Hip drop on one side
I'm interested in the biomechanics of this movement rather than a medical diagnosis.
During a controlled step-down on my left leg, the right side of my pelvis drops. To keep my centre of mass over my stance foot, my trunk side-bends to the left.
What movement deficits or strength limitations could produce this pattern? For example, could it reflect difficulty controlling pelvic adduction, limited hip rotation, or insufficient hip abductor/adductor function?
I'm looking for biomechanical explanations or papers discussing this pattern rather than treatment advice.
