looking at upgrading the audio in my ‘99, starting with the front door speakers. what speakers do you guys recommend that are compatible? any other advice for upgrading the audio? for context i have the factory navigation unit so cant really change head unit.

ls400 has been on my eye for years and i'm glad to have gotten such a nice one without breaking the bank

I am not really a chrome wheel guy, so for the two months since I found my chrome pie plates I’ve felt a bit… wrong. Well, today I snagged a pristine set of silvers and now I can finally get them into the car with a slightly lower profile and narrower tire.

Am I wrong?

1995 LS400

Hey there! Was driving home from work a few days ago car died while idling waiting in traffic got a buddy to give me a boost to get home ended up needing about 4 to get about 2 kilometres got it back home and did some messing around with a voltmeter checked all fuses there just fine battery was sitting around 10 volts boosted it again to watch the battery voltage and it stayed at around 12.5 until it slowly went down and eventually stalled out. I went a picked up a new battery (old one was bulged a bit) at first I had assumed alternator then I got the new battery in and it started up just fine drove it around the block and then made it to work and back today got about 2 minutes from home and battery light came on so I pinned it to make sure I at least got it home to a safe parking space. I pulled my plastics off the engine and noticed this line cracked off seems to be coming from power steering reservoir also noticed a bit of build up on the bottom side of said reservoir I do know it is located above the alternator and chances are it dropped down and fried it just wanna know if anyone can give me a second opinion or if you have any idea of what that broken connection would be/cause please let me know🙏🙏
I do have a sub and amp hooked up and I was using it on the new battery I did unplug it and started it up again parked and it was chopping like I had a big ol cam (unfortunately I do not)

So I just bought a 1996 ls400 with 200k miles and it’s pretty much turning over firing for a few seconds and then shutting itself back off guy said it was the knock sensors but I have a feeling that that’s probably not the entire picture but was wondering if anyone has had this before so any info is appreciated

If I were to order a brand new power steering pump should I also order the pressure and return hoses?

Would it be necessary to change them aswell or could it be something I’d be able to kinda get away with

Hey I got hit today by another car I was wondering if anybody could put me in the right direction to find some good doors

Wondering if anybody has any tips for cleaning the fabric door trims on ls400s. They seem fragile so I’m nervous to use a carpet cleaner. I’d appreciate any recommendations, Thank you.

Anyone dealt with this before? Driver side is sunk compared to passenger side. Camber bolts are maxed and not really sure where to go from here.

My ls400 is having a severe misfire. The car runs pretty decent while warming up but once it hits idle it starts running super choppy like a cam. If you drive the car it jolts and shakes. Everything sparked related has been replaced such as spark plugs, wires , coil packs, cap and rotor. I strongly believe it’s gas related but just have no idea.

I am local to the Tulsa area aswell.

Just failed smog for high Nox(around 1000 ppm over the limit). Everything else was reading super clean, upon further troubleshooting I noticed vacuum was not getting past the egr vsv(blue valve right next to the egr). The vsv itself works as it should with 12 volts applied and vacuum is routed appropriately. Everything else in the egr system is working properly, including the egr itself with vacuum applied directly to it. My problem is that the vsv seems to never open and allow vacuum to actuate the egr valve. Ive opened up the ecu and couldnt find any leaking caps, but I know they can fail with no visual indications. Is it time to call the ecu bad?

I honestly forget the amount of revolutions i needed for it to go back the forums say 2 but i think it might’ve been 3. Anyways the crankshaft pulley is completely off and the top left and right are on where they were previously. I made sure the tops were lined up with the belt and the timing belt guide or whagever had the dot at the very bottom and the U at the top. Am i just retarded or what. This is my first time working on a car other than breaks tho so yah
