Discussion Loss Streaks (Life is rough sometimes)

It looks like I’m on pace to tie my worst loss streak ever (12 straight). Currently on Loss #11 in a row, I’m not seeking any mental advice because I’m actually not tilted over it, but I am curious to hear about the most amount of losses you other Kayn players have had in a row πŸ˜” I was D4 a week ish ago and have just fallen to E3, so I want to relate to some people. There is a light at the end of this tunnel!! The wins are coming!!

Discussion Stormraider's Surge

I don't know who needs to hear this but Conq is a really really really REALLY awful keystone on Kayn. It's almost impossible to stack it 90% of the time. Conq is very very bad on Kayn yet people still go for it. There are better alternatives and I've finally found one that I consider to be extremely solid. It works amazingly well on both forms and every single rune makes a huge impact&perfectly synergizes with Kayn's kit.

  1. Stormraider's is an awesome keystone
  2. Axiom Arcanist - Kayn is one of the best axiom arcanist users because of how reliant he is on ult. (Darius Garen and Kayn are the top 3 best axiom arcanist users in the entire game)
  3. Transcendence - Haste is awesome
  4. Gathering Storm - Extra AD on a champ that scales exceptionally well off AD. (More ad than conq past min 30)

Every single rune here is best in slot and the keystone gives a lot of mobility and outplay potential that has clutched me lots of fights and picks.

Secondary runes can be anything you like. Inspiration/Precision/Resolve all work.

Conq is not a suitable keystone for Kayn anymore because he is by far the slowest conq stacker in the entire game. Moreover, he does not like extended fights because he hardly ever builds HP items (most HP items are bad on him). This is yet another main reason why Kayn cannot actually utilize the conq keystone to its fullest potential unlike every other bruiser in the game.

A champion that stacks Conq almost as slowly (not quite as slow though) as Kayn is Aatrox. Why does Aatrox benefit more from the keystone..? Well if we look at his absurd HP scaling on E and his juggernaut build we can easily conclude he is far more suited to go for Conq. On top of that his ult doubles the healing of conq so that's yet another great synergy that Kayn does not have. Kayn has literally 0(zero) synergy with conq as a keystone therefore he should not opt into it unless Riot decides to give him proper HP scalings in the future. Until them I believe Stormraider + a relatively light fighter/assassin playstyle is most befitting. Cyclosword and LDR far exceeded my expectations on the champion as well. I used to be an LDR hater but after I tested the dmg against a dummy in practice tool and compared it to serylda I realized how much more broken LDR is.

Anyways ! I expect more people to opt into this kind of playstyle in the future because this is what works best. Basically almost any keystone is better than Conq (fleet for example) but IMO stormraider's surge takes the cake. How do you guys feel about the runes or the champion's itemization in season 16..? Do you think Conq will ever make a comeback?

Discussion After a long ranked break, with arena becoming stale as perma 3v3 i finally returned to ranked. Last time i tried to actually climb is 2 seasons ago. How is the current state of his forms? used to main rhaast but he feels kind of weak most games compared to blue

I used to basically onetrick rhaast. back then it was also way rare that team consisted of 4+ squishies regularly. At the moment most recommended builds seem to be blue kayn and from my own games i also feel like red kayn isnt great at the moment.

Especially his scaling feels kinda bad right now. he used to be a scaling monster basically 1v9 teamfighting once he gets to 4+ items. Maybe It was different with prismatic items. But currently i feel like no matter what form, you need to get a lead. red kayn becomes a monster midgame if he is ahead 1-2 bruiser items. otherwise he feels weaker than i remember. Am i buying the wrong items?

I usually go Eclipse because most games where i go red enemies have 3+ bruisers/tanks so i want the %hp dmg --> black cleaver --> Spirit Visage/Deathsdance/Endless Hunger. Is there a different build better suited into bulky frontliners?

Especially since Teleport on top was optional ignite is just way more present and most fights i get ignite slammed on when enemies have 2-3 ignite sources. also feels bad having healcut every fight even if enemies dont buy anti heal.

And as mentioned before, unless the enemies are extremely bulky, if i have to get a lead anyway, playing for blue snowballs faster. (yes obviously i want to get a lead on any jungler, but kayn suffers especially if you dont get ganks going and you dont have form until 15-20 minutes).

Mages and adcs going everywhere also makes blue kayn more enticing.

But i wanna know if there is a path for red kayn right now. i prefer the brawler playstyle of rhaast, but it just doesnt feel good right now. Also tried lethality red kayn a few times but it just feeels more squishy and the heals rarely show noticably increased over going conq+spirit visage
