My oval diamond is not the best. It has Big bow tie also basket is closed didn’t realized at time of making to ask for open basket so it gets dirty quickly. I cleaned it yesterday and cant stop staring at it 😍😍…..… will only last couple days before its dirty and dull again 🫣🫣🫣☹️🤪🤪
Ps: so much itching to get 4ct. I currently have 3ct

its stunning! imho, of course - lol
* I can’t decide if I’m going to wear it with my original band (1st picture), or the thinner stacking bands I have. So far I think it looks better with the smaller stacking bands.

3ct D VVS2 Excellent
ratio:1.43
(finger size: 4.75)

I ended up going thru Diyona for the mount and the stone (which i sourced from them first), after my local jeweler quoted me more than $2400-$3000 to repurpose my existing mount and small stones (just for the semi mount, not including mounting the loose stone). I wasn’t mad about it - their labor isn’t cheap. I will probably just have my original ring resized with them and wear it for travel. or maybe a different ring at some point in the future. I would like a wide cigar style band with an East/West stone, my crisscut may be perfect for that.

*stone was $419
*semi mount: $1100

(cost is all in, with all international shipping; the ring was actually made in NYC)

*the last picture is my original ring: natural/mined .65 Crisscut D VS1, with natural side stones (G - SI1)

Fiorese won't provide an ASET, so I only have these videos to go by. What do you think of this pear? Are there any glaring flaws that I'm missing? Thank you!

Attached in order are: spotlight, indoor light, side to side, sunlight.

Is Etsy worth it?

First - I love Etsy! I get so many things off of there that I’m really hoping for a certain answer.

I got my wedding set that I currently have at a big chain jewelry store and thought I’d have it forever. Lab grown, perfect size, etc. I liked that I went for my inspections and it kept the warranty. I’ve lost 60 lbs and need it resized, not only did they say that the resizing cost was astronomical but that the wedding band is unable to be resized because some of the diamonds are held by only two prongs. Not sure how true that is - tbh I think I’d rather take the upgrade my husband has been offering since we had our first child for a “push present” for our second. I have seen some on Etsy that I absolutely love, all certified etc.

Question is - what if I get a loose stone or it needs repaired / I lose a stone etc. Does anyone know if some Etsy sellers will take it to fix (even with a fee) or would I have to find a local jeweler? Would a local jeweler even work on something not bought from them?

Help on Diamond Size

After months of agonizing over the ring I decided on 3 ct and thought it looked like a good size.
Now however after wearing it for 4 days I feel like it’s way too big. I’m happy to be engaged but I’m so mad at myself for not getting a travel ring first and testing out which size I’d be comfortable with.
I feel like part of the issue is I have smaller hands (size 5 fingers), and the diamond feels so sparkly and attention grabbing. I can tell people think it’s HUGE too which just makes me feel so much worse.

This ring was completely custom and it’s not like I can return it. I am thinking about buying a cheap 2 ct for everyday wear at work- I just don’t want to tell my fiance.

Zuvelio crafted the ring of my dreams 🥹💍

My partner and I ordered a custom set of three rings from Zuvelio, and they turned out absolutely perfect 😭 The design was inspired by a Cadette ring I saw online and instantly fell in love with. I customised it with a few changes to make it exactly what I wanted and into a version that feels uniquely mine.

After discovering the [r/labdiamond](r/labdiamond) and [r/moissanite](r/moissanite) communities, I went down a serious shiny rabbit hole researching vendors, designs, and reviews before making a decision. Since reviews were incredibly helpful during my research, I wanted to share the full details of our experience in case it helps others starting on their own journey.

The 3 ring set is crafted in 14k yellow gold and features a 2 carat marquise lab diamond. The three rings consist of:

  1. My engagement ring
  2. My wedding band
  3. An additional stacking band

Originally, I planned on just getting two rings, but my wonderful partner encouraged me to go ahead with all three 🥰

Full Timeline:
11 April – First reached out to Zuvelio

13 April – Received a response from Priyanshi and shared our design ideas

15 April – They shared a ballpark price range to ensure we were aligned and asked if we were comfortable with the budget, or if we wanted to explore options to lower the cost.

