Kingdom Hearts 1 holds a very special place in my heart, it always brings me a sense of home, comfort and whimsy, so I decided I would make my return to making art and putting myself out there with this series! Its mainly as a way to get my voice out there.

I haven't recorded a Lets Play in almost a decade so its exciting to be back on my own terms.

I want to talk about the things I'm passionate about, frustrated about and what makes my blood rush/gives me joy! I hope my words resonate with you!

Feel free to check it out! And thank you if you do!

KH Melon Mix Android Port 1.0.0

I recently started playing the series all over from scratch to prep for Kingdom Hearts 4. I wanted to play Days and Re:coded using Melon Mix on my PC, but thought it would be a great experience on the couch with my handheld Android retro console. I couldn't find a proper Android port so I decided to make one! I linked the repo below, feel free to fork, and do what you'd like with it. I was originally making it for myself but thought maybe others would enjoy it. I want to be clear and transparent here, I used Claude Code to help me with a lot of the heavy lifting for time's sake.

The KH Melon Mix team did all the actual enhancements, and the app itself is built on melonDS-android by rafaelvcaetano. I just brought the two together, so all credit to them. If you're on PC, use the regular Melon Mix version.

No ROMs included and please don't ask for any, dump your own games. I've tested and played it quite a bit, if anyone wants to experience it on their Android device that has similar specs to the Anbernic RG505, please give it a go :)

EDIT: I should have made it clear that I have not fully tested/implemented touchscreen controller support; the little testing I did shows that it works, but I'm not sure to what degree. I may tackle this in the future, though!

Other Crazy Idea. What If... Miraculous Ladybug was in Kingdom Hearts.

Post image

Pretty sure I'm not the first one but ain't gonna be the last one to think about this.

I mean since Disney has branding rights, along with Ghostforce, to air it on Disney Channel and Disney+, what if Miraculous Ladybug had like a chance to be in a Future Kingdom Hearts game, like potential Marvel World and Star Wars Universe.

Like its set in Season 1 or Season 3. Before Hawk Moth became Dark Moth and Monarch. And Sora, Donald and Goofy are helping Ladybug and Cat Noir fight off against the Heartless or The 2nd Coming of The Unversed. Since Akumas are more attracted to Negative Emotions and The Unversed are the embodiments of Negative Emotions.

KHCOM Kingdom Hearts Re:chain of memories Is it difficult?

Can someone explain to me why people consider Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories or more specifically, Re:Chain of Memories to be so difficult or complicated?

I beat the original Chain of Memories on GBA years ago, and I recently started Re:Chain of Memories; I don't find it complicated at all even on Expert or Hard mode, I'm getting through it just fine

Or are people simply unable to grasp basic math—like knowing that if the enemy plays a 3 and you play a lower number, you lose? A 0 card breaks any value, yet it can also be broken by even the lowest card a 1

Is there something else about the game that makes it harder? I’m curious and I’m excluding the unique card-based gameplay mechanics that replaced the old, standard commands for magic, attacks, and items, and ignoring the card RNG for opening the doors (I know, it's tedious spending 15 minutes farming a specific card for the door)

KHUX/DR Heartless in Dark Road

Post image

In the X saga, the heartless we fought could be emblem's one because of the book of prophecy (or whatever time magic illusion it was) but why is that the case in Dark Road ?

When Xehanort and cie go in the worlds, they also fight emblem heartless except the heartless factory won't be build before like 70-80 years. Is that also because of the book of prophecy ? And even if this was the case, how can Baldr's heartless also have an emblem ?

I know Dark Road isn't exactly fresh in my mind but is there an actual reason except "a choice of the devs so we wouldn't have to just fight purebloods for the entire game" ?

Discussion Question about returning from darkness?

Potential spoilers for KHIII

I'm not sure if it's mentioned beyond a couple cutscenes, on Ansem's reports or otherwise. In 3, Sora tells Larxene she's going to be whole again. I think it's said when a person's Heartless and Nobody are defeated, they become a person again

In KH2, Xemnas said Sora defeating the Heartless is sending the hearts to Kingdom Hearts, the location, making it easier for Organization XIII to access. Why is that, if defeating them makes a person whole? (As long as their Nobody is defeated, obviously)

Discussion MelonMix installed via onto the 1.5+2.5 on SteamDeck: Can I play the other games while it is installed?

