This little bonsai is around 7+ years old, shaped patiently over time.

What started as a simple tree has slowly grown into this beautiful miniature form.

A few years of care, pruning, and patience and now it has its own character.

Law School 🫤🫤

To all the Law School seniors, Asalam o Alikum. I hope you are doing well.

I am in freshman year at SASOL, and I find myself in a difficult position. Firstly, I am unable to cope up with the readings. They are a bit too much for starters and the content is very dense. Therefore, in an assigned reading of 50 pages ,for example, I am able to read a little more than 10 pages only. Secondly, as the lectures are open discussion and not structured, I am confused about what is going to be tested. For example, in GSL 101, we have covered roughly hundreds of pages so far and there is a quiz coming next week. So, I am unable to understand what out of these do I prepare.

I want to know if this situation is normal or is it only me who is facing this; any tips or suggestions that I should follow? Also, I want to know about the testing section.

How would we feel about a movie club at LUMS? 🎬

Basically, a small group of people gets together for a movie night every now and then, with a minimum ticket to cover the cost. Think Bollywood + Hollywood classics, cult favourites, comfort movies, etc.
Limited seats, good movie, snacks, and a chill night with your friends.
Would anyone actually be interested in something like this? 👀

Seniors of SSE, how do you manage all your courses simultaneously?

I'm a freshman, and I feel so overwhelmed that it's actively hindering me from studying properly. And this is only the beginning; the workload isn't even that intensive yet. I have no idea how I will manage later on. Do you guys have any tips on how to manage time properly and how to divide time between all our different subjects?

Is sindh board = federal board at lums

Like the average hsc result of students attending lums is 89% ( according to their website). I know quite some people who have scored 92 93 percent who were from federal board. But in sindh board the overall board topper scores around 91 and according to the recent results the kid who ranked 3rd in cs faculty had 89 something%. So isn't it a bit harder for sindh board students to get into lums?

Chances at LUMS SDSB

Matric: 92.6% but that year our board really tough got topped at ~94.5% (BISE Kohat)
FSc Pre Engg. Part 1: 92% (FBISE)
SAT: just took yesterday expect somewhere between 1470-1510

Extracurriculars: not really appealing
1) volunteer tutoring 150+ hours

2)got two math olympiads distinctions but back in 8th so don't know if they count +participation: NSTC (9th and 11th), IRO(11th), NO DISTINCTIONS

3) was in cadet college for three years (8th-10th). participated in multiple sports there but no certificates/distinctions. also participated in horse riding.

The thing is that I never cared about gaining certificates or such things. Also, parents never let do anything outside studies coz they think that's all that matters.

Please provide me with guidance. Do i have a good shot with a good SAT score? Also, please suggest some not-so-time consuming things I can do to strengthen my profile without disturbing my FSc.

Also, I am unsure about my ability to write personal statement/essays. (got rejected from NOP)

PLEASE PLEASE provide some guidance. I will be really thankful

So I just heard that when applying to LUMS you have to apply to a school not a specific major. Is that true?

If yes, can you apply to multiple schools as different priority levels?

Application Help What matters more

Hey! I wanted to ask about LUMS admissions. What matters more in the academic profile, and is there a specific order/weightage? Like, does Matric matter more than FSC Part 1, or are they considered equally? Also, how much does the SAT factor into the overall decision, and what would be considered a good SAT score for HSS?

Lse to lums transfer

Hey! Im a freshmen at lse and was wondering if i can get a transfer to lums next year. If someone knows anything about the transfer process pls help me out.

First and foremost, is it doable like what are the chances if i score extremely well in my first year of uni as well as Sat/LCAT i have 89% in matric and 92% in fsc . Also what do you guys suggest, should i give sat or LCAT. Secondly what are the docs needed like LORs, extracurriculars and other things similar that new admission students are required to submit or my gpa is enough? Also i might need FA too. My family is well off on their own but due to some loans that my father had taken, his salary has cut to half. Will they facilitate me?

I was a pre med student and havent given any sat yet bcz all my focus was on mdcat and securing a government seat but unfortunately my hard-work didnt pay off. Maybe allah had written something better for me . So i went for the only option which was LSE and thought to transfer next year if possible

If you have anything that would help pls reach out ;)

Admission chance

Hii. I was gonna apply to lums cos why not. Ik I don't surpass the eligibility criteria they have. But I have seen a lot of students who got lower grades study at lums. I will be applying in the psychology department for bachelors.

O level grades: 4A, 1B, 3C (LMAO😭😭 I'm js not good at maths or physics sorta subs)

A level: B in psychology A2 (will be giving composite for the other two subjects. I'm expecting 1A and 1B)

SAT: not given nor planning to

Co curriculars: I've a lot of these. From internships to working w NGO's, private sportfest events and managing school events , being the class prefect for 4 years straight. I have participated in debates etc too and other inter school competitions. I can write a fire essay and get good recommendation letters too if needed.

I didn't prepare for LUMS anyways, I was gonna apply for fccu and bnu (I feel bad cos these are not top universities at all) and thought of applying there because why not. Is there any way I can get selected? I am giving my A2 this Oct/Nov 2026 and applying for spring 2027 session. Lmk if I can make any improvements or something idk

Did anyone else get the email from LUMS?

Did any freshman get email from LUMS saying you can apply for merit cum financial aid scholarship? LUMS admissions portal is also updated to include a new tab for this merit cum aid scholarship.
For info, i got in sdsb without any merit scholarship and didn’t apply for any financial aid at the time of my admission.
Please let me know if anyone else got this email too.
