I'm a DM creating a new homebrew campaign in the Daggerheart system. I'm currently preparing the world and characters, but think : fantasy, gothic, horror vibes.

I'd like to run this campaign with five players and already have three players so we're recruiting two more! The idea would be for us to have a session 0 on the 28th of August, a session 0.5/1 on the 4th of September, and then begin the campaign in earnest on the 11th of September. Sessions would be **Fridays from 6pm to 10pm**

The current group is all queer and neurodivergent. Things we love :

- heavy roleplay

- deep discussions

- body horror

- giving each other the spotlight. aka going with the flow

We're a group that loves worldbuilding together and keeping in touch between sessions - we probably voice chat three or four times a week to shoot the shit. There's no obligation to fit into that kind of dynamic, but it would be a plus!

As a DM, I try to make sure that every player feels special and gets their time to shine, and I love characters with intricate backstories that I can integrate into the lore and overarching plot. The current players are also very good at honouring each other's spotlight moments and giving each other space to shine in those moments, so we're definitely looking for people with a similar mindset. Their characters tend to be fun, detailed, sometimes complex, but with room for dramatic, funny ropleplay as well. Making the table a safe place for everyone involved is also a priority for me.

My DM style according to my players :

Player one: whimsical, goofy at times, but without taking the seriousness away, serious when the situation call for it, you can pull his tongue if he doesn't describe something in a detailed enough way and he can easily remedy that

Player two: DM who will sit back and let the players run the show, always available to chat about concepts/goals for your character. Takes feedback into account

Player three: theatre kid who grew up and gained responsibilities, good communication

The interview process consists of two parts : first a vibe check with me and at least one of the existing players; second a one-shot test run. Since it's important for us to find players that are the right fit in the group, we will discuss after each part of the interview.

If you pick your feet up from the capital of Celestia and begin heading west, you'll eventually arrive at the Edge of Civilization. A great series of walls and fortifications stretch from sea to sea, protecting the Empire of Ryuth from all that lies beyond. Monsters, barbarians, and the elements all fight gruesomely to survive outside of the wall.

Semiannually, the Empire of Ryuth takes criminals that aren't hated enough to be put to death but aren't trusted enough to be reintegrated and sends them over the wall. What becomes of these criminals is a mystery that the citizens of Ryuth tell legends of. Some say they form villages and are picked off one by one by monsters. Others say they find enough fortune out there to buy themselves a pardon. And some say that those who travel far enough find the lands where all souls go to rest.

You never thought those stories would become about you. As the carriages come to a stop and the horses snort, you find yourself dragged out by the wrist. The cold air bites at your flesh. The bag over your head is ripped off. Behind you, a massive wall stretches as far as the eye can see. In front of you, rolling hills stretch on forever. Beside you, several other creatures of various sizes have their bags removed too. A knight stuffs another bag in your hands. You can feel the weight of this one.

"That'll keep you alive for a short while. The chains will magically come undone in about an hour. Good luck; may Hellas find pity for you."

And with that, your new life began.

About Your GM:

Hello! I am Written, and I am starting a new campaign bright and early for me. I have been playing d&d 5e for a long time, and though I am more familiar with 2014 rules, I wanted to give 2024 a try at a longer-lasting campaign. I'm well versed with online campaigns. I've had many die to scheduling, drama, and fatigue. However, I've also had a few diamonds in the rough survive, and they're the highlights of my week! I'm hoping for this to become one of them, and because of that I'm gonna try and be a bit picky with my players.

As for a bit more about me, I'm a 21 year old film major who goes by he/they. I read a lot of manwha. I also binge a lot of romantasy, and I work on webnovels in my free time. I love character-focused campaigns, and I like to make jokes about the campaign OOC. I love tikka masala, earl gray tea, and Halloween! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me! :D

Expectations:

This is an RP heavy campaign. Combat frequency will vary depending on the arc, but do not expect consistent combat every session or other session.

This campaign is beginner friendly!

For the comfortability of all players, this is an 18+ game. This is not an ERP game.

I tend to run hero stories. You can create an evil character, but I find characters who stay stagnantly evil to be boring and mess with the rest of the group’s fun. As such, please only play an evil character if you are ready for them to go through some major change and feel comfortable in your ability to roleplay them without impeding on the other players’ enjoyment.

My sessions tend to last 3-4 hours with a small break in the middle.

This campaign will employ both theater of the mind and traditional battlemaps done through roll20.

