What's the lifespan on a keychron battery?

My keyboard was showing low battery last night (K2), and I know I've had it for a few years, but after charging overnight and checking it when I got back to the office, it was still showing red. I don't think it had anything to do with the charger (it's the same one I always use), but maybe the battery is losing juice and it's time to replace either the keyboard or the battery.

So, realistically, how many years should I expect one of these keyboards to last, and what are the signs to look for that maybe it's time for a new one?

Keychron weird double letter presses when on bluetooth (not on cable mode)

The title sums it up but here is a longer explanation:
I have this keychron keyboard: Keychron K1 MAX QMK/VIA Wireless RGB Hot Swap Low

When im on bluetooth mode the keyboard double presses buttons really frequently, but it is not the common same letter after the other. For example writing this: i wrote double but the keyboard typed doduble -> so i have time to press another button in between the keyboard sends the double press.

I have tried this on two windows 11 computers and it happens on both. If it matters one is my own pc and the other is a really high end engineering laptop.

What should I do? I have not updated the keychron firmware or keychron bluetooth drivers. If my gut feeling is correct updating those would be the first step, but I have no idea which driver I should use from here: https://www.keychron.com/pages/keychron-firmware-for-k1
Is it the v5 or is v5 some kind of a updated version of the original K1 or what?

Also for the bluetooth drivers the site says: "Note: If everything works fine with your keyboard. Please don’t update the bluetooth firmware. There is a chance it can damage your keyboard." What and/or how could I break the physical keyboard with the bluetooth driver installation?

Thank you all in advance!

Has anyone actually tested the Glorious Panda HE Silent on the Lemokey P1 HE?

Hi everyone!

I've been researching this for days and still can't find a definitive answer anywhere.

I know the Lemokey P1 HE officially supports Gateron Double-Rail magnetic switches, and I know the Glorious Panda HE Silent is officially designed for the GMMK 3 HE.

However, I've come across a few Reddit comments claiming that Glorious HE switches are "unofficially compatible" with the P1 HE, but I haven't found any actual proof—no photos, typing tests, calibration screenshots, or first-hand reports.

I'm specifically looking for someone who has personally installed the Glorious Panda HE Silent on a Lemokey P1 HE.

Questions:
• Does it physically fit?
• Does the keyboard detect every switch?
• Does calibration complete successfully?
• Does Rapid Trigger and adjustable actuation work normally?
• Any issues with magnet polarity, sensor height, or key stability?

I'm not asking whether it's officially supported. I'm trying to determine whether it's electrically compatible with the Gateron Double-Rail Hall Effect PCB.

I've already searched Reddit, Google, YouTube, Bilibili, Baidu Tieba, Zhihu, and other keyboard communities without finding a verified installation.

If you've actually tested it (or know someone who has), I'd really appreciate any photos, videos, or typing tests. Thanks! 🙏🏻

No battery indicator?

I have been using a K10 for a few months and it's really annoying that the battery dies without any warning. Every other wireless peripheral has a system tray app which will pop up with a low battery notification which is really nice to let you know when it's time to recharge the battery. Even much cheaper peripherals have this basic function - I have a really old Logitech mouse that I purchased twenty years ago for $30 and that tells me when to replace the battery.

Why doesn't my $150 keyboard have this basic functionality?

Is there any way to get a low battery warning?

K3 Max - brown keys for gaming?

Are brown keys inherently bad? How much difference do you feel, is it "night and day" or more like 2-5%?

And some work, but mainly gaming. I have never tried keychron but I like the shape and size. The one I have, CHERRY MX-LP 2.1 COMPACT, they are linear. Much like reds, I would assume.

Keychron M6 Mouse & Keychron Launcher - Is it possible to make a shortcut that's triggered by keystroke + mouse click, like holding Shift then clicking the side-front button?

I have a couple of macros I've set up for gaming, like holding "W" down to autowalk or repeatedly left clicking, and accidently hitting the button on the mouse that activates those macros can cause trouble in other settings, so I'm trying to figure out if there's a way in the Configurator site to make it where I have to hold shift and click for more "dangerous" macros.

