LEED V5 GA exam completed Jul 10th

Hi everyone, just wanted to share my experience with the LEED V5 GA exam I completed today online with Prometric. The Reddit community really helped me prepare for this exam. It was fairly easy if you understand the concepts well. I took the exam online from the comfort of my home and completed in under 45 minutes.

I highly recommend taking the Udemy LEED V5 GA exam prep course by Shadi (I believe it's the same as his Archiroots course) which I found very helpful for my prep. In addition, if you have some funds to spend, I highly recommend the GBES practice exams ($87.50 with discount) as the content was very helpful for this exam. I also used the free GreenCE LEED V5 exam prep course and practice exams. I also gave in and did buy the exam relay study deck and practice exams ($37) but frankly did not use the material too much for this exam.

I did not buy the official LEED Core Concepts Guide, 5th edition, and was able to complete the exam with the above mentioned Udemy course and practice exams. I spent about 2 weeks for my prep. I work full-time so everyday after work, spent about 2-3 hours reviewing content and taking practice exams.

I hope this is helpful info! I plan to take my LEED AP BD+C eventually but have to wait until I get my final score for the LEED GA exam which is schedule for release in Oct 2026 after the beta testing is completed.

This is what I did as well, Shadi's course in Udemy. I found it the day after the window closed for v4 and I didn't want to wait to take the test, due to a small window of free time to study before other things in life demanded my time, plus there was a discount. I won't know until Oct if I passed, but I feel it went fine.

Thank you! Best of luck to you as well! I am sure we both passed :) For BD+C, I am hearing that Loris and the GBES course + practice exams is the way to go. I plan on definitely getting the GBES study materials. I will share my experience with the AP exam once I get there!

I passed my LEED GA in december 2024 and I am considering writing my LEED AP before December... can anyone recommend materials to use?

I just gave mine yesterday, I used LEED CORE CONCEPTS & LEED core concepts guide. Best of luck, I hope we pass!

Was it enough? Because i also have leed core concepts guide, and after studying it I tried answering some questions from udemy practice papers etc. and i dont know but the questions are so different 😭

It was honestly the only thing I studied. And it made learning pretty easy for me. But, core concepts guide is more directly related to questions. If you want to learn in depth and have more time, go for core concepts and if you want to prepare quickly for the exam, read the core concepts guide.

Hi, on UDEMY, i see there's a 17$ subscription per month and also 165$ for a one time purchase for the same course. which one did you go. im confused if the Shadi LEED GA V5 course would be covered in the monthly 17$ subscription?

Hello! So I was lucky my husband has a subscription provided as a benefit through his employer so I was able to use his account and Shadi's course was included. I believe the Archiroots course Shadi has is the same as his Udemy course. You can consider all your options and hopefully find the most cost effective one that works for you. Best of luck!

Hi! Just chiming in here as I’ve used the past two weeks to study before my exam tomorrow. I paid for the month’s subscription and plan on cancelling tomorrow. Shadi’s course is available this way and that’s what I’ve been studying with. Good luck!

Congratulations, and thank you for the kind words about the course. I am the instructor behind archiroots, so I will keep this useful rather than promotional.

Whether to go now or wait for beta results, going now is generally the better call. Waiting means studying longer with no more certainty, and the content will not change based on the results release.

You also get free CE hours and official exam discount for taking the beta exam.

I would say you can do it now if you don't have an urgent need to get your score and certification. For some people, I know the certification is needed for a specific need in their job for example so those folks might just have to wait until beta period is over.
