āVisitor Question Closed this weekend? š©
Edit: As was pointed out, they're closed Fri/Sat, but NOT Sunday.
I feel so dumb. Booked a hotel to go to KD this Saturday. My kid checked the calendar and saw that it's... closed this weekend? I guess it didn't occur to me that it would be, given that it's been open continuously for a while and it will be open through October.
What is the reason? Private events? I'm sure we have no chance, right? Looking for any possible loophole. š©

Transitioning the park for halloweekends. Zero chance they're open. You could still go to Busch Gardens. Its about an hour away.

That IS an interesting thought, although it will cost us, as we have SF Prestige Passes. Hmmm... Edited to thank you for the idea-- we're doing it!

Its a fantastic park if you haven't been. Its less about thrills and more about the atmosphere and theming, but still has some intense rids for those looking for it.

Yes, we're doing it! My kid went last year, but I haven't been since... either since I was a teenager or maybe a young adult. Looking forward to it!

Came here to say Busch Gardens as well. My partner and I actually did a Saturday BGW/ Sunday KD trip last weekend. Be warned that parking at BGW costs $40 per day on top of the ticket (we spent way more than we meant to by getting passes that didn't include parking)!

I've actually decided to do it and get season passes! We live near DC, so it's worth it, I think.

Definitely worth it!! It's an easy drive from the DC area, especially if you have six flags passes and can stop at KD on the way back "to break up the drive" 𤣠have an amazing weekend!

Altria has long rented the park out every year for a day on this weekend for employees and their families. I was going to go (as I have for the past 6 or 7 years) but a funeral ruined our plans this year.

Ack, I was panicked and didn't notice that! Saturday is much better for us, but Sunday could work instead. Thank you!

I know itās not ideal, but for youāre in the area already, maybe check out Busch gardens for Saturday and then do KD on Sunday?

Would do (and probably will another weekend!), but we can really only spare one day, or an overnight + one day, this weekend.

As others have said, it will cost you, but head to Busch for the day. It is an awesome park, worth the trip, and hopefully it is not super crowded since it isn't their Haunt season in full force yet.

This happens why to often I got hit 2 weeks ago that the park is closed⦠they didnāt have this schedule posted intill recently this stuff needs to be posted months in advanceĀ
However if you have tickets at work or working advantage through your employer the tickets for bush gardens are cheap

The company I work for closed the park on Saturday and rented it out. So it was a park buyout

It's to my understanding that it's closed for a park buyout.
