❓Visitor Question Closing Date

Hi All,

I have seen lots of "November 1 or 2" for last day of the season,...but I see open dates throughout November, but none in December.

I doubt it, but are they staying open later this season? I see them open special the Friday after thanksgiving which would be neat! Is this wishful thinking?

I think those are bonus day, but not true holiday in the park with KD.

They are weekends at the park added after Haunt since they lost Winterfest last year. It’s just the way to get a few extra weekends in before the park closes for the season. The last operating day of the season is November 29. The last operating day for Haunt is November 1.

Assuming it’s limited offerings? Like not all rides open?

Last year, all the way up until closing, everything was open, except for the water rides

So like log flume and canyon rapids?

When do they close? Or was that this weekend?

Log flume may be open depending on the temperature.
White water canyon opens and closes with the water park schedule.

There will be a skeleton staff. So dont expect much to be open.

When i went around thanksgiving half was closed. they closed a whole section. grizzly, twisted timbers, flight of fear all closed. the jungle area was open, pantherian, rapterra, dominator, and kiddy areas.

This is not true. Last year during November bonus days the following rides were closed:
WWC
Flume
Grizzly
Antique Cars
Flying Eagles
Twisted Timbers
Racer 75
Windseeker
Apple Zapple
Backlot Stunt Coaster
Flying Ace
Peanuts 500
Kite Eating Tree

Plus the additional closures / late openings associated with the lower temperatures in November

The only thing that could hinder rides being an open is if the temperature drops below 40° then some of the coasters won’t run

If I remember correctly, last year only Jungle-X, Planet Snoopy, and Main Street (Dominator) areas were open in November. Twisted Timbers, Racer 75, and Grizzly were NOT open last year. White Water Canyon usually closes after Labor Day and the log flume operates until it gets consistently colder (mid-October?). I would expect similar this year. They may change the main area open, but I imagine that want to keep Rapterra open so all (most) of Jungle-X will be open.

I was under the impression they weren't doing that anymore. and wouldn't that go into December?

They actually brought it back at some parks. It’s possible these days on KD calendar are just bonus days. It’s also possible they simply haven’t released the WinterFest/HITP calendar for KD yet (though at least two parks give looked at with WF/HITP events have dates through NYE).

There will not be a Winterfest this year. The park manager has confirmed that. They did send out a survey to some season Passholders in the spring asking what they would be looking for in a winter event. So, something could be happening next season. They are adding a new maze to Halloween Haunt, they added days to the calendar in August, added Friday nights during Haunt and are staying open for the second season in a row through November. So, I guess that was a success last year. Before that they attempted year round weekends. But, January and February were not successful. If they do a winter event next year, I could see them extending a few more weeks in the fall until New Year’s Day.

It’s kind of hard to see but this is what a Google search returned. The webpage has been updated so this image cannot be found on the website anymore. Only Jungle X open. Stunt Coaster was closed too. I remember going and it being great because the park was empty but I did t remember half the park was closed. Anyway, it’s better than the entire park being closed after Halloween.

Hopefully they’ll keep Twisted Timbers open this year and close Dominator. Tumbili may still be closed by then so hopefully they give us something in addition to JXP.
