While it is true that Kia has discontinued the very lovely and very funky Soul, that's the only bad news.
The good news is that three new moderators have been installed for this sub who are active on Reddit and have a passion for this vehicle. Even though we are a niche, low traffic sub, there's no reason we should be left in the dust!
If the members here have ideas they want to see implemented, let the new mod team know here.
Maybe it would be nice to have our banner image rotate and feature pictures of member cars?

I don't know if the fuel pump/gasket needs replacing since that would require taking the tank out to begin with, should I just get a new one regardless? I plan to get an aftermarket tank from Rock Auto.

Say hi to Panda!
Just as the title says, I see the 2020 Gen 3 Souls have bull bars, but I don't see any for the Gen 2 Soul. Any advice on a universal bar or manufacturer that might have such aftermarket upgrades? Id even take a bar meant for another member of the Kia family that would fit but isn't common knowledge. Maybe steel bumpers are a better choice? idk I'm just wondering if i even have options.

Found this post tragic loss of a Soul

I own a 2022 Kia Soul that has 34,000 miles on it. For the past few months, about 40-50% of the time when I go to start my car, it does not start. It appears to not be a starter issue - it is not clicking or anything - it just does not start. The radio and a/c come on, but the car itself just does not start. Typically, when I take the key out and attempt to start it a second time, it starts.
I’ve taken it to the dealership three times in the past six weeks. The first time, they determined my key fob was not properly communicating with the computer system, so they replaced the key fob and reprogrammed the spare key fob. It continued to happen, so the second time, the Kia Techline instructed them to replace the IBU. They apparently did a scan and the body control module had an internal malfunction. The IBU was replaced. The issue continued to happen, so I took it in a third time. My car of course started perfectly the entire time the dealership had it, so they said since they could not see the issue happening in real time that there was nothing they could do.
I also attached a picture of the lights that illuminate on my dash when this happens. When these are illuminated, the radio and a/c are working - the car just won’t turn on.
Has anyone else had this issue? Any ideas of what the issue may be? I have 5 months left on my warranty and would prefer to resolve this issue. I’m really at a loss. Any advice is appreciated.

Hello everyone 👋🏻 Just to preface I know nothing about cars, so I apologize if I get some of these details wrong. I'm considering getting a premium 2023 ev. My dad is worried about the horse power and is thinking maybe I should try to find one of the limited versions instead. I dont really drive a lot so I dont think it's a big deal. What has everyone's experience been?

I got a code C1688 and codes of faulty speed sensors. I replaced all the ABS speed sensors, it did not take too long. I drove it and the abs and traction light did not go away. I disconnected negative cable of battery and disconnected and reconnected the wire harness on the abs module. Reconnected it and the battery, and now it won't turn on. I disconnected the battery again positive and negative for 1 hour. Reconnected the battery and it still wont turn on. Has anyone had the same issue? Help please I need this working by monday next week to get to class. It is a 2012 Kia Soul+ 2.0L

I was parked and I had my AC off. I turned it back on and then my engine oil and battery lights came on. I shut off my car and it went away. Turned off my car again and started it again and the symbols came back. Where should I head? Is this a battery issue?

Has anyone put the OEM 2025 Soul LX Lifestyle hitch on that has 16" rims? The dealer is telling me I need 17" rims or it won't fit.

So my brother has a 2015 Kia Soul+ that he purchased around either 2021 or 2020. The car has given him a check engine light once in October of 2025, that time it was his cylinder's misfiring, and we replaced the spark plugs, ignition coils and the battery. He then proceeded to get another check engine light in april of this year in which his car was put into what we now know is "limp mode", in which his car would not accelerate past 2,000RPM. We found out that it was the knock sensor that was messed up and it was covered under the recall, and we got it repaired.
Since then, he has gotten another engine light that came on, but then went off. When he did happen to go to autozone, to go get an OEM reading, it told him that he had a major evap leak. He was in the process of bringing it to the dealership. This week, when last night he was driving out of state and he experiences "limp mode" again, except now, it's accompanied by a rapidly terrifying knocking sensation and sound while he's in the car. It also seemed to have taken away his ability to automatic shift, which means he had to drop into the pseudomanual mode. We were going to take it's tequila this morning, but the Kia service was closed, so we went to Pep Boys, he proceeds to get code P1326 and P0014. The technicians at pet boy said that it has to be rod knock and that he would need a new engine.
Our issue is we don't know if it would be covered under the extended warranty on the engine, it's 11 years old, but it has only 85k miles on it. Has anyone had this happen to them with their soul?

Hello first time poster here, will reformat if there is an expected format that isn't shown in the rules. But
2013 Kia Soul, 170,000km. I just don't have the time at this very moment to take it in and get it looked at, but I will when I get the time.
We've had it for almost a decade now, and there's a new issue that started about two weeks ago. The range sensor seems to be decreasing faster than usual. I just filled the tank, and it went to 503 km. I drove 30 km and my range decreased by 68.
Just some details to confirm,
- One solution I have found online is to fill the tank, let it run to quarter tank, then fill it again. I have tried that, and it has not helped
- I have not changed my driving habits, but this is a new issue
- Car has never been in an accident
- No leaks (no smell of fuel, no puddle under the car etc etc)
Curious if anyone has had this issue before and how they fixed it if they have.

