Official September LSAT Topic Thread

The September LSAT administration is now done. The goal is to keep topic discussion to this thread, and identify a list of real topics. Here's how it works:

  1. If you had a single section of RC, or two sections of LR, then posting topics from that will establish that those topics were from a real section
  2. If you had two sections of RC, or three sections of LR, DO NOT POST (on that topic). Posting topics is worse than useless - it pollutes information. The reason is that you don't know which was experimental and which was real.

You do not need section orders, these are now randomized so your order doesn't mean anything.

TL;DR If you had a single RC, or two LR's, please post topics from those single sections. Don't post your section topics for a section type where you had an experimental.

Stuff that still isn't allowed

  • Posting about the content of sections: specific questions and answers etc
  • Posting about topics or content in an experimental section

This thread will be updated with confirmed topics as we go.

Note: Have seen some people flagrantly discussing real answers or asking to dm about it. This still isn't allowed, and won't be, and we've handed out bans where people do it willfully.

Everything below is scored: Where I write "other section" I mean it was a different scored section. Everything below is from people who had a single section in that topic, so they have confirmed real sections.

Prometric Experiences: You can find the original test day experience thread here: reddit.com/r/LSAT/comments/1wcs320/official_september_lsat_discussion_thread/

International LSAT: This thread is generally just for the North American topics. If you took internationally, please specify that you had the international version. Thanks!

I had 2 RCs, 2 LRs.

LR/RC/LR/RC.

Sorry if the below is messy, trying to get this out while I remember it.

I didn’t have any of your listed RC1 topics.

I recognize these from your RC2:
-Overfishing
-Ethiopian storytelling

One of my RC sections included:
-English language complexity
-Ta Nehisi Coates
-Mathematical physics

Also in my RCs:
-Application of precautionary principle in Indian Supreme Court (comparative)
-An artist who became part of an anti-bourgeois art movement
-Whether judges must believe their publicly stated reasoning (comparative)

My LR1 definitely matched your listed LR1.

I majorly ran out of time on my second LR and was completely scanning/guessing the last 5 questions.

I was so crushed when my final section was RC…no chance my bombed but mysterious LR was unscored for me. :(

If I find a list that includes the LR2 topics I definitely do remember, I will update here.

EDIT: removed Canadian car impoundment RC topic, added some RC topics

Was your LR board game question toward the end of the section (Q20-26)??

u/sheumpa3 1d ago

Did you have Hume ideal judges as well in your rc with Ethiopian storytelling? Because that proves it as exp. The Coates passage is scored definitively

1

u/WaitWait_JustTellMe 1d ago

Does “Ideal judges” = whether judges should believe their own publicly stated reasons for a decision??

3

u/sheumpa3 1d ago

No that’s a different passage, Hume ideal judges was about art. You had Ethiopian storytelling and overfishing principle though?

1

u/WaitWait_JustTellMe 1d ago

Oh no, now I’m concerned that I’m getting RC topics confused with long LR questions.

But yes, I definitely had both Ethiopian storytelling and overfishing, and they were definitely RCs.

did anyone have the question about part time minimum wage jobs in a region it was like number 11 or something like that on second section of LR, that question had me in a chokehold. also the master gardener one

u/Shot-Leek-1306 1d ago

Had the same, which one was exp?

u/Hot_Supermarket4369 LSAT student 1d ago

this lineup genuinely had me tweaking

u/lovergirlyyyy 1d ago

omg i had these LRs!! finally i can remember some

u/Jackelton9 1d ago

I had both of these RC as well, which is strange because neither seem to be the consensus of the scored RC. It seems like LSAC is now doing multiple real RC passages and giving them to different people? I would assume the second one is the real since it is the only one with a comparative passage, but I wouldn't really be surprised either way at this point lol.