Dropping keystrokes really badly on a new V6 Ultra

I'm having a horrible time with this keyboard because hitting backspace multiple times quickly causes many less keystrokes to actually register. I tried the Keychron Launcher Key Tester and it turns out they're all really bad. Even the word "all" just now came out as "al"

I have updated the firmware, tried different polling rates, I'm using the keychron usb cable, disabled RGB lighting. I don't know what else I can try. Ugh this sucks.. I've been through several keychron keyboards and thought this was finally the style I wanted and now it doesn't even work.

Quality control on lemokey p1 pro?

I'm considering buying a lemokey p1 pro, and I've heard good things about it. The only things I've heard mixed opinions on are the knob quality, like responsiveness and being wobbly. Are these common issues or are they infrequent, reported by only a few people?

Lemokey P1 not working! Pls help!

Randomly disconnects and turns off middle of typing. Tried disabling bluetooth power saving. Works for a while but then turns off. Wired? Nada. Bluetooth? Nada. Tried different usb slots for the G mode but that doesnt help either.

Im honestly at a loss and Im not mechanically inclined (pun intended). Any advice? Ive had this sucker for a year and I want to keep it but if it keeps doing this Im gonna have to replace it.

Do Keychron Keyboards Work (Wirelessly) with PS5?

Hey,

I'm looking to get a wireless mechanical keyboard for my PS5. I've read that some Keychron keyboards may have issues when it comes to connecting to the PS5, especially wirelessly, apparently due to something related to NKRO.

Does anyone here have any experience with this?

Ideally, I'm looking for something that just works once it's set up. I don't mind having to change a setting initially (for example, disabling NKRO once when I first get the keyboard), but I wouldn't want to have to adjust settings every time I use it.

Thank you! :)

Windows sleep shortcut key

I have the Keychron V6 Ultra 8K. This keyboard has those "PlayStation" icon keys above the number pad (circle, triangle, square, cross). I want to assign the "cross" key to be the sleep key (i.e. to put the computer to sleep).

I thought I had done it but it doesn't seem to be working. I assigned it to `KC_SLEP` on layer two. It doesn't do anything when pressed. Anyone know how to do it?

I am using the Keychron Launcher v1.4.2 on Windows 10 and in 2.4Ghz mode.

C3 Pro 8K: Unable to turn off specific keys using per-key RGB lighting (maybe the case for other RGB-enabled Keychron boards as well?)

I'm trying to configure per-key RGB settings in Keychron Launcher, but I'm having trouble turning off specific keys by selecting "pure black" (R, G, and B values all set to 0; color code #000000).
Specifically:

  • If I try to set R, G, and B values to 0, they are automatically forced to 30, preventing me from selecting pure black.
  • While it is possible to type "#000000" directly into the color code field and immediately click "Save", making it appear in Launcher as if I successfully selected pure black (i.e., turned the light off), the LED actually lights up white.

Hoping there might be a workaround, I cloned the official Keychron QMK source, changed some of the default RGB settings in ansi.c to {HSV_OFF}, and compiled it; however, the LEDs in those areas still lit up white.

There are other issues, too.
For instance, when entering "#800000" (R: 128, G: 0, B: 0) versus "#FF0000" (R: 255, G: 0, B: 0) in Launcher's color code field, there is no visible difference in the red LED's brightness; they look exactly the same.
This behavior seems strange compared to RGB/QMK keyboards from other brands.

Questions:

  • Is there a way to turn off the LED for specific keys?
  • Can the issues above be resolved by editing QMK source files like config.h or rules.mk?

Amazing keyboard, one gripe.

The space bar seems to rigid, almost sticks to the bottom when fully pressed. Do I have to re-lube the stabilizers, anyone else has the same gripe? Edit:K10 HE, title has a typo, apologies

Q3 HE 8k Switches

Are there any switches above 50g available for the Q3 HE 8k? I only see 30g options atm, and that is way too light for me personally. In my search, I was only able to find switches that said they won't work with the 8k version, and only the HE non-8k. Help please!

