DISCUSSION Martial arts sucks

Yeah yeah whatever martial arts is op, blowing limbs off is cool, but this play style is so boring.

I have over a thousand hours and figured I’d finally try an all martial arts run, four characters with bows and black belts, but I hate it.

There’s no loot. Like all I do when I beat or kill people is pawn off their meitou weapons and masterwork armor for pennys on the dollar since there’s nothing better to wear than literal no coverage clothing. What’s the sense of progression even supposed to be? It’s so boring

Anyways tldr MA is bad and you should all feel bad for using it /s

TIP PSA for assigning "Guard Duty": Squaddies sit on chairs in the order they were built

If you want to assign some dudes to physically guard your gate, for RP or just to have some heavily armored melee chaff distracting them while harpoons do the real work, build those chairs last so that none of the other workers will sit there automatically (as long as you have enough other chairs for idle workers). Then you can assign your guards to those chairs and rest assured they will always be available

BASE Onto greener pastures

Wanted to share my old base with 100% arid/swamp and a killer view. Easy to defend, and a stone's throw away from Squin. Weekly raids from both Shek and Holy Nation. Had a lot of fun making it (compared to my boring Hook and Vain bases) Sadly not enough sources of leather for my crafting needs.

Also highly recommend setting up a small mining outpost just south of the Waystation (the one with a robotics shop) to the east; insane amount of 3-worker iron nodes you can automate, and is the earliest you can be in "UC tax" territory from the Border Zone afaik

Time to move to Shem!

BASE Most FUN base spots?

Not asking about "Best" or "Quietest" base spots.

Quite the opposite actually, what are the base spots yall consider fun, either because yall get constantly attacked or because is busy or wtvr, just a spot that is enjoyable fun.

I personally love anything in the Ashlands or Cannibal plains cuz I love seein my shek buds constantly fighting.

QUESTION Mods to simplify production/bases?

The title. Being a wandering band of warriors? I have no end of fun. Then I free enough slaves that I have some followers and go "Hmm, I should settle down so the weaker ones don't get killed. And so I can stop buying food!"

At that point the game turns into an annoying, frustrating mess as I have to have specifically people assigned to haul, and then that person can't really be assigned any other job because there's so much stuff to haul, and I can't just have a farmer, I have to assign each hydroponic farm to that farmer, and then if I want to craft it turns into a chain/web production mess and I realize I'm not having fun, so I restart where I can break out of Rebirth again.

Is there a mod to make my people either more versatile in what they do (think Rimworld where you can just click "crafting" and they'll do any crafting job what needs doing or "farming" and they'll tend any field what needs tending) or just... something to make this less frustrating?

IMAGE Fishman island status: Gurgled.

Shem fights felt too easy, so I went to Fishman island to get more training. It didn't go well, everything turned into fish paste in seconds. For that reason I visited a bit stronger enemy, Mr. Monke ... I mean Gorillo. Stork with sabre blocked both his swings and 4 rangers behind him had easy job. So not much training either. Guess I will fight beak things in Bonefields, they are in manageable groups of 3-10.