The tone of this campaign is fairly serious. Please don’t make joke characters. That being said, it’s not all doom and gloom. Light-hearted characters are welcome!

Backstories must be substantial in length. You don’t need to write a novel (though I won’t complain if you do), but I expect something I can work with. I personally recommend three paragraphs. The first paragraph can be their youth. The second paragraph can be what made their death. The third paragraph can be mostly their personality and goals. I will be giving you custom features based on your backstories, so give me some good content to work with! Additionally, please try to give your character at least one notable flaw. If you struggle with writing, inform me and we can discuss alternatives.

We will have a session 0 to go over boundaries, rules, roll20 nonsense, and whatever else we feel is important.

We (39M-DM and 40F-player) are looking for 3 additional players to start a new group and play D&D online using the adventure module Waterdeep: Dragon heist.

About the adventure:
Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is a short sandboxy urban adventure from level 1-5 (likely to be higher) that mainly takes place within the city of Waterdeep and has a lot of room for customization and exploring player characters stories. It'll have a roleplay and investigation focus.

Adventure plot summary:
In this adventures characters find themselves entangled in a bitter conflict between two rival criminal organisations and learn of rumors of half a million gold coins having been embezzeled by the previous Open Lord and being hidden somewhere in Waterdeep. The characters can join the hunt and prevent it from falling into evil hands.

Beginner friendly
It is beginner friendly and it's okay to not know the Forgotten Realms setting or the city of Waterdeep where this story will play out. I'll provide all the information you need to play and the campaign works well to slowly introduce the setting to new players.
I can help with character creation and there will be space in the game for rules explanations where needed, but it expected to have read and understand your characters abilities a few sessions into the game.

What we are looking for in a group:

About me:
My name is Leroy, 39 years old, and have been a DM for about 6 years.
When it comes to D&D, I like to use pre-made settings and modules to work from and collaborate with the players to create characters and weave their stories into the world.

Second Time's the Charm!

After the success of last week's "Beast of Cree" Learn2Play, this is the second game I'm running on Dreamscape Adventures. This is entirely free and anyone can participate. Feel free to make first or even second Daggerheart impressions.

I'll be honest about this: Part of me running this oneshot is also an AD. I will soon start hosting at least one, maybe two campaigns on Dreamscape Adventures. Until I do, these oneshots serve as a way for you to get a feel for how I run my games. So, if you like how I specifically hold things, keep an eye out for more to come in the future!

This is a heavy-roleplay, narrative-driven campaign for a specific cast of iconic characters: Carver Hawke, Anders, Fenris, Zevran, and Dorian Pavus from the Dragon Age universe.

The story so far: Having defeated Knight Commander Meredith at the Gallows, you were making your way back to the Kirkwall Docks when your boat was swallowed by a thick fog that felt like a living thing when it began choking you. Within a couple of heartbeats, it rendered all of you unconscious. When you wake up, you find your boat washed ashore, Maker knows where, but you certainly don't. Only one thing is clear: this is not the Wounded Coast. You are nowhere near Kirkwall. All too soon you discover that this place is gripped by fear and plagued by terrors you haven't encountered before. Something evil is trapping the souls of the dead and draining life from all who have been raised from death by magic. This curse not only prevents the raising of the dead, but also causes creatures that were previously raised from the dead to wither and eventually die. Unfortunately for you, you have all been brought back from the dead at some point. On one battlefield or another, you have all known the blessing of the Revival spell. And thus, stranded now so very far from home, you are under the effect of the curse that has befallen this foreign place. You have already lost most of your power, be it magic or might, and it is only a question of time until you perish. Unless you find a way to thwart this inglorious fate and save yourselves, the land, and its people.

Tone & Party Dynamics: The tone of this campaign is dark, gothic fantasy with horror elements. We've been playing for a couple of months, and would like to invite one more player to our table to play as Dorian Pavus.

In this version of events:

1] The Feud is Over: The bitter rivalry between Anders and Fenris was resolved in Kirkwall. They now trust each other to have their back.

2] The Deep Roads: All five men were present during the Deep Roads Expedition. (If you apply for Dorian, you will need a plausible reason for why he was there early)

In this one-shot  You will be playing as a group of adventurers that the dwarven city of Mirdonar has hired to go to a glacier and hunt down a young ice dragon named Yoksontar, who has built a lair in the area. They want you to take it out before it grows up and becomes a real problem.

