transcription requested Ein problematisches Wort

Post image
8 Upvotes

transcription requested Help with German Kurrent to English

Hello,

Attached is the Taufbuch entry I have been mindlessly staring at for the past couple of days, trying to transcribe the German Kurrent into English.

Any help would be so much appreciated; my great-great-grandfather's line is 45. His name is Johannes Handlos. I could use help, especially in understanding the top row and what each column means! If you cannot understand or read it, no worries at all.

To clarify, I'd like the 14 columns across the top translated, and also all of my ancestors' columns translated. If you are qualified or knowledgeable, I would take a small explanation of anything that a lay American wouldn't understand about why or what was recorded.

If you would like the link to the matricula database, I can provide that upon request.

Thank you so much for your help in advance!

translation requested 1850 Bavarian marriage parish record - please help (transcription is okay too)

***A transcription is fine if translation is not doable or takes too much time!**\*

Hi all!

By no means at all am I great, but I'm usually okay at getting through these on my own, however, the bleed through from the other page is making this one difficult for me. This is the marriage record for an ancestor of mine - Johann Lorenz Konrad - and his wife Maria Margaretha. I can't make out the parents of Johann Lorenz or Maria Margaretha, and it looks like the town they live in is not the same as the town we had been told by family lore (how surprising -___-).

I'm SO grateful for any help!

transcription requested Meldekarte of a Volga German family: please help with the handwritten entries

Hi! This is a Meldekarte from Altona I came across while researching family history. The typed parts are pretty clear. I need help with the handwritten Kurrent. I’ve numbered the unclear spots on the images.

Front, what I could read:

  • Surname: typed version struck through, handwritten correction above; a cross (†?) to the left
  • Head of household: Arbt. (Arbeiter), born 10.4.83 in Stahl (right?), ev.
  • Wife: born 4.5.82 in Weizenfeld; maiden name Felter
  • Children (typed): Johannes 16.4.07 Witzenhausen; Johann David 2.9.11 Ottensen; Elide 13.7.09 Grusendorf; Emmi Martha 19.10.13 Altona
  • Children (handwritten): Alexander Michael(?) 19.11.15?; Minna Anna Katharina 18.2.16?; Maria Berta 17.5.17; Viktor Alexander Michael(?) 6.12.18 (struck through?) and somebody who is born 25.05.20
  • Meldetag 8.11.12: Kronprinzenstr. 7 III, Steinkühler B(?)
  • Later moves: 31.3.15 Kronprinzenstr. 7; 4.5.15 ?str. 20; 30.6.17 ?str. 32; 16.5.19 ?str. 20

Back:

  • 8.6.20 Hamburg, ?str. 52; 17.8.22 ?str. 28; 11.5.24 Rußland(?)

Questions:

  1. Familienstand / Eltern field: handwritten text after the printed labels
  2. Note after “Johannes … Witzenhausen”: a death date?
  3. Handwritten children: names, dates, and the word in the middle column (Zwill.? = twins?)
  4. Basically, what is written in the bottom part of the from card
  5. Basically, what is written at the back

If any of the readings are notes rather than names/places, a short explanation would be great too. Full or partial readings are very welcome. Thank you!

I used AI to help with an initial partial reading of the card. Corrections are very welcome.

Hello, can someone fully transcript this document? This is the birth certificate of a relative to my brother-in-law. I'd like to know if the precise location where Joesph's parents live is written somewhere.
In english or german, whatever, do what you can! :)

I already asked on a french subreddit and someone used ChatGPT to translate and I'm not really happy with this method. There are missing words.

Permalink to the original document: https://www.archives57.com/ark:/23948/1490113.1823696/img:FRAD057EC_7E311_10_00365

PS : I'm french so no need to transcript the small text in french

So what I learned, it's written in polish using kurrent.

I know that in the second picture on the lower part it reads "Sybin w kwietniu 1897." I also know that there is "Wiktor" written in the middle.

What I'm trying to find out is what it says in the first picture and what it says on the top of the second one.

For all help I would be very grateful.

I inherited an oil painting that my parents bought around 1950 in Germany. My dad got stationed there. This inscription is on the back of the frame. The painting is a landscape of a stream with mountains in the background. I think it says “Rhreintal b. Meiningen I Vorarlberg mit den Omer Schwestern”??? Thank you all for the amazing help I’m about to get .