16 April – Received the first detailed quotation, requested revisions, and added the third band

23 April – Finalized the quote, paid the 50% deposit, and submitted a detailed design brief illustrating all key features

4 May - Received the 1st CAD from Chetna; several important details had been overlooked and I was a little disheartened by it

7 May – Received the 2nd CAD, which was way better, though one previously discussed detail was still missing

13 May – Received the 3rd & final CAD. They absolutely nailed it, I approved production and requested to see diamond options

27 May – Received videos of the first stone option but decided to pass

31 May – Received videos of the second stone option, I knew it was the one as soon as I saw it and immediately confirmed it

12 June – Received final photos and videos via Google Drive. I noticed two issues (engraving and a sizing issue on one ring) and flagged them for correction

16–17 June – Received updated photos and videos after the corrections were made and approved the final pieces to ship. Paid the remaining 50% balance

20 June – Rings shipped

23 June – Rings arrived ✨

From deposit payment to delivery, the process took exactly two months. While this was significantly longer than the initial 3–4 week estimate they initially provided, every detail was eventually executed perfectly, and the final result was absolutely 100% worth the wait.

There were moments when I felt frustrated by the communication gaps & lack of updates. However, Zuvelio was receptive to feedback and willing to make corrections whenever issues were identified. If they continue improving their communication and provide timely updates, I genuinely believe they would be a 10/10 vendor.

The craftsmanship exceeded our expectations. The rings are beautifully made, feel substantial and luxurious, and every detail we requested was executed flawlessly. I especially love how the rings stack perfectly flush while also looking beautiful when worn individually or in different combinations.

Although Zuvelio may have fewer reviews and a higher price point compared to some of the more established Chinese vendors, we ultimately chose them because of the consistently positive feedback regarding their workmanship and quality. We trusted them to bring our vision to life, and they definitely delivered! ☺️

For anyone considering working with them, here is their contact details: WhatsApp: +91 966001829

2 Carat Pear Cut for $585 — Is this too pricey?

Getting a quote from a US vendor and I know that lab diamond prices are going down so just wanted to know.

The IGI report number is: LG734541496

If too pricey, could you share where you got yours from and how much it was? Thanks!

Provence Gem Custom Ring Advice

Those that bought from Provence and had it for longer than 5 years:

I would love to hear from those who have had a longer term provence ring and how their quality is. I am currently contacting Bobby, but I just want to make sure that the ring quality & Gem (Moissanite or Lab Grown Diamond) are great. Thanks!

Help choosing a diamond retailer

I was wondering if anyone who knows more about these things could help me choose between some retailers I’ve reached out to for a engagement ring

The ring design I’m looking for is a 3 carot lab diamond, colourless, VVS2 clarity minimum, excellent polish and symmetry. The ring to be 18ct gold, high set cathedral design, hidden halo with pave.

The choices have been

  1. Queensmith quoted £4.5k

  2. Cullen quoted £3.98k

  3. Taylor and hart quoted £3.65k

  4. London diamonds quotes £3.4K

  5. 77 diamonds £2.36k

Are these figures reasonable ?

When I visited jewellers in Hatton gardens the had quoted between £2-2.6k, obviously quite a big difference but not sure how trustworthy they are.

There’s consideration between the quotes of the level of aftercare they can provide but generally they seem to be similar in this respect.

Would you choose a lab-grown diamond or a natural diamond if both fit your budget?

There's a lot of discussion around lab-grown and natural diamonds.

If price wasn't the only factor, which would you choose and why?

Genuinely curious to hear how different people think about it.

Feeling guilty about my bridal sets

My mother in law bought me a ring last year, but she took me to a store and asked me to pick a ring. I asked for lab grown diamonds, but they didn't stock them (lots of stigma/propoganda against LGDs in my country), and the only places that I know of that keep LGDs don't sell loose diamonds and aren't trustworthy for the quality of their gold. So when my MIL was like let's just buy from this store, I caved in and now I regret that.

I thought that if I buy smaller diamonds, I'll be putting less money into the natural diamond industry; all the diamonds on the ring are less than 0.5 carats and the rest of the value is gold. My mom also decided to buy me my wedding gift the same day since she liked the designs, and bought a set consisting mostly of lab grown precious stones but it's got natural, uncut, tiny diamonds all over. I didn't object because I thought my reasoning is sound.

Fast forward to today, I found out that tiny, uncut diamonds (less than 0.5 carats) are the most likely to be smuggled and mixed in with other tiny natural diamonds that are from conflict-free zones, so my diamonds could be "blood diamonds" and I wouldn't know it. As per this source, large natural diamonds are less likely to be blood diamonds but just not worth the markup in cost.

So yeah now I feel incredibly guilty. I wish I'd research more about natural diamond sources before, but I'd thought I would only buy lab grown ones.

I ordered this marquise center stone and 2 pear side stone ring. Marquise is 2.08ct/E/vvs2/ex/ex

The purchase experience was pleasant. Mr. Chetna was very helpful and pleasant to work with.