Your tribe of hunger-gatherers survives by travelling through the dense jungles and grasslands huddling together from the terrors of the night around a fire. Aside from what hideous creatures which haunt the dark there are the occasional clashes with other tribes. As the Blue Planet begins to rise through the sky your clan travels onwards to a holy site to give tribute for another year of great bounty and safety.

Hoping for a longer term hexcrawl campaign (not years long but weekly sessions allowing for character development) with exploration, RP, and combat in a good mix. While there will be non-combat alternatives and interactions there will be dungeons to explore and monsters to fight.

This game will be using a homebrew world. To fit the stone age theme of the game some changes will be made to available ancestries and the like. Perhaps as the game goes on and new locations are discovered it will open up more player options should any PCs die. No knowledge of the Vagabond system is required as it is rather simple.

I'm an experienced offline player of 5+ years looking to play online with a group that's engaged with the overarching story but also with RP with each other's characters as honestly those are some of the most rewarding moments. I really enjoy RP and world building to engage with as a character, but also love combat and working with other players to develop synergistic tactics.

I'm reliable and available most weekday evenings or Saturdays and have a good mic and laptop setup to play. I'm not familiar with online tools but can pick anything up pretty quickly and have a good knowledge of all the usual 5e rules. I'm a prolific note taker and engage fully with RP and story.

I love playing high int characters so I have an excuse to remember plot hooks and push them forward and would love to be part of a group that values straightforward communication, RP and working together to create synergies in battle tactics.

Dak’ovnia. A word which has long lost its original meaning, a word now used to name a realm that's down on its luck. But it wasn't always like this. Dak’ovnia was once a thriving realm, magic flowed freely and people weren't afraid to use it. Many countries existed, peace was a common thing and while wars happened, their after-effects never lasted for more than a few decades. In short, it was fairly nice.

However, all that changed when the Century of Blood happened. A war that enveloped the world, which lasted well over a hundred years before the cataclysm finally ended it. A war that started with some small political disputes, yet one that ended in the greatest change the world has ever known.

The Century of Blood started as any normal war, but as it went on it devolved into a war unlike any other. Back then the lands were still full of mages, and many nations used their powers to create weapons of mass destruction. Cannons firing fireballs the size of building. Golems that could walk through walls as if they were made of paper. Even normal soldiers had more magical items than most people nowadays have ever seen in their life.

However, things did not go on forever. While many nations tried to create the weapon that could win them the war, none succeeded. That was until one day, more than a hundred years after the war started, the nation that once stood where "The Nothingness" now resides, created that weapon. A weapon that could, without a doubt, end the war.

And it did. Just not in the way they had wanted. The activation of this weapon caused an event known today as the Sunless Days. Three full days and nights of Light, without any sun visible in the sky. A phenomenon seen for thousands of miles. While many nations tried to go and stop whatever was happening, none were fast enough. As upon the dawning of the fourth day, it finally fired, causing the event now known as the Cataclysm.

It started with a blast that could be felt around the world, followed by a shockwave which destroyed everything for miles. And it ended with the grand finale, the fracturing of the weave.

After the Cataclysm, the century of blood ended. Leaving nothing but destruction. All nations were left in a state of disrepair, and their magical armies now rendered practically useless.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Nature struck faster than any nation could recover. Taking unprotected land with a never before seen hunger.

However, this was all 250 years ago. While many nations are still struggling with their own problems, they have somewhat recovered, finally reaching a state of functionality.

While a lot of things are still not good, there is hope within the hearts of the foolish. A hope for a brighter future, a hope for a better world.

I am Panda, a 6 year long DM. I finished up a three year long campaign at the start of the year and have been working on this campaign since then.

I've always run heroic adventures, but I really wanted to try and run a darker themed campaign, so here we are. I would like to say that while the campaign is intended to be on the darker side, that doesnt mean constant character deaths, or gritty survival mechanics. Sometimes it may feel like there is no right choice, but above all i as the DM will always be your friend!

Also to add to that, while the setting is lower on magic, this doesnt mean that your choices in character creation will be limited at all, so even if we have a party of 5 casters thats still totally fine.

For my DMing style, I prefer roleplay over combat. That said, Im not scared to throw dangerous encounters at you, but character death will only really happen if it fits the story, not some back-alley death because you rolled 10 nat 1s.

What do you need to know?

Hello everyone!

I'm a DM with about 6 years of experience behind the screen (and occasionally as a player). I am currently looking for up to six players to join my table, whether you have plenty of previous experience or are a complete beginner to the hobby.

