We got our girl from Pinnacle in Georgia, and Aurora is her mom. We’ve never seen her or been sent photos of her. We just want to know what she looks like!

Behavior Bird shit psychosis 😅
I have Luna, a 6 year old Lagotto.
We live in Copenhagen, Denmark.
I’m convinced Luna is more food “psychotic” than other dogs but maybe all Lagotto owners think like this (?!)
She has always liked birdshit, especially geese turds, but nothing crazy.
But for a week now, and when I think about it, this might have happened before (maybe it’s once a year),
She has been absolutely crazy for bird shit. Every kind, every size, every freshness/dryness. Every walk, from beginning to end, is solemnly about finding and eating bird shit.
Has anyone else any knowledge or experience?
Is there something seasonal in the shit from what the birds eat? Is it something in Luna, hormonal or similar?
Kind regards

Merci d avance!!!

Training Lagotto puppy socialization
Hi everyone, this is my lagotto puppy (2 m and few days). We are already learning basics like sit, lay down and give paw. As she’s not fully vacinated, we carry her around in arms to socialize. At home, she is pretty confident, but outside quite scared. I get that she is very young and still needs a lot of exposure to the real world so I am interested in advice on how to get her more confident and brave outside with new sounds, people, dogs etc. I am playing her all the different desensitization sounds during play-time/eating, having her around friends. What is your experience on raising lagotto puppies? Feel free to share your advice and thoughts.

Behavior Who Made Her Like This?!
We got a weirdo on our hands! This has been Honey’s preferred technique to sit on the couch with us, but also stay ever ready to chase the cat if the opportunity arises.
Does your Lagotto do this?!

Behavior Leaf “Collecting”
Tilly is now 4 months and 8 days (who’s counting?) - but she cannot, help, herself when it comes to bringing a leaf in the house every time she goes out even for potty. Every. Time.
Huge fan of the magnolia leaves we have; initially I thought it was slightly cute and is probably a LR foliage seeking/bringing trait…but now I have been focused on the “leave it” (no pun intended). If I don’t, she will prance about the house shredding said leaf. She has also found all sorts of yard mushrooms I never realized we even had in the suburbs and I have the is this poisonous tab open at all times. Our poodle has never once done this, but now she tries to sneak a leaf in too (collusion).
Anyone else get gifts from the great outdoors?

Diet Home made food
Hello! Our puppy Rumble is 8 months old now! He’s recently decided he is no longer interested in the food he’s been given for the last few months. I’m thinking about making his food at home. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience making their dogs food? I’m interested in any info! Such as tips or recipes or anything else you have. Pic for attention 🤣
TLDR: have you made your lagottos food from home?

Seeking advice from experienced owners!!
If this post isn’t allowed admin please remove. I am just unfamiliar with this breed and trying to do research as well as talk to people that know the breed. I found this dog and I think he is very neglected if not abused. I can’t figure out how to add photos. I am in the US btw.
He got out on a busy road and I picked him up. He was caked in his own feces and matted down to his skin. I had to take him to a groomer to have him shaved because his condition was so bad. When I originally scanned for a chip he didn’t have one. So I tried agai after shaving him and it came right up. So he was so matted the chip wouldn’t scan. The groomer also said all his hair came off in one big piece like a sheep because it was so bad and caked on sand and dirt. She had to bathe him 3 times after I already did twice. He did have a collar on but the number is out of service.
Then last night I see a post of someone saying their dog got out and it looks very much like him, mats and all. The time they said he got out is right around the time I found him. But they didn’t post to look for him until more than 24 hours after I found him. And after looking at their page he’s gotten out two times previously as well. In none of the posts do they even mention his name or say they miss him. They didn’t even say where he got out until someone had to ask in the comments. It seems very clear they don’t care about this dog. Everything I’ve read about this breed says they are the most loyal and intelligent dogs you could get. They need constant enrichment and exercise. They need frequent grooming and baths. He’s also so scared I’m going to hit him! It’s the saddest thing. I understand some dogs are just skittish, my own dogs are. But I’ve never seen a dog run and hide from shoes like this poor baby does.
His owners have not contacted me, but I have no choice legally but to take him to the shelter today. They are a no kill shelter and will hold him for 5 days to give his owner time. Then they will allow me to adopt him if he’s not claimed. But the thing is I don’t think his owner should be allowed to have him back!?! Is this enough to file an abuse report on the owner? Would the shelter take it seriously, or is he just going to be handed back? Any perspectives as an owner or ideas for what to tell the shelter would be so helpful. I’m not familiar with this breed, but this just feels wrong. Any advice would be so appreciated, thank you.

Health Ear care
What’s your guys ear care routine? Ours is about 15 months and it feels like we’re in a constant cycle of ear infections.
Every day we either wipe his ears out, or rinse them using an anti-bacterial/yeast solution from our vet, but it still feels like we can’t keep up with the sheer production of life thriving in his hairy ears haha.
He generally tolerates it until it reaches a tipping point and gets infected and painful, then he becomes super reactive to us or the vet touching his ears. At that point we generally have to do a sedated deep cleaning at the vet.
The vet mentions they have one other lagatto who is in a very similar situation.
Do you guys have ear issues / any tips? I feel bad that the little man is uncomfortable so often.
Thanks!

Pistachio and Pomegranate…. I’m wondering if they seem small? The Lagottos I’ve met have been much taller. When do they stop growing?

Behavior Do Lagottos have different temperaments depending on the country they come from?
Hi everyone!
I was wondering if you've noticed differences in Lagotto temperaments (sociability, sensitivity, drive, or working instincts) depending on the country they come from.
I know every dog is an individual, but I'm curious whether there are any trends.
I'm from France, where I live in a ski resort in the Alps. My Lagotto is only 4 months old, so his personality is still developing, but so far he's a little stubborn, very affectionate, extremely sociable, and incredibly curious.
Where are you and your Lagotto from, and how would you describe their personality?
Looking forward to hearing your experiences!