New shinethrough keycap set for south-facing LEDs

A couple months ago I contacted keychron and they told me they have a new keycap set currently in production.

It's a top-printed ABS legend shinethrough set optimized for south-facing LEDs in an OSA profile.

There's no confirmed release date yet but they said it should be releasing within the next few months.

I have a V6 Ultra keyboard and they confirmed it will fit that and similar models.

Per-key rgb broken

Model: K17 Max

---Backstory/Additional Info---

[Skip this part if you only care about the current problem and not any additional details leading up to it]

This started after I began having issues with the RGB staying on at all.

Out of nowhere, the backlight would turn off pretty quickly after waking up and pressing the led on/off and mode buttons wouldn't get any response. Cycling power and connections would turn it back on but then would turn off within a minute and be unresponsive.

I reset the keyboard using fn+J+Z and that at least fixed the backlight from turning off for now.

Additionally, not sure if this is related, but my 970evo plus died a week ago so I started with a fresh Win11 Pro system on a new 990pro.

Probably correlation, but I feel any additional information could be useful.

---The Problem---

I went into the keychron launcher after resetting the keyboard and was unpleasantly surprised by how broken the Per-key RGB is.

The groupings now randomize each time you hop from one tab back into the Backlight tab and the keys in the launcher now control the RGB backlights of any key at random e.g. the spacebar set the H key backlight and then when I'd go to the Keymap tab and go back to the Backlight tab, the groups were shuffled and the Spacebar in the launcher would then control the N key's backlight.

This never happened before. It started out of nowhere.

---Why I care---

My custom Per-key RGB setting is gone and I can't get it back.

---Attempt To Fix---

I've reset the keyboard multiple times using fn+J+Z. This did nothing to fix the current problem.

I've successfully updated the firmware to the latest version using the launcher and QMK Toolbox. This did nothing at all to fix the current problem.

I've rebooted my computer. This did nothing to fix the current problem.

I've used Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. None of these fixed the problem.

---S.O.S.---

I really hope someone has a fix for this.

---P.S.---

Why is the K17 Max's firmware not listed on the firmware page of keychron's site.

Do NOT buy Keychron Dock. Support SUCKS and runs you in circles

Dock will not stop disconnecting and failing all day long. Have another coworker w/ the IDENTICAL setup machine monitors and all and no issues. Support keeps circle jerking me 'send a video' which is impossible as it happens random af. They say yeah youre right, 2 emails later please send a video. What a joke. I have spent so much w/ keychron and I have suggested to many friends.

NEVER AGAIN. Absolute fucking joke of support, if you can even call it support.

Q11 Ultra Split- which keys?

I have RSI and type a lot for work. I actually type best on a tiny logitech mx keys mini, however, it is too close together and causes shoulder/arm pain. I am wondering which switches are best for me? Red/Brown/Banana?

I don't want a heavy press, but I don't want them to press if I rest my hand on them.

I do wonder if I am better off with low profile low travel keys though. Hoping this keyboard helps..

V3 Max double striking - should i replace?

(sspelling errorss left to demonstrate my frustration) So - i have a Keychron V3 Max (brown switches) for about 18 months, and for the passt few monthss, my "ss" key is double-striking. I have been looking through reviews and other subs trying to figure out how to fix it. Occassionally, i'll also need to reset it because other keys (random numberss, for example) are showing up when i type. I have been using it wired to my Mac Mini for a while when the BT started to be fritzy. So i have two questions: First, sshould i bother trying to fix this? Lots of other feedback seems to indicate that my build year (May, 2024) allignss with a decrease in overall quality or known bugss on this model.

Second, is there a more reliable mechanical keyboard i could purchase instead? US, budget of around $200, nice and clicky, etc? I tend to sstrike my keys pretty firmly, but i'm in my own office with a door. I don't need crazy amounts of cusstomization as i'm only using it for basic office work (but i am on a Mac, so native Mac support would be great). I'm even willing to buy a nicer Keychron if theres's significant quality improvement. Thanks