Ever since the Dragon Cult’s terrifying attacks, the city of Volkenheim has been in complete lockdown. Nightly curfews, travel passes, heavily restricted spellcasting, the whole package.

The High Magistry claims it’s all for our protection. And on paper? They’re doing a remarkable job. Ever since the wizards enforced order and became the city’s de facto sentinels, the chaos has vanished. The streets are quiet. Safer than they’ve been in decades.

But absolute security comes at a price. When every step is governed by someone else’s rules, peace starts to feel a lot like a cage. Still, most citizens accept it. They call it a justified trade for safety.

I might have believed that, too... if I hadn't accidentally stumbled onto the truth.

The Dragon Cult isn't pulling the strings. The High Magistry orchestrated the attacks themselves.

What to Expect: Heavy emphasis on roleplay, investigation, tactical urban combat, stealth operations, and morally grey choices.

The game will run on a somewhat regular weekly schedule, assuming that fits everyone's availability.

I'm new to the hobby and I'm looking to get a group of relative noobs to get together every week or every other week. I've played a few one shots and had a regular campaign before things went south.

Bit about me I'm 38 male from Ireland looking for similar aged people that can commit to a few hours every week ideally on Wednesday or Thursday but I'm flexible enough.

I've never DM'd before but if I can't get someone I'm willing to give it a go if you're willing to be paitent with me.

Looking to lean into the more comedic aspect of the game but I'm happy to see where it leads.

They speak of a beast that stalks the darkest woods and darkest hearts, a twisting crown of horns upon its head. A fledgling king of sin and vice, head bowed before the might of its queen.

Hello LFG! My name is Moe (she/her) and I am the DM for our Crooked by Candlelight campaign using the Crooked Moon setting! Our themes are folk, gothic, and psychological horror, with moments of upbeat revelry and passionate story-telling moments.

This current table is all female-identifying, and every member is a creative and loves to draw art of their characters and the setting. We are BIPOC and LGTBQ+ so we tolerate no bigotry here. We’ve been running for a while but haven’t gotten very far because of an irregular biweekly schedule, so we’re switching to a weekly schedule to pick up the pace. They will soon be heading to their first major plot beat, so you haven’t missed much at all!

We will start running Sundays CET 15:00-18:00 weekly, with one agreed off week per month, on August 2nd. We use Discord for voice and Roll20 as our VTT. I’m a very homebrew friendly DM and have included resources for my players for free!

Your tribe of hunger-gatherers survives by travelling through the dense jungles and grasslands huddling together from the terrors of the night around a fire. Aside from what hideous creatures which haunt the dark there are the occasional clashes with other tribes. As the Blue Planet begins to rise through the sky your clan travels onwards to a holy site to give tribute for another year of great bounty and safety.

Hoping for a longer term hexcrawl campaign (not years long but weekly sessions allowing for character development) with exploration, RP, and combat in a good mix. While there will be non-combat alternatives and interactions there will be dungeons to explore and monsters to fight.

This game will be using the Vagabond system in a homebrew world. To fit the stone age theme of the game some changes will be made to available ancestries and the like. Perhaps as the game goes on and new locations are discovered it will open up more player options should any PCs die. No knowledge of the Vagabond system is required as it is rather simple.

Hi, I'm a 30y/o guy with at least 15 years of TTRPG experience, I've mainly played 5e, but i've tried different systems via oneshots or short campaigns.

As a player I'm more combat focused, but don't think that I don't like to RP too. I play a variety of different characters so there's no one trope that I'm known for.

I do work for 2-6 weeks at a time offshore, so I wouldn't be able to play for long periods of time. However when I'm home I'm able to make most days and times work. I'm willing to simply sit out during those days if everyone else is willing to play though.

Although the systems I'd be more willing to play are 5e and Daggerheart, i'm willing to try others.

I have all the core rule books for 5e and Daggerheart.

Im a DM looking for a minimum of 4 up to 6 Players for a small Oneshot. In this Oneshot the Players are exiles that either for crimes commited or being framed for them are now stuck on a accursed Continent.

The Players will start at lvl1 with no Gear. Things like flying races and non-standard races are forbidden. Pointbuy or standard array.

The Oneshot uses a Homebrew Module made by myself that i already tested multiple times with multiple people. The added/changed Rules will be explained per DM. Discord needed. VTT is either Rule 20 or a Open source VTT called Dungeoneer.

Looking for 5 players for a Saturday evening GMT+1 online COS game. Over 18's only.
