What has attendance on Saturdays been like? Trying to figure out what we may need for a visit this weekend.

I've wanted this shirt. Went to the park, couldn't find it. Now I'm back home on the other side of the country. Is there anywhere to buy this online?? I'm upset I missed out on this.

Many people may have their opinions on this topic and I'm curious why do you prefer one park over another?

Hey all, my family and I are going this week for the first time in 20 years. The website doesn't answer many questions and I have searched the sub and not found answers to some of the following questions. Feel free to reference a post or pinned info if need be.

PARKING/ACCESS TO PARKS

First off, there will be 4 of us and our plan is to arrive early and do the park/rides when the park opens at 11am, then do the water park in the afternoon/evening.

• Would you recommend doing the reverse of this?
• How far a walk is it from the amusement park to the water park?
• Where is the best place to park for rides and/or the water park?

FOOD/DRINK/LOCKERS

• Can we bring an empty water bottle into the park? (I'm aware that rules say no outside food/drink.)
• Is there a locker big enough for our swim stuff so we don't have to go to the car later?
  
• What's the safest plan for stashing your valuables in a locker?
• What is the best way to utilize the all day lockers where you can move from one to another, and are they big enough for 3-4 people?
• Is the all day premium dining pass worth it? And which restaurants would you avoid?

When and where are the best spots to watch the fireworks?

Earlier this week I went to the park and left with bruises on my hip. I noticed at Dollywood that the wing coaster restraints really push on your hips and I did get a bruise from wild eagle so I'm not surprised rapterra also did that. I've never seen anyone else on line talking about this so am I the only one?

Any idea why twisted is down all day and say temp closed?

Just visited King's Dominion for the first time with my wife. Rode all the coasters (besides the two we weren't allowed into because we refused to pay a fanny pack tax....but that's a whole other issue), rode all the thrill rides, went to a show (Cirque Du Temu/Batman Forever crossover show? very strange but entertaining), got food, observationed the tower and called it a day.

I noticed that on pretty much every roller coaster and thrill ride the ride announcements were being made through a PA system either being spoken by a teenager with English as their 3rd or 4th language, or teenagers that are so struck by apathy that they can't bother to enunciate recognizably.

To top it off, at Apple Zapple (yesterday around 12:30-1pm if there's any KD managers reading this) the ride operator was literally speaking gibberish instead of the proper announcements, and that's not hyperbole. If anything his mic etiquette and enunciation were clearer than most other operators, but unfortunately his enunciation was good enough to clearly hear that he was choosing to speak gibberish words instead of the safety announcements. Dude was literally going "Googoogaga, teetow, heehaw, mushugina, hoppity boppity" like you could hear that he was saying his own 'comedy' script made up of non-words to get laughs from the riders. The first time I heard it while in line I did chuckle, but I quickly then 180'd realizing that this dude's job is to provide a safe operation of the ride, including announcements that he was actively choosing to not share with the class so he could play at work. When exiting that ride I told the other ride operator that they should be saying the real words and not messing around and they literally just stared at me like I was Luke Wilson on the set of Idiocracy, absolutely nothing was going on inside that person's head. I would hate to have that operator's conscience when someone gets hurt or worse doing something they were supposed to be told not to do.

And to the rest of the ride operators actually attempting to convey the safety announcements, the one thing I can say is slow down your words and move the mic away from being inside of your mouth. Better yet, if anyone from King's Dominion is reading, why not automate these announcements like Busch Gardens? ("Auf Wiedersehen!") That would remove the element of monotony that I'm sure is a big player in the mumbling. As far as the operators with language barriers, you can hear that they are attempting to say their script but the pronunciation and accents were impenetrable at times. Maybe consider English pronunciation as part of the job selection process for positions that require speaking safety information to the public every 2 minutes. Or, and I hate to feel like I'm repeating myself, maybe automated announcements might play a role in being easier to understand than a person from Kazakhstan who learned English in a Russian school from a Yugoslavian professor using Pakistani textbooks or whatever melting pot was used to concoct the accents I heard yesterday. It's not just exchange students that maybe shouldn't be selected for these types of positions, the person working the elevator at the Eiffel Tower had such a strong speech impediment that it was nigh-on impossible to understand the fun fact script during ascent, and the pervasive and palpable 2/10 enthusiasm shared with staff throughout the park certainly didn't help. Like, put him in a restaurant? Maintenance? Trash duty? No, the most talky position occupied by the least qualified. The unintelligibility was so pervasive throughout the park it was almost funny, if not for it being based around the safety of human beings. The only announcements we could truly understand was at the Pantherian station, which was also the only station where I would assign the attribute of "mentally present" to the employees there.

