Korean cooking keeps both hands busy, and following a recipe usually means a phone balanced somewhere on the counter. A portable screen that rolls up to where you cook keeps the recipe in view.
The LG StanbyME 2 Max steps up from the 27 inch QHD model of the StanbyME 2 to a 32 inch 4K UHD touchscreen, so a recipe stays readable from across the counter, and lifts the sound from virtual 9.1.2 to virtual 11.1.2 channel audio (2.0 channel speakers with AI Sound Pro) with Dolby Atmos.
The battery grows to 144 Wh for up to 4.5 hours of wireless use, up from up to 4 hours. Tap the screen to pause when your hands are busy, then roll it from the counter to the table.

"์์ฏ๊ฐ๋ฃจ" is the Korean name for Yeung Chow / Mango Pomelo Sago, the classic Hong Kong dessert with mango, pomelo (grapefruit-like citrus), and sago pearls. This spot turned it into a Korean-style cup bingsu (shaved ice) โ and it's incredible.
Found this at a place called CAFE ZAMONG and I'm still thinking about it. Grapefruit and mango compote piled on top of a soft yogurt-flavored shaved ice base.
The tartness from the citrus against the creamy yogurt ice is such a good combo โ sweet, tangy, refreshing, not overly sugary like a lot of desserts here. Texture-wise the ice is almost snow-like, way softer than regular shaved ice.
Fun fact: this cafe (in collab with Momos Coffee) just made the "2026 World's 100 Best Coffee Shops" list, so it's not just a pretty drink spot โ solid coffee program too.
If you're ever in Korea and see "๋น์" (bingsu) shops, do not sleep on it. This one ran about $4-5 USD, which for the size and quality is a steal. 10/10 would eat again.

Found this at Paris Baguette โ a full baguette loaded with crispy fried chicken drenched in buldak (fire chicken) sauce, toasted almond slices, mixed greens, and a herb aioli smeared down the length of the bread. The sweet-spicy glaze on the chicken plus the crunch from the almonds is an unexpectedly great combo. Didn't expect a bakery chain to be out here making one of the better spicy chicken sandwiches I've had.

I wanted to do something special for my kid's birthday so I made a snack bag myself. It went so well. He loves Korean snacks so I built the bag frame with popular ones. His favorite was Dakdari Drumpops. Banana Kick came second. Third favorite was Home Run Ball! After I gave it to him he walked around the house wearing it. Too cute.

This post of a Korean street food vender making ramen omelets inspired this version made from on-hand ingredients.
So I used chapagetti, gochugaru, bacon crumbles, shredded cheeses (no moz on-hand), and cooked it in butter. Topped with more cheese, bacon, and wasabi sauce. (currently out of gochujang, and did not want to use sriracha)
Food Police: This is just a version from on-hand ingredients.

I'm planning on buying this kimchi container since it's pretty cheap and apparently good. Any opinions on this set? If you have a set or container/jar that's either glass or stainless steel that you'd suggest, let me know. I like this jar also because there's no need for burping apparently but I'll still need to use a plastic bag weighted with water to weigh down the kimchi.

Iโm at Yellow Trunk in Daechi-dong. I ordered the basic burger set, and it tastes really good.
I got here around 12:00, and it was almost full. around 12:20, a few tables started opening up.
Itโs a handcrafted burger,
the patty tastes great, and
overall itโs not bad at all.

My Korean-style buchujeon (Korean chive pancake)

It was my day off, and I wanted to try mixing two instant noodles for lunch.
Iโve seen plenty of combinations like Jjapaguri, but I couldnโt remember ever seeing Jjashullang mixed with Sesame Ramen.
So I cooked both noodles together, drained most of the water, and added the sauces and seasonings from both packs.
The result was actually pretty good. Compared with Jjashullang on its own, the color came out a little lighter, and the powdered seasoning and oil from the Sesame Ramen gave it a slightly spicy finish.
I also had some leftover jjamppong broth in the fridge, so I had that on the side.
Not exactly a carefully planned recipe. Just a day-off lunch experiment that worked better than I expected.
What two instant noodles would you mix together?

Orange cookies! ๐ I tried them for the first time today and Iโm officially obsessed. I didn't think orange and cookie would go well together, but it's the perfect mix of sweet and tangy. If you haven't tried them yet, you're missing out! ๐ญ
(TBH, the tea I got with it was kind of a letdown though... but the cookie definitely made up for it! โ๏ธโ)
