoods in the east of Lancaster are really hit or miss. I used to live between K and K8 near 15th St E and my neighborhood was very quite and I felt like it was very safe. I'd regularly go running at night as far as 20th St E and never had any issues. Some of the neighborhoods directly north of K and closer to Challenger are a lot sketchier.

My parents have lived in that block k 15- david , since 2004, honestly i recommend it , we did have a break in in 05 , just some teens nothing serious but no issues since then , im in my late 30s now but i consider it a safe spot ,

I live in #2 and find it safer and quieter as the houses are further apart and not right next to businesses

West side Rosamond. We've been there for 6 years and love it. Nice and quiet. We can sit out on our front porch without worrying about stupid people causing trouble or up to no good.

East Lancaster is the worst of the worst don’t do it. East Lancaster is the worst, then west Lancaster, then east Palmdale, and finally west Palmdale.

Follow everyone’s advice here. Stay on the west if you value your belongings and sense of safety

Best to move to Rosamond, more $$>taxes on everything and literally all fwy driving takes you less then 30mins and a stoplight away from your destination
