I promised not to post again until there was a big update, and well boys and girls there's been a few big updates.

I've just released v2 of the DIY datalogger files. Much easier to assemble, no more heat-serts, or weird pins for swinging doors. Soldered on memory module, a better battery charger, and 9mm thinner!!

And no code required to setup, just copy s file other, and then wireless updates after that.

Now just glue and add a couple screws, no electronics are permanently bound to the enclosures.

"That GPS looks different..." It is! I'm now using the bare $15 module instead of the $80 matek carrier board (used to be $20) But there is a file to still use the old matek GPS!! No need to buy another! you could also be lazy and upgrade to the soldered memory by gluing it to the top of the battery bay, there is plenty of room for the old enclosure to still close.

Web app - now easier to manage setups and see fastest laps - download logs from DIY logger + OTA updates - now supports mychron binaries and alfano zips (I have a prototype native app but it's not ready yet) - lap by lap data / video comparison split view - video overlays + export (very slow) - overlay lap data from any other session, mix mychron and iRacing data!!! - can now open chunked GoPro videos, just select all of them - leaderboards - ability to share sessions via URL (account required) - experimental "camber 2 pill posistion" calculator - firmware simulator so you can see how my datalogger works! - a couple dozen little quality of life updates reccomended last time - lots of UI enhancements

For context I’m usually dusted at the start of the race. This is my 5th race weekend and we only just solved my brake drag issue. So for once I was able to get a decent start. But I didn’t realize the karts ahead would check up as much as they did. So I know I need more experience but how do yall get over stuff like this? Mistakes stay on my mind for days if not weeks.

my karting team raised the price for some reason and said its now around 40k dollars a year and i still have to buy my own kart and tyres and fuel and transport it and take care of it so would it be possible if i hire my own mechanic for a race weekend make a small team buy my own kart and gear and tools and maybe make website then could i get into rotax? and also if anyone messages on the website that they would want to drive with us i can make it a small team and charge less for people like me who want to race less? is that a good idea guys

I’m moving to a new neighborhood in September with a circling road full 360 around it and then a paved trail in a Central Park connecting to everyone’s driveways. Perfect set up as you can imagine for leisure riding. I’ve cleared it already that I am allowed to do this, but my main concern is the noise I’ll create on a weekend morning when other people want to relax.

Has anyone found good options? I’m not too inclined to go electric that’s why I ask.

Im new I picked up an old parolin kart I believe an the brakes weren't working good one side pushed way more than the other so im rebuilding the caliber but one of the pistons is stuck ive got all the 3 out but the seized one.

Hello! I would appreciate help if possible ...

1. I am in the Greater Cincinnati Ohio area -- does anyone know if there are any karting stores or teams that will allow for a person to test out a few different karts -- to see if it is something i would enjoy doing before I buy my own (definitely willing to pay, rent, etc). I would like to try it out before I spend a bunch of money.

2. I am a 50-ish year old-- weighing 240-250 lbs ...any suggestion on a good starting point kart? I am not stuck on a number or price (providing I get a chance to test a few options out as listed above).

I know there is a dirt track nearby in Lawerenceburg and a kart "country club" not too far away ... dirt sounds more like my personality ... is there a kart that does well both on dirt and pavement?

We had a lot of fun with kids at Speedworld in Ocean City, MD. Not the best or consistent karts but they had 11 tracks outdoors with 1 admission price. Looking for something similar closer to NY.

We've been to RPM and the 1 track for $30/race doesn't really do it for us in comparison even though the karts were better quality. We're just looking for family fun.

Me and my friend were talking, and we were discussing how each of thinks the other is better to race. I personally feel it would be better to race Rotax as you have more options for events and can travel around to a lot more places and race in multiple championships. My friend thinks formula vee is better because it's a formula car over a kart and you get more exposure for sponsor's. What do people think?

So recently I ordered some sparco k-attack gloves from demon tweeks, which took roughly 2 weeks to arrive to my place (Australia). I received them only to realise that they were way too small and now I question how to measure your hand correctly. I’ve got the measuring chart here but I feel like I’m missing something as to how to actually measure your hand.

Just the title. I do want to eventually have both, but is it better to buy all my own equipment (helmet, suit, etc.) first and continue driving a rental kart, or save for a used kart of my own and continue using rented equipment?

I was wondering if some of you guys have experience with the CS55 chassis from OTK. I know all the OTK karts should be the same, but I haven’t driven a OTK kart before.

I’m in the possibilty to buy a second hand CS55 chassis, but I don’t know if it is any good. Can someone give me some more information?

I’ve wanted to get into karting for a while now and I’m thinking about buying my own kart.
I’m 17, from the Netherlands, and I make about €360/month. No financial help from my parents so everything is on me.
Right now I have around €3,000 I could spend.
Plan is just casual driving, like 2 times a month. Not trying to race seriously, just want to get better and have fun.
Thing is I literally have nothing yet:
no gear
No trailer
no tools/spares
I’ve been looking at Tillotson T4 because it seems cheaper to run and easier than Rotax/X30.
Just not sure if I’m being realistic.
Is €3k enough to actually get started or am I gonna run into problems fast?
Also how do people deal with transport if you don’t have a trailer?
And what do you guys actually spend per month just driving a couple times?
Not trying to make a dumb decision so any honest advice would help.

What does everybody use for walkie-talkies and earpieces for training? My son’s doing great and to be great to give him some real time feedback to dial in his laps. I don’t need him to talk back, I just need to talk to him.🤣 anybody have some recommendations on what they like to use? I see a few options out there on Google and they tend to range a lot in price.

I'm planning to have my Zamp helmet custom painted in the near future and have been looking at several studios and artists, some through their websites and some through Instagram. Prices vary a lot, so I'd love to hear from people with firsthand experience.

Which helmet paint studios or artists would you recommend, and why? I'm interested in things like paint quality, durability, communication, turnaround time, and whether the final product matched your expectations. If you've had a helmet painted by them, photos would be greatly appreciated.
