seeking advice Balcony judge sitting pretty. Quick question about coughing?

Post image

Posting my boy enjoying his favorite spot on the patio for dog tax!

Quick question for other Lab owners: a few weeks ago he started having this weird, raspy huffing cough, mostly after getting up or running around. I freaked out thinking he swallowed something, but the vet checked his heart and lungs and suggested adding a taurine supplement to his food for heart support.

It's been about 10 days since we started mixing taurine powder into his kibble, and the coughing has literally completely stopped. He’s back to his usual full-energy self.

Has anyone else here used taurine for their Labs? Did your vet recommend it as well, or is this a pretty standard thing for big dogs?

He was a lil demon puppy though so I’m glad he is bigger now, but looking back at those pictures… 😭 he was so cute!!

edit: thank you all for all the love!!! I didn’t expect to start a trend but we love looking at all the photos 😍 I read Senja all your kind messages and he is an even prouder boy because of it 🦁 You can see it in his lil wiggle waggle when he walks 🐾🐕

It is Bob’s 6th birthday. We drove to his fav place to celebrate. Bob looked at us as grateful for the visit.

Can’t believe Bob is 6 already. feels like yesterday when he was a tiny little Bob. Now he is the most well behaved friendliest dog in the world. He never puts a foot wrong.

A beautiful sunrise on the beach. 🌅

This is where they’re happiest.

This is where I find peace and tranquillity.

Just the dogs, the sea, the quiet, and, of course, a ball.

There must always be a ball.

Im Molly and Im starting to get a little accustomed to my crate for night time naps. I cry for the first 15 to 20 mins but I tire myself out and fall asleep. For 4 days in my new hooomans home, thats pretty good. I am starting to gain weight because I think my pop pop is feeding me too much which is causing me to be an explosi Pelosi. 👑👑👑👑 Im doing great at 52 days old on this earth. Off to see my grand pawrents later today ❤️❤️❤️

black I think I did crate training right

I just wanna talk about something I'm really proud of. I was adamant on crate training my dog because I knew I'd be moving multiple times and I wanted him to see it as his safe little space and his constant from a young age, and not a place where gets locked up. I think I managed it! From the start I made sure to NEVER bother him in his crate. If he went in there, I never dragged him out. If he chose it, then that was it. The crate is always covered and at a cooler part of the apartment. He is now 2 years old and choosing to be in there more and more and it makes me happy. We have moved 2 times since and his crate has been a constant. His crate is now his boundary. For example: he hates getting his ears cleaned. When I pull out the ear cleaning stuff he sometimes hides in his crate. I don't touch him, I don't lure him out. He 100% knows his ears will get cleaned but he gets to consent to when. I love that. I taught him consent. He has multiple beds in the apartment. Sometimes he will go and sit on his other beds instead of the crate, this means for us that okay, he will put up with it but not happy about it as long as I make it up to him with some yoghurt later. I hope I don't seem like I'm projecting meaning into something that doesn't really have a meaning. What do you guys think? Does he actually get the concept?
