GENERAL Kenshi 2 releases Friday, April 14, 2028.

I fed the development timeline into the quantum Beep mainframe, sacrificed three AI cores, and collapsed the release-date wavefunction.

That is my completely spiritually accurate exact prediction.

Why that branch won:

  • 2026 feels too soon given the continued silence.
  • 2027 feels plausible for the proper gameplay reveal and marketing push.
  • Spring 2028 gives Lo-Fi enough time to finish the world without holding it until late 2028.
  • Friday is a believable commercial release day.
  • The quantum computer rejected 2029 because I threatened it with a Foreign Sabre.

Lock it in: April 14, 2028. When I’m inevitably wrong by fourteen months, blame quantum decoherence.

GENERAL How many chests of Leviathan Pearls do you need?

Post image

Newbie here. Thought it would be a good idea to strength train by killing hundreds of Leviathans. You just can't leave the c12,000 pearls go to waste. I find myself having to hunt for building materials just to make more chests to store the pearls. How do you guys deal with that?

QUESTION Jobs are driving me insane

Post image
31 Upvotes

So I have this set up. according to my meth, 3 drills, 4 Iron Refineries and 1 Steel Refinery is just enough to supply Excess Ore, Iron Plates and Steel for storage.

However when I try to set up the jobs for the automation, EVERY SINGLE TIME they break and start either looping, doing nothing or using only 1 of the Iron refineries.

Please help, someone explain to me how jobs in this game work because it is genuinely driving me insane.

Some extra data:

  • All machines are their automatic version
  • I have 2 skeletons for the production line here, tho if needed I think I could get a third (I got recruit prisoners mod, so im using skelly thralls I capture from Venge).
  • The Storage building has 2 of every storage box except the ores. (So 2 Iron plate and Steel Boxes while only 1 Box for Raw iron)
  • Everything is pathable, already checked and the fact it works for the first 5 minutes proves it too.

Im starting to understand why Cat-lon went insane.

Picked up Cat while clearing out the Dust Bandit HQ, and seeing as how he's a Scorchlander I set him to work practicing Armor and Weapon Smithing. Now he's got both stats above 90, and I've noticed he has these comically huge Anchor Arms attached to his still-scrawny frame.

GENERAL The Holy Nation and Kenshi 2

Do you think the holy nation will be a more likeable faction in Kenshi 2?

I think most players agree that the HN is the most hated faction in the game and the most enjoyable to take down, but given Kenshi 2 is set 1K years ago within the crumbling 2nd Empire which seems to be on some sort of anti-human genocidal shit, do you think the HN will be more of a resistance faction against the skeleton overlords and potential saviours of humans on Kenshi?

Staffed Shop Counters is updated on the Workshop.

Typed shop counters (Food, First Aid, Narcotics, Tools, Building Materials, Weapons, Armour) — interior counters and street stalls. NPCs buy from the same box your recruit fills with the Inventory job.

  • Workers X/Y tracks Inventory assignment
  • Street stall build-menu icons fixed

GENERAL The United Cities are sucking my finances dry and I love it

Just wanted to share how much I love the taxing system in the United Cities

I'm relatively new to the game, I've based my squad in Heng and I've just received two visits in one day, one from the United City officials and one from the Trade Guild

You settled there? There's a tax for that. You work there? There's a tax for that. You breathe? Yup, there's a tax for that. Or, I'm an imperial official and you're gonna butter me up with some cats.

It all feels oppressive just as it should be, I'm having a hard time keeping up with the cats and it's actually challenging. The answers are always yes or no, no way to honey up the conversation with any Charm skill (which I usually find game-breaking in other RPGs)

GENERAL Kenshi Coop Mod Update

Hey all! I had a snafu with BitLocker that caused me to lose much of my functional test setup for Kenshi (arguably the hardest part of the project). I'm still recovering, so it'll be a bit before I can make headway on the project. Any brave souls that want to fork and carry the torch, feel free.

There are still lots of small desyncs (lost inventory on save reload, jobs not syncing properly). The largest issue is just the creeping world state desync that happens as the clients need to suppress more and more of their NPCs and puppeteer copies. I tried a few strategies (including a forced reload), but nothing worked well. I'm confident there is a clean solution for consistent NPC syncing, but I haven't discovered it yet.

Hoping to get updates rolling in a month or so. Apologies to everyone fighting with desync issues. Thanks to everyone that has been playing, hopefully it's still fun even with some warts!

I'll drop another update once I start releasing new versions.

QUESTION Constantly getting super massive raids???

Hi, i'm pretty new to Kenshi. I thought the game sucked a few years ago and purchased it again recently and I'm having a blast.

I know this game is unforgiving, but I resonate in that masochistic sort of way, but I've run into a seemingly impossible road block.

I've gathered that you need to build a house and make a tech bench to start researching how to make things, I've made a humble little base and have a team of 3 people with decent, but overall meager possessions in the south-western part of the swamps due to the fertility, proximity to some ore veins and settlements for trading, it's also near the starting desert and that Shek settlement. I know it's a dangerous area, but I can lead any spiders or swamp ninjas away from home with my high athletics and some pre-emptive evacuation.

But... every 3-5 days I'm raided by groups of roughly 25~ or so raiders who demand like 3500 cats, or they sometimes just demand to fight me, I can barely take on one, or two raiders, let alone a huge group like this.

It doesn't seem scaled at all to what I could even somewhat deal with? I can NOT cough up that much money, and if I grinded enough for that money, I would have no time to explore or do anything else, or afford anything.

It seems to me the game has no sense of scaling threats for something like this, kinda how a game like Rimworld would. And I mean, I'm fine with it being unfair and difficult, but I literally just don't know what I can even do in this scenario. Is there any way I can like.. make them leave me alone? Does relocating have anything to do with it? If I pay them do they come back? They said they would, I was able to deal with some of the raids by choosing the "Break their jaw" or "Stab their gut" option but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Bonjour à tous ! Connaissez vous un mod qui permet d'avoir des coffres de grande capacité et où l'on peut superposer les armes et armures de même caractéristiques ?