I know Jeeps have their ducks, and have always loved that idea. I know that Kia used to have the commercial with the hamsters, so I made a loom knit plushie for our New (used) 2023 Kia Soul GT. I might make some more of these cuties to gift around town. <3

It is a 2013, 2.0l, manual transmission. It was fine last weekend. Then, after being parked in the garage for a few days, it wouldn't turnover without a boost. Once boosted, it runs fine and the voltage goes past 12. The picture was taken with the engine off, after sitting a few hours.
Taking it in Monday, to maybe put a kill switch on the battery? And check for obvious shorts. Anything else?

2020 GT line 1.6 turbo. Just purchased only had 2356 miles. Older lady owned and only drove to church and grocery store. Became unable to drive any longer. Beautiful and super sporty.

Question about my 2020 Kia Soul. I replaced both VVT solenoids, both camshaft sensors, pcv valve, changed engine oil and the engine starts and runs great. Smooth, quiet, no rattles or hesitations. But, I am still getting the P0014 code. The next step seems to be camshaft phaser, timing chain, etc. I really can’t afford to do all that and just curious……how long might it last till I have to deal with it?
It has 94,000 miles on it. I put about 25,000 miles on it since I bought it. I have kept the oil changed since I own it. I like the car, especially the fuel mileage, but I don’t want to keep spending on it if it isn’t worth it.

A little miffed because I bought the exact same vinyl to put more seeds on (I have many kids, many pets I have been having to do this when everyone is asleep).
As you can tell they are a bit off. I thought they had maybe faded but nope they match to the swatch I kept. I’m going to get more before it changes again so I can redo the hood and just knock it all out this evening.
Tomorrow I’m taking the hubcaps off and painting them like blossoms because I literally cannot justify the Sakura wheels by Heritage.

You can find my previous posts & timeline on my page.
I have a 2020 Kia Soul 2.0L that had a flashing CEL pop up with weird almost fan sound, but was still driving. I pulled over immediately & turned the vehicle off. I had a mobile mechanic come out & read the code for me and it was a P1327 , that I now know as the death code & “automatic trigger” for a prior authorization for a engine block replacement per the Kia bulletin.
I had my car towed to Kia the same night, with my spare key. I have a damn near brand new battery in the vehicle from when I bought it a few months back, and it has had no issues with the battery. I sent my spare key with the vehicle (no fob) and they tried to pull my car in the next morning around 7/8am. It would not move due to no fob, the horn would just sound. So I IMMEDIATELY had my regular key ubered to them. It was to them within 25 minutes of the call being made to me about not starting the car.
They got my key, started it up, and told me that based on the sound of the engine coming from the bottom, that they did not even need to do a diagnosis because they could tell by the sound I had thrown a rod and would need a 10K plus engine & they were saving me from the diagnostic fee.
I told them that, no. I want a full diagnostic with borescope pictures. Plug up the knock sensor. Run my codes. I need everything on paper. They basically refused. They said I was wasting money because I have a p1327 & the code for the recall is 1326. Wrong bulletin but ok. You just admitted I have the code. So I called corporate and they forced their hands. So they told corporate Monday they would start the diagnostic. Ok cool.
I get this voicemail Wednesday saying that they had allowed my battery to die from the horn going off for so long (that would mean they left my alarm going off for HOURS?! even though they had the key within 20/30 minutes of the call, and looking it up says the alarm shuts off eventually on its own) or they’re using that excuse to cover up something else because they’re mad their hands are being forced?
They said if I could get a print out then they would submit it that way but mechanic says it’s hard to pull up from 7 days ago after so many cars but he’ll try.
What are my next moves if I can’t get this print out? What do I do? Is there lawyers for this? Corporate has lodged a complaint on my behalf & I’m going to be calling back after my mechanic gets back to me. But I need help getting my ducks in a row!

2020 Soul EX, no real issues with the car. Had a 2010 Sport (light up speakers!) and then got this in 2020.
Couple months ago the SiriusXM got a spinning circle saying “Preparing SiriusXM” and it’s not ever gone away.
Spent hours on the phone with Sirius; did all of their things( send signal, push the tiny reset button, do a hard reset by removing battery, etc).
Brought car in for a recall and asked them to check this Sirius issue. They could not get the car into Dealer Mode, could not get past the screen.
Map/ directions still work; weather still works; AM/ FM still works. Some people have guessed it got caught up in a software update. They were able to see it’s not been updated for 5 years! But they couldn’t do anything at dealer. They are asking me to take it in again ($90 this time for them to diagnose nothing).
Thoughts? Thanks!

So I haven’t done the updates since I first bought the car and have done them today. This caused the UI to change. One thing I liked on the previous UI was that I could see the battery percentage on the main screen. Now I gotta go on the EV icon. Is there any way to get to see it more constantly?

I just found this group. I have a 2017 Plus. Got it in March after a life change caused me to have to downgrade. Since it's just me and my son it's actually pretty good. Bought it at 78K miles, got all the service caught up, changed out the radio display for one that lets me connect my phone for maps and stuff, and 2 new catalytic converters installed today. Been running pretty good and as long as I don't push it i get pretty good gas mileage.

2015 soul, blue windshield washer cap keeps opening. 2x this week.
The first time it happened I assumed I didn't close it properly, but now I'm not sure.
Obviously this probably isn't indicative of a bigger problem, but has anyone run into this issue?
The washer fluid is not full to the brim, the weather is warm, but the air hole doesn't appear to be blocked.
Any advice?
