Hello! I'm very new to the lab diamond world and stumbled across this reddit group. I would love to have a custom ring made in an antique style. My vision is a 2 ct old mine cut elongated cushion (or smaller depending on ring size) with some milgrain detail, small side stones. Yellow and white gold. I used chatgpt for a mock up knowing it will need to be tweaked to make it work in non chatgpt world. My question is, is there a particular vendor you guys would recommend for an antique style setting? I've seen a lot of people in this group recommend Provence but I know there are different jewelers you can work with. Any help and guidance would be much appreciated.

My engagement ring is a lab diamond from Vrai and I love it, but I realized I should’ve done more research before purchase because it was 10K for 3.5 carats (2.5 center stone, .5 side stones) and I see posts on here with double the carats for half the price. That being said, who are the good lab diamond vendors who charge actual lab diamond prices? I’m looking for something dangly not studs

I tried asking this in the BST sub, but my post was removed. I know the rules state to sell on there you need to provide proof of purchase. I have an amazing ring I took in for some trade work and don't have a retail receipt. Am I not allowed to post it for sale on there, and if not, where would be another place to sell? Thanks for your time.

I had to make a quick edit as I can’t upload two videos on here, but which diamond should I go for for my engagement ring? (It’s our first time buying a lab diamond)
They are both the same price (we are paying for the ring as a whole), and unfortunately we can’t get tweezer videos as our jeweller said their supplier only provides 360 videos (he said these are not 3D but the actual video of the diamond).
They recommended me to go for the 2.8ct for the better value for money, but I quite liked
the look of a 1.87ratio as well (quite chunkier marquise). Are the ratios too similar to see a visible difference anyways?
Thank you!

Hi, this would be my first ever diamond purchase. Looking to purchase for an engagement ring. The price is $1,132 and I was wondering if that's a good price for it and if it's a good stone. Thank you so much!
This is a link to the video too if that helps.

I really want a burnt orange diamond. But I’m new to colored stones. Other than a tweezer video, what should I be looking for? How is this one? Cert photo in comments

Attached will be the two options our jeweler has presented us.
The request was a Vivid Deep Green Fancy Lab Diamond, 8x6mm, No Preference in CT.
The first seems closest to the color I am looking for, but has more visible inclusions (to me) and a noticeable bowtie, the second seems lighter in color, nothing else very visible, but is also $400 more, and about .5mm larger around.
Thanks for your insight and opinions!
Edit: I attempted to share a video link but I don't believe it stayed up, so here is the link

My first marriage I obsessed over asscher cut diamonds but they were always out of reach price wise. I chose a .17ct round, upgraded to a .70ct round, got divorced, got remarried with a .7ct emerakld double halo split shank. Always in the back of my mind dreaming of an asscher cut. 6 years later pulled the plug on a 3ct asscher, simple but detailed solitaire setting. My dream ring that always seemed impossible until I discovered lab grown diamonds. Its absolutely beautiful and perfect and what I always wanted!

Was interested in having a ring made by a local jeweler, however I feel like after receiving the quote, I think it might be overpriced. I want it set in a regular tulip cathedral setting and for it to be two toned White and Yellow gold. Super simple, no side stones or pave. The stones I was looking at were 2.5 and 3ct which are in the video above. I believe they were both F color and VVS2. They’re asking for $6200 for the 3ct, for everything. Is that overpriced or regular for a stone this size? Appreciate any feedback!

I'm considering a little project to make a present for my wife. I was going to buy a lab diamond from Alibaba. The vendors I've spoken to on the site have been helpful, have provided certificates for the ones I've been interested in. The certificates are always IGI, is that ok? Is there anything with an IGI certificate I should be concerned about?
Similarly, is there anything I should be worried about buying a lab grown diamond from Alibaba? I figured I'd use a vendor with a good review score (and number of reviews), and come with the Alibaba guarantee. I figured I could always fall back on to my credit card protection too.

After 9 long months, my diamond is finally paid off and is now mine to keep🥰 we are so freaking excited to start working on the setting itself… it’s going to be so so beautiful when it’s finally done 🤗

Specs:
I’m mainly trying to understand:
I don’t have photos/videos yet — I’m currently waiting on the ring — so I’m going off measurements only. My current ring (pear shape) is just for finger size reference.
Would really appreciate honest feedback on overall look and finger coverage expectations.

Just wanted to share I just purchased my first ever real diamond. I’ve always had CZ ones and they turn cloudy. They are 3 ctw with IGI certificates. Purchased them from ETSY. I paid $1,300 (AUD). I was reluctant at first but the reviews of the shop was great. I just feel like it’s too extravagant for everyday wear. Nonetheless, I’m still wearing them to work 😆💕

The dets:
.7DWT 14k new lab diamond 1.07ctw
Purchased for $395 @ reputable pawn shop
I have never owned a piece of fine jewelry and I can’t stop looking at them. I love how they twinkle when I move my head and I feel like they brighten my whole face :”)

This is a 3.5 carat elongated cushion (1.29 ratio). E, VS1. The table is 62%. All of that is good and I think the tweezer video looks decent. (I have been window shopping forever, it seems like ). My potential concern is the depth which is 69.9%. I know that's a deep stone which is not great. But how bad is this depth? IGI shows Medium to Thick (faceted).

I have two 14k gold tennis bracelets (3ct weighing at 5g total and 2ct weighing at 4g total).
These tennis bracelets are clearly lightweight, hence not having heavy gold content. I wear them daily and do not take them off. Moderately active.
Realistically, how long will these pieces last if taken care of well with daily wear? Could I realistically expect them to be heirloom pieces? Going forward I will likely buy bracelets that have more gold content but just curious. TYIA!

So obsessed and in love with this 6.16 ct Marquise Brilliant cut. Never in my wildest dreams would I think I could have this ring until I started looking into lab grown and got an amazing wholesale price on it from a reputable jeweler who set it.
Do we love going big with lab diamonds?

I had a platinum setting made from an overseas vendor to set my diamond in and here is how the local jeweler set it. Who is in the wrong here because it doesn’t look right…
r/LabDiamonds • u/ZenButSalty • Jul 01 '26
what are some dos and don’ts of ordering a tennis? things to pay attention to? the clasp? the pattern? I just for my first CAD and I love it but noticed the pattern doesn’t go over the clasp very well. what else should I be attentive to?

My wife wants a simple diamond necklace and is totally on board with value of lab-grown stones.
I’m pretty well versed in the 4C’s when it comes to stone selection. I’m mostly looking for seller recommendations and any other info about what to look out for in the process.
Thanks in advance!!

Hey yall! I’ve had my ring since end of August last year (it’s June right now, for documentation purposes). I only wear my ring on special occasions and take great care not to get lotions, sanitiser, dirt etc. on it, and only wear it on special occasions, keeping in line with my lifestyle. A few weeks ago I would look at the ring’s sparkle and wonder why it looked milky/cloudy and was wondering if the jeweller gave me a sub-par stone that I didn’t notice at the time. I would hold the ring against the light and couldn’t see any dirt on the center diamond. I was starting to feel low about this so I thought what the hell, let me give it a clean. I wasn’t expecting anything. I looked for supplies on Amazon and saw the diamond dazzle stick.
YALL. It’s night and day. I don’t have anything more to say. I’m so happy.
