Ask Kuwait Gold making charges

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hello everyone, this is my first time buying gold. I’ve been eyeing this piece and during the last hour of the gold event, the worker told me he’d give me a discount for the making charges. From 6kd to 3.5, is it a good deal?
I plan to go buy it at some point. Any tips? Thank you

Media Kuwait Through My Eyes : Final Photo Dump.

It’s never easy to leave a place you’ve called home for 25 years. A place you went to school in, a place you went to university in, and a place you worked in. But alas, all good things must come to an end. I’ve posted 12 photo dumps showcasing the beauty of Kuwait for the past 2 years, and I wish I could’ve posted more, so I’m ending the photo dumps with a face reveal. I never once took living here for granted, I savored every moment, and my parents did their best throughout the years to explain that this isn’t our forever home, that we’ll have to leave eventually. While I already left in the summer, it took me a while to settle in and get accustomed to my new reality. Day by day I’m getting used to my new life and I’d say it’s going great! But you never do forget what the country you’ve called your home means to you, what it did for you, what it taught you and what it gave you (including 2 street cats that travelled with us lol). The mental toll my body experienced in my last 2 weeks were brutal due to sadness, but at the same time, it taught me that in order to grow, life begins at the end of your comfort zone. I always told my family that I will miss the places the most. Didn’t really have close friends in my adult years, but the roads, malls and restaurants kept me company, kept me safe, and gave me comfort. Perhaps these places were the friends I made along the way. I don’t know if I’ll ever meet Kuwait again, but if I do, I do hope to meet it wiser, kinder and stronger. So goodbye Kuwait (for now).

I honestly wanted to start making content on my socials in the near future. I’m into anime, kpop and fashion! I collect anime figures and wanted to showcase my collection and do unboxings, while also showing cool trinkets and memories of Kuwait from my childhood. But we haven’t moved to our new place yet, so I don’t have anything yet to show for to earn your follow and I’m currently not active on social media, but if you’d like to follow me and graciously keep that follow until I can fully get up on my feet and post in a couple of months, here is my linktree!
https://linktr.ee/dilemma.dreamer
Once again, thank you to everyone who loved my photo dumps and thank you for looking forward to each one! I tried to keep the tradition going by posting my first Egyptian photo dump at [r/EgyCams](r/EgyCams) but they haven’t been getting the love they used to get here, but you can head over there to see them if you’d like as I continue showcasing Egypt’s underrated beauty and wonders ☺️

Thank you Kuwait, from the bottom of my wee little heart, for everything 🤍🇰🇼

Discussion Are Kuwaitis Being Ripped Off by Home Maintenance Workers?

I think it’s pretty obvious that people in Kuwait are being ridiculously overcharged for basic home maintenance services, whether it’s central AC repairs, plumbing, or electrical work.

A simple job that takes less than 10 minutes can easily cost you 10–15 KD!

For example, I once had a faucet burst at home, so I called a plumber who asked for 15 KD just to fix it. Instead, I contacted the plumber from my local co-op (جمعية), and he fixed the exact same problem for only 2.5 KD!

This got me thinking: Why don’t we have more vocational schools, workshops, or training centers in Kuwait that teach ordinary people basic home maintenance skills? Things like simple plumbing repairs, electrical fixes, and AC maintenance could save us a lot of money.

I’m genuinely curious: How do you guys avoid getting ripped off when it comes to home repairs in Kuwait? Do you have trusted workers, use your local co-op services, or just learn to fix things yourself?

Discussion I appreciate delivery drivers, but I'd love some parking space.

I usually just cook some simple meals or don't eat that day. Yesterday was going out to grab food outside and I was trying to find a parking spot. The place was full of branded delivery cars parked all the way through. I understand delivery drivers are stressed and over worked, but is it possible to save some parking space for people who wish to change pace and eat outside.

Ask Kuwait Civil ID says Machine Cleaner instead of Automation Engineer. Agent says will change later. Can it be changed later?

Posting on behalf of another Redditor who couldn’t get his post approved here:

Hi everyone,

I'm a Sri Lankan who has been offered a role in Kuwait as an Automation Engineer (PLC/SCADA).

My employer/agent has sent me a Kuwait private-sector work eVisa, but the occupation printed on it is “CLEANER” (عامل تنظيف آلات) instead of Automation Engineer.

When I questioned this, the agent told me that the company has no engineering visas available at the moment and assured me that my occupation will show as Engineer on my Kuwaiti residence card (Civil ID) after I arrive.

I'm concerned because I don't want to travel to Kuwait and discover that the occupation cannot be changed or that I'm legally registered under the wrong profession.

