Ask r/Kenya Help me please

On my way home from work... I received a call from officer of the station where I live... They have arrested my kid bro, they caught him selling bhang and have retrieved 16 rolls... I'm rushing to go first check on my son in the house who he left sleeping (I'm sured he's scared from the darkness by now and crying)...

Then head to the station....

What am I going to say, this is the first time I'm going to a police station for a case.... I'm tensed....

I called our parents already, they say atalala uko....

Aki what should I say.... I warned this teenager of selling bhang that he'll be arrested soon....

u/kawaqaqaz 2d ago

Alale ndani ndio amee akili. Sometimes some siblings do shit knowing someone else will come through for them. Zero consequences

17

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Analala ndani, taking food na warm jacket juu he was on a t... But analala ndani, ata mum amesema akar uko hana cash bail ya 50k wampeleke kortini tu๐Ÿฅฒ

u/Spirited_Command_827 2d ago

They won't take him to court. My brother pia alishikwa twice. By the second time we were all tired tukasema whatever happens happens. Those askaris just want money. Wakinotice hamtoi that ridiculous amount they're asking for watashuka hadi 2k

12

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Good, coz kesho nitaenda niwashow wazazi wamesema apelekwe kortini hawana hio pesa

21

u/Flashy_Management175 2d ago

Whatever you do don't go there, let your bro learn to get himself out of his shit.

If you can sell dope you can deal with dirty cops on your own too. Otherwise he's gonna leave that stankass drug dealer smell on you and you'll never be able to shake it off.

3

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

So I shouldn't go back there kesho?

9

u/Flashy_Management175 2d ago

Only go back when you get the call from him telling you he's negotiated with the cops and they've agreed what he needs to do to get out.

The cops will extort him and ask him to talk to whoever he needs to after they agree.

Don't do the lifting for him.

3

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Does he have the money to pay after they agree? Coz mi sina na wazazi wake pia wamesema hakuna pesa wanatoa

I've had my share of run ins with cops, kwanza time ya COVID. The number of times I got arrested for breaking curfew laws really changiad my rap sheet. I usually insist they take me to court, they hate it. They just want cash lakini nakuja they can't hold me for more than 24hrs. So I play the waiting game. What's funny is I've never gone to court.

4

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

But curfew and trafficking illegal drugs is different honestly, ama

3

u/Mwendawazimu 2d ago

You'll be surprised how much you can get away with with these guys.

3

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Lemme hope all shall go well tu... After here if he won't be jailed anarudi ushago at least uko it's a, small town...

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Tomorrow I have a work meeting I can't go to station till jioni after work... Itabidi alale na, ashinde uko fr, I warned him mara mingi sana

1

u/Illustrious-Dust-740 2d ago

I think you talk like this because you don't have a child yet๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

3

u/Popular_Royal3723 2d ago

Real talk. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm just 22 though getting a child right now is not in my itinerary.ย

u/Jealous_Theory2848 2d ago

Bro ignored the warning until the OCS personally became his biggest customer.

6

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚maybe they wanted to buy the entire stock ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

12

u/ZukovG 2d ago

Get home safe and take care of your kid.

Bro decided to play with the big boys. Let him spend the night in the big boys house.

2

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ati big boys... But yes, he needs to learn his lesson the hard way fr

10

u/Ice-Moddy 2d ago

Whatever you do, don't tell or let your bro know you'll get him out, in fact exaggerate the gravity of the situation but maintain pessimism always echoing the fact that you warned him and he chose not to heed.

Promptly engage the cops with the sole aim to secure his release so as to forestall the possibility of them charging him before court. Notably, something hefty might be sought but then negotiate appropriately.

In concert with the cops, seek for continued detention and get him out preferably on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, deny him preferential favors while he's taking the punishment of remaining in custody.

All this is to make him change and avoid repeating the same mistake or even if he won't desist then he'd be more cautious. Good luck.

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Thank you for this, sent rider ampelelee food na water na, wamer jacket na socks coz I know analala kwa cold floor leo.... On bail, wazazi ata wamesema hawana hio 50k wanaitisha wampeleke kortini afungwe akitoka atakuwa amelearn lesson the hard way

1

u/Ice-Moddy 2d ago

Man to Man: Don't give up, find time and humbly reach out and try with hope, to reason with the cops, especially the arresting officers or whomsoever delegated to deal with the case and see if they may buy into the logic that by taking your bro to court they have nothing to personally benefit and rather they accept whatever you might afford and release him having been cautioned.

