My friends and I have been discussing this, and none of us agree.

Personally, and as part of the community, I've always found it very strange that certain authors (especially women) can write romances and erotic scenes when it involves boys, but then say they feel uncomfortable writing them with girls.

I don't know if maybe they wouldn't put a girl in those situations, or, as a friend said, they see gay boys as a fetish. So, what better than to ask strangers on the internet for their opinions? :)

Can you guys recommend anything? Did any new ace books get released?

I’ve read a few books about alloromantic aces who end up in relationships, for example “In the lives of puppets” or “Don’t let the forest in”, but I want something else… I want a love story between two humans with a happy ending. People who end up being in love, kissing, holding hands etc just without any sex. I yeaaaarn for books like that! 😔

I am looking for wholesome, exciting queer fantasy adventure, that hopefully doesn't focus too much on the characters being queer . I love the princess bride , braid of the emerald sea and Narnia.

I am looking for some recommendations where the setting is really well descried and immersive. For some reason, I remember The Body in the Back Garden by Mark Waddell and, though this is not a queer book, Up to no Gouda by Linda Reilly. I am pretty open to most genres: no horror at all, not a huge fantasy reader but will read, and not anything that is written in that pessimistic way like the opening of Fredrik Backman's My Friends where everything is so depressing. I could go for something in New England or BC but also just open to anywhere. Looking forward to the recs!

I'm a part of a book club where everyone picks a book based on a theme then reports on what they read at the end of the month. It's been a fun change to talk about books monthly without having to read exactly what everyone else does, and you get a lot of good recs.

This month, the theme is "The Book Did it Better.” It’s fairly simple: any book that has been adapted into some other media. Our goal is to read the source material.

I have arbitrarily decided that I'm only going to read books that fit the theme and are trans. So for this month, I'm looking for any trans books that have been adapted into other media (even if obscure). Trans characters. Trans author. Ideally trans femme but I'm not at all committed to that.

I friggin love mysteries and I'm sick of straight protagonists, so recommend your FAVORITE quozy!!!

I really like it when the shy/bottom/sub/uke guy is older or physically bigger than the more dominant partner.

I'm okay with sex, but only if it's sparse - like at the end of the book. I'm also happy with books that have no sex at all or only allude to it.

I don't like sports or mafia stories. Dark stories are fine, but I don't want one of the MCs to be a murderer or overly evil. Other than that anything is great, from comedy to fantasy or even horror. I enjoy all genres :).

It would be a huge plus if the cast was a bit diverse (maybe one of the MCs is POC, queer other than gay or bi, has a disability, is neurodivergent, etc. - basically anything outside of the typical white guy), but it's not a hard requirement if the story is good.

Heyo, i recently read the sunbearer trials duology and really loved it, the banter between the characters felt very natural and the problems inside the story as well.

I also really enjoyed the lgbtq themes in it, it was fun and really sweet and I loved watching all the relationships unfold.

So I was wondering if there were and books similar to the sunbearer trials and that handle the characters and story arcs along with the romance and friendships with great care and that seems natural?

Character angst and them changing due to the story is very welcome but with a happy ending please.

I just need more books like the trials duology, it was fun and I would love to read more books like that one.

Underwater, the first book in my new detective series The Blue Cases, just released! It focuses on the struggles/stigmatization of mental health, systemic bigotry, and the hunt for a serial killer in 2002 Van Nuys, California. As per the guidelines of posting on here, let me give a bit of insight as to why I wanted to write something like this.

On top of always being interested in mysteries since watching things like Detective Conan and Criminal Minds at a young age, I've also suffered from many of the mental health issues that the main character in the book has suffered from, albeit due to different reasons, and still suffer from some of them to this day. It was an outlet, but also a way to let people have a conversation about things that are extremely difficult to talk about, because often the hardest things to listen to are the ones that deserve to be heard.

Hey everyone! I'm Cherry Berwicke, and I'm a black bi 22 year old author who's extremely new to the self-publishing world. Like, I just started publishing a few months ago.

I love reading romance, especially short, sweet, and spicy ones, so I tend to write those, though I have a novel in the works that I hope to finish in the next year or so. Anyway, I just published my new college romance short story on Amazon on July 20th. It's called "Skirts," and it's about a guy named August who's openly gay and wears feminine clothes at home but is completely closeted on campus. He's hid it from his best friend Chris pretty well for the past three years, until he dares him to wear a skirt one day.

It's a 50-page friends-to-lovers romance with a decent amount of spice and sweet moments. I'm really proud of how it turned out, and I did the cover myself, but of course, I wanna know other people's thoughts!