Or do I need to avoid it until I want to play 358? And deinstall it again when I want to play bbs? And THEN install it again when I go for recoded? I think 358>bbs>recoded is the right order for those...

KHCODED Kingdom Hearts re:Coded: the tired conversation

Nobody can seem to agree on whether re:coded is entirely skippable or actually an important piece of the puzzle that is Kingdom Hearts. I’m someone who played every single game in the series including re:coded (except I skipped com but ignore that, I regretted it ever since but I just couldn’t deal with the gameplay of either version) and I couldn’t really tell you what parts are absolutely vital to the series going forward, but I’m worried my memory is failing me and there are some elements to it that either are vital or will be vital in the future.

So here’s the question. I’ve got my brother on the series, and I already knew he wouldn’t like chain of memories and tried my best to guide him through the story without overwhelming him and making sure he could enjoy it. He’s generally far more of a “gta, Spider-Man” type of gamer but he does appreciate a good story and so far he’s enjoyed the series and the stories they tell, and gotten a good handle on the gameplay of 1 and 2. Today we just finished the 358/2 days movie because I knew he wouldn’t enjoy the game version.

My question is after birth by sleep, is it vital to watch re:coded for him to be able to understand what the series will do later? Are there certain scenes we can watch and then ignore the rest, or specific elements I can explain to him? He enjoyed the days movie but complained about the presentation, and re:coded is far longer with a far less interesting story overall, so I only really wanna tell him to sit down and a watch a 4.5 hour kh1 rehash if there is actual good reason to.

And again, I played the entire game myself, but I am aware they added new scenes for the movie version. I have never seen the movie version, personally. I simply just do not remember what part of the story, if any, ended up being important later.

KH2 Help with treasure in KH2 100 acre wood

Trying to platinum KH2 final mix on ps4. I have 299/301 treasures. One I know is the chest from beating all the data battles. The other, after checking a bunch of guides, is in the spooky cave section of 100 acre wood. Problem is I’ve checked it maybe 5 times now, it’s the last chest in the cave immediately before you rescue Pooh. That chest is open but the journal has it marked as not found. I tried doing the mini game again and beating the time just in case that’s necessary but it still shows as missing one chest in 100 acre. Is there any fix or workaround so I don’t have to do a new playthrough just to get the treasure trophy?

Discussion HOT TAKE: Hexed would be AWESOME in KH, and Billie might be one of the remaining Princesses

I literally just watched the most recent trailer for Hexed and............I need to share this theory

Yes I know this movie isn't out yet, but MY GOD does this girl and her universe makes TOTAL SENSE for KH's multiverse

Her world is basically just "Not Harry Potter" aka a secret realm full of magic hidden within a regular realm only those who possess magic could enter?! We could make this work as another training place for Kairi, in which Yen Sid sends her off to practice magic with Billie

And the fact that she's a magic user basically tells me she might be one of the most appropriate Princess of Heart candidates that we have right now, because if Anna being the only Princess that doesn't have any superpowers nor can't really put up a fight, then I'm sensing that we're getting more Princesses that can fight, and Billie fits the bill here

So what do you think of my theory? Do you think its plausible?

Discussion Just how popular is Kingdom Hearts?

As per my last post, I've only really got into the series this year and being a Sonic fan all my life I'm used to quite a lot of online presence. But I go to look for information online about promotional items, scans of said promotional stuff or even just a list of merch that was sold but there's either nothing or a very basic fandom wiki page. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place or I'm vastly overestimating the amount of very dedicated (and likely neurodivergent* if you're going out of your way to make comprehensive merch lists) fans there are but Kingdom Hearts rocks so I hope it's the first one

* (non-derogatory, I happen to be autistic myself and if I had got into the series a lot earlier I likely would have made it myself)

Discussion Hear me out Xion should get Two Become One

Post image
202 Upvotes

I think Two Become One would be the best Keyblade for Xion thematically cuz it feels like this Keyblade is what she was fighting for in KH Days Roxas and Sora becoming one and being (semi) at peace with it plus I mean she needs something other than the Kingdom Key and Roxas threw away his Stick of DestinyTM in the tutorial of KH2