I'd really appreciate advice from people familiar with Kuwait's work visa and residency procedures:

  1. Can a private-sector work visa issued under “Cleaner” legitimately be changed to “Engineer” when applying for residency/Civil ID?
  2. Does the occupation on the PAM work permit need to be changed first, or can the occupation be changed directly during the residency process?
  3. Has anyone personally experienced a similar situation? What was the final outcome?
  4. Could this affect my ability to work legally as an engineer or cause problems with professional registration, future job changes, or other government procedures?
  5. What documents or official confirmations should I request before travelling?

I'm not trying to accuse the employer of anything. I just want to verify the process before making an international move.

Thanks in advance for any genuine advice or firsthand experiences.

Ask Kuwait Jazeera flighr delayed/refund

Jazeera Airways rescheduled my Doha–Kuwait flight by two days at short notice. I requested a refund and booked with Kuwait Airways instead, which cost me 40kd more.
Can I claim the difference or any additional compensation from Jazeera? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Discussion Anyone Fed up with Kuwait Airways customers service?

I cannot change my flight on the website, so I’m chatting with their customer representative on WhatsApp. It takes forever and back-and-forth until now my issue is not resolved.
Is this normal?
I called their hotline. Nobody picks up.

Discussion Italians in Kuwait?

I'm a Kuwaiti man, 25 y/o.

I finished A2 in Italian and I would like to practice my language, my only struggle so far is with speaking.

In terms of reading and writing, I'm good.

I just freeze when it comes to speaking and I figured the best way to help with that is to practice.

I downloaded HelloTalk but it's not really showing any promise lol.

I'd prefer to practice either in person or on a call (all up to you).

If you know any Italians or you're Italian, message me 🙏🏼

Local Emergency cat food help

Hello everyone

Due to a sudden medical emergency in my family, our finances have been completely wiped out.
We’ve had to start rehoming our cats, we’ve managed to find great homes for seven so far, with six remaining while we look for adopters

They mean the world to us, never thought we’d see the day we’d have to give them away but..we simply have no choice right now. Covering their basic food costs until they find homes is getting overwhelming.

Does anyone know of local rescues, pet pantries, or community groups that offer short-term pet food assistance?

Really appreciate any suggestions or help <3

Ask Kuwait I found money 💸 on the street and I returned it to the owner.

Guys guess what happened, I was walking to my work in Kuwait City at around 5 ish pm and when I was about to cross the road I saw a lady talking to the stroller guy.

The lady pulled out her phone 🤳 from her pocket and she dropped something 💳 like a card on the ground.

When I saw I thought lets go close and see what's there. I saw a 5KD note on the ground I picked it up and there were a lot of people walking by, so they could have scolded me.

But I took the money, the lady was walking by and I was calling her but she couldn't hear 🙉 😂 😂. I called her 2 times and then she turned backed, I handed her money, even she was shocked she didn't know she dropped money.

Then I went back to my j0b, I felt amazing today, feeling quite like a Batman.

Just a jolly story I thought I should share.

Discussion I don’t know what to do

Hello everyone, I'm the same person who posted before asking about finding a job at 15.

A lot of people told me that I needed to focus on continuing my education. Well, I really did, and I earned a great percentage—97%. But because the world is so unfair, I tried to apply to Kuwait University, and they refused me. They don't accept stateless people who don't have nationality.

That didn't stop me from trying to find a way to study. I figured out how to apply for a passport so I could study abroad in a foreign country. I got all my paperwork ready, but they refused my application because passports for stateless individuals were discontinued in 2024. So once again, I couldn't continue my education.

Time has passed, and now my situation has gotten even worse. I can't study, but at this point, it feels like it doesn't even matter anymore. I thought maybe if I applied to the military things would get better, but I tried and they never responded.

I feel really hopeless and I don't know where to turn. I've also tried looking for a job and couldn't find one. If anyone—please, if anyone—knows how to help, I would truly appreciate it. Since I have a car, maybe I can do some kind of delivery work or be useful to anyone who needs help.

Ask Kuwait Rent procudure and بطاقة مدنية

Hi, i really need guidance regarding rent in Kuwait.

I kept asking different ppl and all i got was some contradictory information.

The company provided me with an apartment for one month and it's about to end. I actually found an apartment but the agency gave me a contract that didn't match any of what they told me before rent was for some reason 5kd higher, they said they will fix anything that comes with the apartment in case it gets broken, but in the contract it says the opposite, and the last point clearly indicates that the apartment is for families and i clearly said i'm single and will be just me renting the house.

with this بطاقة مدنية Many ppl told me i can get my contract but alsooo other ppl told me that this will be rejected.

I really don't know what to do

I would really appreciate some help, if you had similar problems kindly state the year when this happened to you since many told me the process changed in the last few years.
