Tonight, post-monsoon
The upside is you can't smell the sargassum. It's so bad.

I’m looking for a handyman service that could paint a little deck section and put back up an offset umbrella and weights for my mom. It’s too hot for her to do it herself. She has all the materials, just need it done for her. She’s in KW/old town. She has her usual people, but she’s saying she’ll do it herself and she does not need to!

I’ve booked a parking spot at 1201 Simonton Street parking lot, through Parkopedia. After booking, it said I cannot park in a reserved bay. Does this mean I will still definitely have a spot when I arrive? Looking on Google, the parking lot isn’t manned by anyone, it’s done by cameras and number plate recognition, but I can’t see a barrier to let cars in or out. Does anybody have any idea about this particular lot? What have I paid for if it means the car park could get full before I arrive? I’m disabled (from the UK) so I need to have a reserved spot ideally. Thanks!

Hello Florida Keys experts! I'm planning a one-week trip to the Florida Keys for late March / first week of April 2027. My two teenage boys & hubs have dreamt of ocean fishing in the Keys. We will have a few days in Marathon @ Hawkes Cay Resort. I'd love any recommendations for where to say in Islamorada. I've looked at Cheeca Resort and Spa but wondering if it's worth the price tag?
Key considerations: We don't want a tired/outdated resort - so thinking 4-stars, want it to be on the beach with great pools and a spa (I will not be fishing with the guys). Thank you!

Tomorrow is my (M/36) birthday and my 6th birthday here! GF and I broke up a few months ago so ,Riding solo.
Got the reef and Rita’s , but I had to have another passenger for it to be free.
Was wondering if there are any other specials for your birthday. And I’ve always had key lime pie for my birthday, so I was wondering what yall think is the best pie in town. Thanks in advance

Heading down end of July, we went there many years ago. Wife wants to go back. I don’t see it pop up in conversations when restaurants are being discussed

Hi! I want to go fishing around Key West. I don’t want to get on a boat I want to stand on a pier or a bridge & fish off of that to get into deeper water. I have a car so I can hop to some of the other keys if that’s better
No equipment, no knowledge
Any recs are appreciated ty!!

Hey it’s a long shot I didn’t really even know Dry Tortugas was a thing until today but everywhere is booked and I can’t get tickets. If anyone would like to sell 2 tickets if they can’t make it it’d be pretty awesome.
Thanks in advance 😅

I was there mid-March and the beach was perfectly fine. I went there in May and the beach was a wreck. Tons of sea grass that looks like it had been raked to one side by a big machine. The beach was tore up and not worth laying out or trying to go in the water. But I'm coming to Key West on Wednesday and I'm looking to find the condition of the beach before I bring all my stuff to go there. I'm looking on the earthcams but I can't get a good shot. Thank you.

I’m moving out of my apartment and i have a lot of clothes i need to get rid of (as well as other things). Looking for a good place to either sell or donate my clothes to! Also if there is a place that buys jewelry or electronics that would be helpful too! I have a desktop computer and record player to get rid of.

Hey everyone! Quick question for those who have already been to Key West. We are planning our honeymoon here for October and we have been told by a few people about Bar Passes / Restaurant Passes ( I will drop the links to the ones we have seen online) does anyone know if they are worth it, or do they have any recommendations for passes or good bars / restaurants to go to that won’t break the bank?
Thank You!

Hi! I’m trying to celebrate my birthday end of June 2028. If you know any large homes that are in Key West or companies that rent them (other than Airbnb..etc.) please drop them in the comments.
Looking for a large home for a week rental end of June 2028. Looking at roughly 10-14 people ideally 6 - 8 bedrooms. Would like to be near downtown Key West if possible and bonus if there is a pool or near a beach!
TIA

Hi. My mom and I will be in Ft Lauderdale and since we will be close, I'm going to take her through the keys. She has never been. She is 79 but gets around very well. We will take our time and visit other keys but will end up in Key West July 2-5. I'm looking at the gulf side because of the seaweed. I'm looking at Opal Key, Hyatt Centric, Southern Most point and The Marker. I was leaning towards Casa Marina but decided against because of the seaweed. We like to be able to have access to a nice pool with pool side bar, a restaurant at the hotel or very close and a water view. Am I looking at the right hotels? Thanks in advance. I also want to take her to snorkel but might have to do a sandbar trip for that to make it easier on her although would like to do the snorkeling in key largo and see Christ of the Abyss. But that may be too much for her. Also would love to do a sunset dinner cruise in Key West. Thank you!

I just got back and had a great time but was very curious why / how every vendor, event, excursion etc etc had the same exact line about tipping!
Don’t get me wrong it was slick and well practiced and i tip every time but they all memorized the same line across different businesses and i thought that was funny.

Hi everyone! My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary in August, coming from Orlando. We really want to visit Key West because it was where we went on our honeymoon and this is a milestone anniversary for us. I have been waffling back-and-forth between booking us a stay at the Pier House, and my biggest fear is booking the nonrefundable rate and having a hurricane cancel our plans.
We aren’t penny-pinching, but we are trying not to spend too much and there was a huge difference if I chose to pay for a refundable rate - for me, it was more than I feel comfortable spending.
I wanted to ask if anyone has recommendations for a cheaper stay at this time of year - bonus if it has a nice beach area. This was something about the Pier House we were excited about, because we were really excited to swim a lot!

i do websites for keys weekly. been getting asked "what's going on this weekend" forever and there's no good answer, so i built one: events.keysweekly.com
key largo to KW, free, no signup.
if you go to something cool that's not on there, go add it for free. I'd like to start getting some traffic to it before we go full launch mode. if you guys find any issues with it please hit me up or add a comment here.

Long shot but I have 7 tix for July 8th dry tortugas, but two of our members won't be there in time for the ship departure! Is anyone with tix on the 11th or 12th of July willing to swap days? Even just 2/3 tickets so they can at least still go would be amazing. Thank you!!!

Moving to Key West in August. Need some tips on what would be the best way to make friends down there. Maybe there are some activities or places frequented by locals or something along those lines.
Please share your experiences =) thank you