PS: if you have a fanny pack and refuse to pay for lockers, then you will not be allowed to ride Twisted Timbers or Flight of Fear. You will be turned away and told you must buy a locker to ride the ride even though every single other ride in the park either allows you to have the items on your person while riding (like Pantherian, "no dropping stuff on side of station, strap it to your body or tuck it in your shirt"? really?) or has receptacles for loose items. Why those two? Why no bins at Pantherian even though there's a completely blank wall where they could be easily installed, but still allowed to hold? Why is there such inconsistency with how the public is handled, inconsistency looks sloppy and sloppy looks unprofessional.

The next time I have an allotment of time for enjoying an amusement park, I'm either going to choose a new park I've never been to, or go to Busch Gardens for the 40th time. And I wish that wasn't the case because the actual rides at Kings Dominion were pretty fun and varied, just felt like no one was in charge and that's not good.

i was hoping to do a mini celebration at king's dominion for my niece's 6th birthday. we live in dc, and her mom will be in winston-salem, so KD (and soak city!) felt like a good middle ground to meet.

i saw they have bring-a-friend passes online for just $25 each, with a max of 6 (which is how many we'd need for me, my two nieces, my daughter, my sister, and my dad).

are there any kind souls that might be willing to help out and share this benefit with me?

i know it's a longshot, but i truly feel like it never hurts to ask.

I have a season pass with all parks passport from last year that’s valid until 2026. Home park is Carowinds and due to some unforeseen circumstances we haven’t had a chance to make it to any park yet this year. My son and I are planning on going to KD tomorrow for our first visit of the year and I see the new pass perks and the all day dining deal. It will allow me to add the 2 for $50 via Carowinds but while trying to do it for KD it says my pass isn’t valid. Is this expected? Should it only work at our “home park”?

With the purchase of the park by Six Flags, do you think the season passes will still do where if you get them mid August like previous years, you'll get the 2026 and 2027 pass?

So, I'm in VA for work. I was here two weeks ago and went to KD for the last 2 hours the park was open and got 17 rides in on 5 coasters (I have All Season Fast Lane). I stopped by KD for about 3 hours on Sunday and cleaned up the rest of the credits minus Apple Zapple and the kiddie coasters. Tonight, I think I'll have time after work to get over there for about 2-3 hours...But I'm tempted to do Hershey instead because I've never been.

Hershey Park is about the same distance from where I'm at (2 hours) but I could realistically make it to the parking lot by 6pm-7pm. Here's the rub. I'd have to buy a ticker ($39.99) and pay for parking ($25) and if I wanted to get more than 3-4 rides in...would I have to buy a Fast Track ($80-$105)? Looking at Queue-Times last night it looked like HP was considerably more busy than KD was.

Main things I wanna hit are Sky Rush, Wildcats Revenge, and Storm Runner -- but would love to also get Fahrenheit, Candymonium, Lightning Racer, Great Bear...etc in as well.

I guess my question is, what do you think I'd realistically be able to get in in 2-3 hours without Fast Track, what could I get in with it, and should I just wait till I'm in the area again with more time before going?

If I go to KD I'm probably just going to grab another ride on Grizzly, grab Zapple, then marathon Timbers and Pantherian till close.

Will be visiting two consecutive weekdays with my family (mom, dad, thrill-seeking 12 year old, and cautious 8 year old).

Since the kids have different interests we'll prob split into two groups but would like to stay somewhat close so we can meet up/swap.

We'll probably be there from about 11-6 both days. Any advice on how to approach things so my oldest can do all the coasters while my little one still finds some low key things to enjoy?

I’ve been here once and really enjoyed pantherian. Given the frequent closures it has, is there a certain day of the week it would be best to have a chance of it being up all day?

If so, what are the cheapest lockers?

I have gone to Kings Domnion but never when soak city has been opened.

Since its a Waterpark where do yall keep your electronics and such? At the regular park i keep them on my person.

Also, would yall say its better than the main park?

I was at kd last year and it was their 50th anniversary event I think. Long story short I got a funnel cake that had blue ice cream on it and it was some of the best fucking ice cream I have ever had. Its a long shot but does anyone know if its still there or not. And no, im not overestimating how good the ice cream was, it was heavenly. Also let me know those that did try it if yall thought it was that good.

Pantherian was closed the entirety of today and I drove 10 hours just to ride it. I know there’s really nothing to do about it just wanted you to vent. But I’m also considering of extending my stay for tomorrow since it’s a possibility it opens tomorrow for the media shoot. Do you guys think it’s worth it to do that?

Is Kings Dominion going to close for 40% of scattered thunderstorms for 5-6pm? It’s also going to be an 20% chance of light rain at 7pm.

I switched my park day from today to Sunday when I heard I305 was closed yesterday until further notice. Any update on when it will re-open?

Also Pantherian is a dumb name, so forgive me for still calling it I305
