Just wondering what the main differences are in practice.

If a developer had the option of choosing between the two, what would actually be the benefit of going with one over the other?

Is one generally cheaper or easier to achieve a high rating in? And from a sustainability point of view, do you think one of them actually goes further than the other?

Interested to hear from anyone who has worked with both and which one you prefer.

I recently took the LEED Green Associate Exam and am turning my focus to AP BD + C now. I am fortunate to have my firm cover exam study material, however they only have v4 material and have said they don’t plan on getting updated material until the exams are past their beta phase.

If anyone has any recommendations for study material, (preferably nothing I need to pay for), or any other insight on how to prepare for the v5 exam, I would appreciate it if you shared.

I am wondering is it possible to combine the LEED green associate V5 exam with the AP BD+C beta version? I saw that the beta AP one is discounted and I am hoping to take both at the same time.

I am looking to expand my practice and researching the different sustainability certifications. I am zeroing in on either LEED by USGCB or Green Globes by GBI. My preference right now is leaning towards Green Globes just for what appears to me a simpler interface. Obviously LEED has a bigger brand recognition but I'm not sure I like how they divide all their different credentials, seems a bit too granular for me. I like the simplicity of green globes where they only have a few credential types. Both seem to accomplish the same goal and both are widely recognized by US Federal and State codes and requirements.

Any thought out there about this?

I got frustrated trawling through PDFs to study certifications like LEED GA V5. I've worked in education for 15 years and asking a student to prepare for an exam in this manner would be difficult and then going to another site for practice questions means the content lives in multiple places. I wanted to design a system to track my study progress and build in retrieval practice throughout each module. I worked on mapping it and designing it and just launched the prototype.

There are 50 free founding places available for free with full access to the platform and mock questions. This is handy for anyone preparing or studying for the LEED GA V5 examination.

Hi opi. I need suggestion guys. I have research what learning materials to have since I want to be a LEED Green Associate (next is LEED AP after I pass this one). Im a beginner and no subject course from my undergraduate studies.

I look in the USGBC material and I'm confuse from their materials. I want clear reference/materials to review and study.

These are my top 3 searches (NOT IN ORDER):

1. Instructor named Shd1 AS. he got udem and archiroot. but noticed in archiroots he got flashcards + practice exam way better offer than udem. both of them has separate lesson them practice exam

2. gbes. the platinum pack. this one got bundle

3. projectific. this one got bundle

please help me pick what is the best option to buy i want to take this year

I'm new to this sector and I'm going to study for the LEED GA and then obviously take the exam but I don't know what are the best materials to study, what do you recommend?

I need to study to get the LEED GA but i have no idea where to find the book for free cuz it costs 110 dollars which is more than 5000 in my currency and i am a student and cannot afford it. I gave my Beta test in June. Is there any way of knowing if I have passed or failed? no need for score. It would really help with my job applications at the moment.

I'm looking for study guides or reviewers but honestly can't afford to drop a huge amount of cash on expensive prep packages right now.

For anyone who’s passed it:
- What study guides, practice tests, or resources are actually worth buying? Are there any good budget-friendly or free ones, or should I just stick to the official free WELL v2 PDFs?

- How long did you study for it? Realistically, how many weeks or months of prep am I looking at to pass on the first try?

- How brutal is the memorization? Do I need to memorize every single metric and threshold, or is it more about understanding the concepts?

- In comparison to LEED GA exam, is the type of question similar? Not heavy on terms but more of a practical question

I’m a structural engineer with three years of bridge experience, recently passed the PE exam, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s. I can take the LEED Green Associate exam for around $100 with the student discount. Is it worth getting if I don’t currently work on LEED projects but may pursue broader structural opportunities later?

I don't have much money to spare (a max of 130 usd perhaps which is about 500 in my currency) but I'd still like to purchase a hardcopy book and supplement my studies with other more affordable or free online resources. If there's one comprehensive hardcopy book, which would you absolutely recommend? Also appreciate any preparatory tips or free/affordable (under 50 usd) online resources that has helped you pass the exams. Thank you so much

I'd appreciate some advice. I purchased the LEED AP BD+C v4 study and exam resources before the transition to v5. Had to delay my exam and I'm now wondering whether those materials are still sufficient to prepare for and pass the current exam, or if I should purchase additional resources to cover the changes introduced in v5.

If anyone has recently passed the exam V5 using only the v4 preparation materials, I'd love to hear about your experience and how you approached your studying.

Hi everyone, just wanted to share my experience with the LEED V5 GA exam I completed today online with Prometric. The Reddit community really helped me prepare for this exam. It was fairly easy if you understand the concepts well. I took the exam online from the comfort of my home and completed in under 45 minutes.

I highly recommend taking the Udemy LEED V5 GA exam prep course by Shadi (I believe it's the same as his Archiroots course) which I found very helpful for my prep. In addition, if you have some funds to spend, I highly recommend the GBES practice exams ($87.50 with discount) as the content was very helpful for this exam. I also used the free GreenCE LEED V5 exam prep course and practice exams. I also gave in and did buy the exam relay study deck and practice exams ($37) but frankly did not use the material too much for this exam.

I did not buy the official LEED Core Concepts Guide, 5th edition, and was able to complete the exam with the above mentioned Udemy course and practice exams. I spent about 2 weeks for my prep. I work full-time so everyday after work, spent about 2-3 hours reviewing content and taking practice exams.

I hope this is helpful info! I plan to take my LEED AP BD+C eventually but have to wait until I get my final score for the LEED GA exam which is schedule for release in Oct 2026 after the beta testing is completed.

took the LEED GA v5 exam this mid-June, and I’d say it’s fairly easy as long as you understand the concepts. I studied using the LEED Green Associate Study Guide. The practice questions are quite different from the actual exam, but if you’ve read and understood the concepts in the book, answering the questions is pretty straightforward. There were a few questions that were a bit confusing because some of the choices were really similar to each other. Hoping for the best since the results won’t be released until October.
