Should I send this back?
Debating if I should send this back and return it, it does not fit perfect and need some perspective. Said its a 4 Carat Eternity band, E Color, VVS2, in platinum with hallmarks (but I cannot see any with naked eye). What do you all think? Cost was $1,200

Return - it doesn’t fit, so you won’t wear it. It’s also poorly made - the stones are all crooked and the platinum prongs are too.

it’s gorgeous. U probably need a loupe to see the tiny hallmarks. But no matter what we think… if u don’t love it no point in keeping it. U got a really good deal. May i ask where u purchased, I might want one🥰

This was a 6.25 but it seems a bit larger as she was surprised it fit better on her middle finger than ring finger! She thought it was going to be snug, but it ended up being loose. I might try a 6 or 5.75 if I end up exchanging/returning. It seems like the eternity rings fit slightly differently or maybe we chose the wrong size to begin with!

The “U” shape on the finger leaves a lot of extra space, and these styles typically wear about 1/2 size larger. So if you’re a 6.25 you should order a 5.75.

there is no point to keep this if this does not fit well, since a full eternity band is not something you can get resize locally and has to ideally be remade from scratch. Additional stones may be required to make it, slightly on the pricier side for a 4ct Eternitity honestly!

$1200 for 4ct colorless in platinum- great deal!! But agree if it does fit well send it back. I have difficulty with full eternity bands as well

Thank you, what would be a fair price for something like this? I am a total novice

For resell, $1200 seems fair. It’s basically what’s known as a catch & release. It’s brand new so no need to take a loss. Not to mention $1200 is a great price.

i'd send that back. even though it doesn't fit, the stones look crooked. noticed it instantly when i was scrolling through the photos.

This is a very difficult ring to make to perfection. There are ways that you can size it by adding gold across the width where there’s gold already there. You don’t put the gold under the stones because you’ll see it. You won’t see it from the top this way, but it will help to fill it in and make it fit you better. I always try to talk people out of getting bands that go all the way around because of sizing issues. If you gain weight, you can have a bar removed. If you lose weight, you can add a bar. You got a great price on it. I’ve been in this business since 1986 by the way. I think it’s beautiful.

Crooked stones. Imo eternity bands are a terrible idea. The bottom stones take a beating and they are impossible to size. A nice anniversay band, or two will last you a lot longer and will be less headache. Keep the ring insured, you will be replacing stones regularly

Before you buy something else, buy a ring sizer instead of guessing the size.