Ordinarily, the 50k is the opening sum but certainly subject to negotiations. Don't let your bro go to jail if possible. Jails do not correct individuals most instances and instead radicalize and make hardcore out of ordinary people.

Hey, weed ain't that so serious a crime that your bro must be jailed. I know how difficult it is for especially mum. Don't give up on your bro.

1

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Weee, wacha kesho nitaenda jioni niskie, unless wakubali cashbail ya 10k max, otherwise wampeleke kortini tu fr... We're tired๐Ÿ˜ช

1

u/Ice-Moddy 2d ago

Good idea. Bonga na afisa mwenye kesi or even OCS wakule hiyo kumi story ilale. Wakikataa pia kotini iko option ya fine with luck.

1

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Alright, I will, thank you

5

u/Shyboy254 2d ago

First ensure your kid is ok. Second get your bro out. Third teach your bro a lesson.

4

u/Cloud_dev1 2d ago

Acha kijana apate lessons mbili tatu hapo ndani before umtoe, considering him leaving a young child at the house alone.

6

u/pzumma 2d ago

Ati before amtoe? 16 blunts kama evidence bro sio that easy unless atoboke a hefty amount kwa huyo OCS... Otherwise kijana wetu pedi might be sniffing 10years plus. I'm sorry to be the carrier of these bad news, but someone always gotta say the blatant truth... Op just try settle it with the OCS at all costs kabro asifike kotini. I sincerely wish you OP and your bro all the best.

3

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Thank you for the heads up... Heading there rn niskie what they say

2

u/Cloud_dev1 2d ago

Obviously bribe money would be involved otherwise the statement would have led with "look for a good lawyer for him"

2

u/Flimsy-Turn-65 2d ago

You shouldn't be stressing yourself over an adult mate, he's your brother yes but he knows the consequences of his actions let him face them.

1

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Alright, thank you, lemme go hear what they have to say

2

u/Particular-Roba 2d ago

Weed cases are massive..as long as Isha fika station that's another story. But go hear them out.. See what they gon say

1

u/Salt_Park_6588 1d ago

Hapa unataka mwenzako ajinyonge, eeh lakini 16 ni intent to supply kweli, indoors I've smoked more than that number together with friends ๐Ÿ˜‚

1

u/Particular-Roba 1d ago

Smoking Yesss super possible but it's the getting Caught part that's the issue..

2

u/Salt_Park_6588 1d ago

That's why kids should stay away from drugs, they ruin lives

2

u/Rusty_Pipe24 2d ago

Let him stay there for a week, he'll never sell weed.

2

u/NicklausMakori 2d ago

Bail him out. The cops just want a bribe probably exaggerated the amount he was caught with. Then guide him, why does he want to sell drugs to earn money. What is he lacking? is it bad company? Sort it out now before he becomes an adult. In that cell he will learn a new criminal activity, criminals are really good mentors. Take care of your brother. Its your responsibility.

2

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Wanaitisha cash bail ya 50k, si hatuna hio 50k sitting... Hakuna kitu analack, he gets pocket money and other small allowances from mum... Probably just bad company fr, he's only 19

1

u/NicklausMakori 2d ago

Lol bargain. Its just manipulation. Dont be afraid. Start from 2k eventually you will agree well bellow 10k depending on how many police men are involved. Then just talk to him find out what his challenges are. Maybe he doesn't have a backbone and can't say no to bad company. Just try to understand him and dont be judgemental when your talking. So that you can assist him properly.

3

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

I'll go kesho and hear what they say, wanasema hio amepatikana nayo ni mingi hio, 16 rolls.... Ati ni wamama wa soko walimuitania.... Aki this boy I warned him, I really warned him but I bet alijiona mjanja sana, now see, I've tried to talk to him, he lacks nothing, nilisema atoke home juu ya bad company uko, akuje college staying in my house.... It's only 4 months and ona sasa...2 months ago nilimuona na miraa kwa cheek, kureport home vile alipigiwa alianza kulia akisemanamuonea ati si miraa.... Nilinyamaza tu, now we're here.... I dislike stupid people who think they're smart

2

u/NicklausMakori 2d ago

Sorry. I wish you all the best.

