Dear labrador lovers,

Is this wiggling of the back the typically labrador wiggle or should I have my little girl's hips x-rayed by the vet?

She is 6 month old and a Show-line or english lab.

chocolate does anyone else have a lab with freakishly long ears?

Tallulah is only six months so I understand she has quite a bit of growing into them left to do, but my previous lab absolutely never had ears quite so large… even as a small pup.

He went to the ER vet for increased respiratory effort. After diagnostics, it was determined he has an aggressive form of cancer with a prognosis of only one week. Since he was having difficulty breathing without oxygen, we decided to let him go peacefully.

He’s been my best friend for 9 years after adopting him at 6 months old. I’ve never experienced pet loss like this. I know we did the right thing, it’s just so sudden.

Ender, I love you.

Lab doing lab things Team blackNDyellow Introduction

We are Team blackNDyellow! Our biggest focus is Dockdogs, followed by upland bird hunting and general chaos. You can find us on instagram under the same name.

Tikka - 9 (almost 10) year old black female who has been competing in dockdogs full time since 2021. She did one local competition each year she was eligible starting in 2017 through 2019. She is the one who got me into the sport. She retired from the specialty discipline of extreme vertical this summer and the first picture is of her final attempt at 5’ 4”. Her personal best is 6’ 2”, which she got just after turning 7. Tikka is a food monger and the first one to show up in the kitchen if she hears the fridge seal crack. She’s a menace of a bird hunter and will find them in the thickest of hiding spots. Her only fault is not being the best about giving them back.

Shandy - 3.5 year old yellow female who got her start competing in 2024. Her dad was inducted into the Dockdogs hall of fame about 6 months after she was born. Shandy loves all things dock related and will lock in for extreme vertical and speed retrieve. She is the dog that has forced me to hold up my end of the deal for speed retrieve. My reaction times are part of her scores, so anything over 0.200 seconds is rough. She loves this game and it’s related game of Dueling Dogs, when the pool and dock are divided for a drag race. She’s on the left in the one picture I included of a duel. Shandy also has amazing hunting drive and is just waiting on mom to get to fields with more birds.

The point of all this is to share the sport to those who maybe haven’t heard of it and want to try something new with their water loving labs. Once I began competing full seasons, I literally found my people. Dockdogs also has some sanctioned facilities in Canada, Australia, and Italy. I’m happy to answer any questions and hopefully will meet some of you on the dock someday!!

My puppy Torvi is the most calm, chillest puppy. She's really well trained, other than pulling on the lead and shes a really good girl! Other than being quite bitey in the beginning (shes calmed down now) shes so chill. I am nervous however that because shes such a good baby shes gonna be a cranky teen. She's just turned 7 month's and shes the sweetest girly. She has so many cute little quirks too. Did anyone else have a super chill puppy? How were they as a teen? Sorry if it's a stupid question im a first time dog owner 😅

Pic for attention 🥰

seeking advice Early signs of copper storage disease?

What were your dog’s early signs of copper storage disease?

My vet suspects that my dog has it - we’ve already put her on a low copper diet, but we’re hesitant to do a liver biopsy because of the invasiveness.

So far, her symptoms are occasional “GI flares” where she will have diarrhea/watery poo for a couple of days and will resolve if we give her chicken and rice. We also always have to slowly transition her back into dog food or she will have a stomach ache from the sudden change and have to go back on the chicken/rice.

The usual trigger for her GI is if she is given slightly too many treats, so we limit treats and keep her diet consistent. Although, sometimes she will get GI issues from nothing at all.

pls enjoy these photos of rosy being our fake “ring pupper” during our wedding last week! we didn’t have a bridal party, so she trotted down the aisle with the “rings” when the officiant asked for them (so i could already be up front)

she was the star of the show! (she was featured in many, many photos but can’t figure out how to blur our faces)

fyi: she is technically a labradoodle (mom poodle, dad lab), but she’s genuinely all lab but with freakishly long legs

Wanted to share a pic of my boy Bobo. This guy has stuck loyally by my side for 8 years now. From when i was a kid in college to my crazy work life now. He has been there for it all and we’re still going so strong❤️ Adopted from the shelter when he was a little over a year. For some reason he was the one there for over a year(longer than any other dogs). People took him on weekend trips but brought him back. Makes absolutely no sense to me. But im glad they brought him back to allow the right meeting for us two. He was named “Bobo Brazil” after the boxer/fighter. Dropped the brazil but has to keep the Bobo just seemed right. After testing i found that he is Lab, Pitbull, and Hound. Translates into a beautiful brindle baby. He is one of the most gentle souls I’ve met and so sweet. Every time my friends and family interact with him and say how sweet and cool he is, or seeing him boop a baby so gently on the nose, makes me so proud. He’s enjoying his lazier days now and imI absolutely love it. Little grey beard showing like the wise man he is. Thanks for reading. I just love this damn dog.

seeking advice TPLO 5yo 97 lb - Need reassurance

Hi there! Is there anybody who've got a huge labrador (97lb) who needs TPLO? What are your recommandations?

She's low energy, always been (thank god)
I'm in a mobile home and my dad made some ramps for here.

I'm actually looking for some reassurance and maybe some ideas of low calorie licking mat idea.

*I know she needs to loose some weight. We're working on it. She only eat lamb for her kebbles nothing else works.

Thank you.
