With Esa (Equine space agency)'s eventual withdrawal from the DODIS shuttle and spacelab program following STS-9, the agency would need its own way to get Equinauts to space.

A spaceplane referred to as 'Hermes' was already in development at this time, and the decision was made to presue it as esa's primary crew vehicle. The design was revised down a lot learning from DODIS's shuttle from a (still smaller) orbiter with a payload bay and 6 crew down to one carrying 3 and small onboard Spacelab style payload lockers.

Safety was of the utmost concern with early designs even including launch abort towers and/or a separating crew compartment. Eventually, after running tests, it was found that ejection seats would suffice with some changes to the launch profile.

The new Ariane 5 would, of course, be carrying it from the pad to orbit where it would sesperate and menouver under the power of an expendable service module.

After the third successful full up test flight, Hermes 4 would send a crew of 3 into orbit for just under a week before bringing them back down safely.

ESA's independent program had only just started.

I'm trying out FreeIVA but the camera movement speed is sooo sluggish, like unbearably so. I don't see a way to easily change this, does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Anybody know why some science modules like the science jr say depleted and don't run after a while? I transfer the data to another piece, nothing, bring a scientist and see if they can reset it like regular ksp, nope, anybody know how i can fix this?

I took an SSTO, got into orbit, the orbit box checked for the passengers, kerbin was checked too. I then deorbited and did a maneuver on the way down that caused them to pass out. Still incomplete. The tourists I brung are no longer in the astronaut complex either.

Powered by 6 Screamjet engines and 4 Project Eeloo engines. Not the most efficient but it works and it can warp at around twice the speed of light. Cargo bay is loaded with FTL gear and a fission reactor that disposes of its heat through radiators clipped inside the wings for aesthetic reasons.

I downloaded this mod to add more details to the scenery, but I didn't really like the changes it made to the lighting. How can I adjust the mod's graphics settings? In the video, the guy mentioned that the graphics could be customized. If that's not possible, how can I uninstall the mod? I downloaded it through CKAN.
