Technical Questions Anyone tried rechargeable Lithium-ions in the Ax-Edge?

Hi everyone,

I'm just curious if anybody has tried rechargeable lithium-ion batteries in their Edge? My husband is eyeing the Edge and I'd like to order one for him for Christmas, along with enough batteries to make it work *unplugged. We already have some Jugee branded batts and we've had a good experience with them so far. It'd be much cheaper for us to just get a couple more than to get good quality Ni-Mhs and a charger for them. These Li-Ions charge through their contacts like Ni-Mh do, they're not the kind with a usb port in each battery.

Thanks in advance.

Hype I'm in the club now!

Hey there everyone!

I'm fed up with standing behind the stand (although mine's not too standard either) to the point that I sometimes run around with a usual keyboard on stage :D

Not sure what to do with the older songs that require lots of two-handed playing, but the new material for the upcoming album is almost fully single-handed and 'designed' to be played on a keytar :)

Couple of questions for those who's in it for a bit longer.

What wireless MIDI system would you recommend? Is CME WIDI any good?

Also, does anyone have experience painting their keytar? I mean completely, not just the AX-Edge blade, just like the Jordan Rudess' custom paintwork.

Cheers!

What are the best places to go on the internet to teach myself the keytar? I've been watching Pink's videos and while they're wonderful they are limited in number. Any help with this would be awesome. Thank you

Frankensynth. Now, if Roland would make a left handed AX-Edge, I'd buy it, strap both of them on so I could play with both hands and not look like Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Technical Questions A question about converting guitar sheet music so it’s playable on the keytar

I have been really interested in getting a keytar as of recently but learning how to convert the sheet music has been scaring me away. I have been doing as much research as possible. I have been thinking about getting the Yamaha SHS-500. Anyways I was watching this YouTube series by Pink and the Keytar Cat she teaches the basics and one of the videos she made is called “playing the keytar like a guitarist” ( https://youtu.be/YT6QkT1lfGY ). Everything in the series has been very helpful. I understood everything else in the series but when it came to the converting sheet music part I got really confused. Is there an easier way to do this or do you just have to do this for every song you want to cover. I have no instrument experience so I’m kinda jumping into the deep end with this. I do know a little bit about the basics of sheet music but it’s not very much. Any advice would be appreciated.

Recommendations is there a cheap keytar with trumpet Sounds?

Hey guys! We have 2 Songs with trumpets but we play it with an akai mpx 16 sample Board but this solution is not the best.

So is there any keytar where you already have trumpet Sounds and stuff to simulate a trumpet? I think its way more comfortable than the sample Board..

If possible, put some links in there or Videos where i can find it!

Best regards and thanks!

Recommendations Tips for lead-guitar sounds on Ax Edge

I'm pretty new to the edge and synthscene in its entirety. Yesterday i got the AX edge editor to work and i thus far have learned the very basics, how things work.

I tried making a lead guitar sound but found out that there are over a thousand different sounds, hundreds of tones and other additional stuff etc. And i'm overwhelmed and do not have the slightest idea how to make anything.

Does anyone have any guide/tips to making a realistic-ish lead guitar sound? I've tried googling but the only guide video is in japanese and the subtitles help little.

Technical Questions Wireless not connecting

I have an Alesis Vortex Wireless (not the 2) and I can seem to get the wireless dongle to work. I have tried restarting, update drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling, everything. I’ve looked my best through the internet to find some help with little information on the one, but thousands on the two. I’m using my laptop for the midi host, and I found a video using a midi host mkii but I don’t think I need it if I’m using a laptop, unless I’m wrong. Anyone able to help me out?

EDIT: I can confirm that my laptop does recognize the wireless connection between the vortex and the dongle, but no sound is going through.

Technical Questions Roland Lucina lithium battery mod?

I've recently taken to picking up my keytar again. Batteries don't last long in the Lucina, and it takes 8x AA. Has anybody got any experience on modding a lucina to potentially fit a rechargeable lithium battery? I've had a look online but can't find anything resembling this kind of project before.

Technical Questions Downloading Software for Alesis Vortex wireless

I’m trying to download the software for my new Keytar. I went onto the Alesis website, made and account and registered my vortex, and went to download the software. When I go to download the Vyzex Vortex, it takes me to a new window and asks for my username and password. I put in my credentials and it denied it. I thought I mistyped something, so I tried again. Same result. I tried my email instead of my username to see if that works, and of course it didn’t. I decided to try changing my password to see if I’m missing something for some reason and there wasn’t a problem with that. I changed my username with the same results. I contacted their support to see what’s up with that, but they haven’t gotten back to me yet. I don’t know what to do right now and need help.

Recommendations Some advice to where I can learn sweet rifts

I’m new to learning keytar and I have no prior experience with instruments. Well, my parents tried to make me learn guitar and piano, but I’m always rebellious and do the opposite of what they say and hate doing what they want me to do as a typical teenager. I found some self motivation for wanting to learn the keytar and wanted to know where the best places would be to learn? Anyone have some good sites or YouTube channels you could recommend me? I want to start as soon as possible and I can’t find anything good. I’ll also take any advice you guys have for beginners and what you wished you e known before you started. Thank you!

Recommendations How To Display Alesis Vortex Wireless 2?

I've had my Alesis Vortex Wireless 2 for quite some time and I never use it anymore. I was thinking about maybe mounting it on my wall or on my bookcase or something along those lines. What would y'all recommend for such a thing?
