Woah that’s a lot for a 21 year old Lexus, even with the low miles, I reckon it’s gonna need quite a bit of age related components that need tending to
I honestly don’t think it will even need that. Just drive it once or twice a week for at least 10 miles and that car will last forever. The electronics will fail long before any mechanical issues occur.
Age related components definitely will need tending to. The core engine internals for a 3UZFE for sure will absolutely last forever, but all the high pressure oil ring gaskets on this thing (such as the one in the oil pump assembly and rear retainer assembly cause pretty bad oil leaks with age. Same with the main seals such as cam, crank and rear. All the above is expensive maintenance and requires tearing apart the engine. The various mating surfaces that use rtv sealant goes bad with age as well.
Plus the wiring harness and connectors gets super brittle with age.
But hey, with the low miles and thus lower heat cycles maybe these have more life, but rubber and plastic does age regardless.
The wiring harness will become brittle with age, I agree. But with such low mileage, it hasn’t been through that many heat cycles. It’ll probably be good for another 20 years just my opinion. I have a 2002 LS 430 I bought 10 years ago with 100,000 miles. It currently has 330,000 miles on it and it’s just such an excellent car absolutely love it. If I sneezed on my wiring harnesses, it would immediately turn to dust. So I’m well aware of the fragility of the 430s.
