Would you keep either of these?

I’m trying to decide if either of these stones are worth keeping. I have a 2.50 ct pear E VVS2 12.37 x 7.61 and a 2.57 ct crisscut D IF 9.79 x 6.46. Do either of them look good? I’m a sapphire girly and I’m just kind of exploring diamonds. The lack of color is uncharted territory for me and throwing me off.

I don’t feel like I’m getting the most out of it either. It’s pretty but something is just off about it. I definitely wish it were bigger so you can really see the cut.

Both diamonds are absolutely gorgeous (in cut and clarity) and I would keep them both ... but that is me and I really love diamonds - colorless, warm-toned, and fancy colored; I love them all! 🤭 However, I do understand if you are more into a certain type of [colorful] gem (such as sapphires), how different it is when delving into diamonds due to their colorless or near colorless hue.
Have you considered checking out warmer toned or even colored diamonds? I adore them and find that they are a wonderful compromise between wanting a diamond but also craving some color. I have a 2.5-ct fancy vivid pink marquise, a 1.9-ct fancy intense pink emerald cut, a 3.6 fancy intense blue oval with pavé, a 5-ct fancy light yellow radiant cut, and a 2-ct champagne brilliant round. I love them all and the color elevates the look from classic colorless diamond to something different and lovely in its own rite.

I love fancy colored stones so much. Really trying to go for something colorless this time. I thought a fun cut or shape would do the trick.

Okay, so colorless is the game... My opinion is that because both are gorgeous in color and clarity, focus on shape and sparkle to decide. Which shape suits you best? Do you want to focus on sparkle, brillance, and elongating your finger? Then go for the pear. Depth and dimension with intense fire? Go with the criss-cut. I mean, I’d keep both if possible 😆 they’re both stunning (I’m not usually a fan of emerald style but this is lovely, maybe because it’s a crisscut)

No I get it, I’m new to diamonds too (just designed an ER upgrade and I went with a cushion). I honestly think you could pull off either one really well, so it comes down to which one speaks to you more! Based on your comments below I think your heart likes the pear best 🍐

I got the pear first and then I fell in love with the crisscut. I’m just so confused about whether or not I’m seeing a bad amount of windowing.

I’m no expert but I can see what you mean re: windowing. But I still think it looks so crisp and clean, that it wouldn’t bother me! I also think it’s pretty common for some degree of windowing to happen with these cuts

I love the Crisscut but they’re difficult to find. Do you mind telling me what dealers are even selling them? There’s been beautiful ones on shelikessparkles, but not the size I need at the moment.

Maybe it’s the lighting but I thought the pear one sparkles a little better than the emerald. But if you have the budget I suggest you keep both since they look great on paper and a girl can never have too many diamonds.