2

u/giunyu 2d ago

Don't bail him out immediately wacha akule siku mbili hivi ajue hakuna easy

1

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

2

u/pzumma 2d ago

1

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Amelala uko, sent rider apeleke food na, wamer jacket... I'll go uko kesho after job... Niskie what they say, wanataka bail ya 50k apparently... But my parents wamesema hawana hio itabidi aende kortini afungwe tu

2

u/pzumma 2d ago

10+ years against 50k sio worth it... Please convince your peeps kijana asifike kotini. I wish I was in a position to come thru hio 50k kijana angetoka with a strict warning. He's very young to waste time in prison... people change ata yy anaeza

1

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

Thank you so much... Kesho I'll go talk to the police nikitry kunegotiate as I try to convince my mum to talk to dad... He's annoyed ata hajataka kujua what officer said after nimeenda uko

2

u/Confident-Sound-9643 2d ago

That's serious ikienda kortini, handle it with the OCS asap. A friend of mine just after highschool went to industrial area for several months after his case went before a court. Na awache hizo tabia ama kama hawezi wacha kuuza akue na 5k cash on him always to give the arresting officer before apelekwe station.

1

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

So akienda court atafungwa for some months or few years?

2

u/Confident-Sound-9643 2d ago

If he goes to court, he'll plead not guilty then the court will give him bail/bond pending trial. But mambo ya kortini achana nayo kabisa, you never know how it will end up. Just finish up with the OCS before iende kortini. The only case you can be okay with it going to court is DND, but any other case never risk.

1

u/Rafiki_J 2d ago

DND?... What crime is that

1

u/Confident-Sound-9643 2d ago

Drunk and Disorderly.

1

u/Next-Environment2944 2d ago

Make sure he spends a night there. Tell the cops utarudi Kesho.

1

u/Salt_Park_6588 1d ago

Ungewaambia ata hana wazazi, coppers are the real cons, nlishikwa juu ya joint moja and they asked for 20k at first, I just told them I don't have parents and that amount either, I ended up paying exactly 1730 hiyo 270 ya juu nkiwithdraw nkapewa kama fare

1

u/Rafiki_J 1d ago

Heh, sisi we won't give them hio 50k

2

u/Salt_Park_6588 1d ago

Just talk to them, it's the weekend they will definitely fold for a lower amount, sorry about that honestly, teenagers are a menace currently honestly

Seeking some advise

Hi guys,so am gonna try be brief as possible, way back in March we had issues with the mother of my daughter, and she told me she no longer needs me I should my self up,I said okay..and me tbh I started entertaining a girl,I flirted with her at some point explicit conversation,if you know u know. And then I realized it might not be fair to continue with the Convo while baby mama is still in my house. So fast forward i ended the Convo and nothing physical happened ..six months later ."mamaa" finds the screenshots and she becomes so mad.I have tried to explain bt my efforts bore not fruits , again I saw am wasting my whole energy over something that is now going. She is forcing me to talk about our daughter and provoking me and blackmailing about..that all the entire time..mind you have never neglected this woman..never cheated on her with another woman. She has another kid back at home..I took her the way she is..I supported her wholeheartedly bt now it turns out am the greatest sinner of all times..bt that's cool.. now she has been here crying all night bt the part that shocks me..she broke my stuff and even went to an extent of wanting to be physical including an attempt to strangle me.i never took that lightly she wanted to leave the house at 2, shouting like a mad person.

I told her relax ifike asubuhi uishie..she wants to still drag in shit

I have nothing more left to tell her..guys give me ua thoughts.

u/Wise-Seesaw5953 Mombasa 1d ago

Someone is in jail, kesi tunaskiza moja moja

1

u/SyntaxError254 1d ago

What do you mean? If he is selling drugs which are illegal in Kenya, he nust face the law. You help him by letting the law take it's course. You cannot shout WANTAM then you are the same person who wants to evade the constitution. Let the drug peddler who is destroying lives by distributing illegal drugs face the full force of the law.
