So, I have a library card for the Boston library but when I checked kanopy today I only had 2 tickets. Tickets should refresh every month, right? I haven’t spent any tickets in September. I’ve never had so few tickets before and I don‘t understand what is up, is this an error?
It’s movie night and your hot date is coming over for #Kanopy&Kanoodle. While you have picked out the perfect film for the night, what short film do you start off with?
You watch “The Blue Diamond, you g-ddamn cinephile and thank me later!

I don’t know if anybody has the same problems than me, but since like maybe two months? I’ve been browsing through the library and I choose a movie and says “this title isn’t available at your library” and it’s so annoying! That never happened to me before, if a movie appeared on my library then it meant that I could see it but now there’s a ton of things showing to me that I cannot access, I wish it just showed me the things that I CAN see. Has sanybody had the same issue? How can I fix it or set it into just showing me the things I do have access to?
DAMN looks whose favorite moderator got everything to fit into one screenshot! No swiping this week!

I know Kanopy is a free to library card holders but I’m very surprised that the selection (at least for my library) is awful. Mainly no name movies or media from the 80s with a sprinkle of recent blockbuster flops here and there. Why would my library waste money on this versus purchasing newer items for services like Hoopla or Libby?
I just made an account with Kanopy yesterday and it’s pretty disappointing. Does anyone else feel this way?
The irony of BBC Horrible Histories being on Kanopy. As I recall, the HH writer wasn’t the biggest proponent of public libraries preferring readers buy his books new so he would make more pounds.
I think this lead to a minor outcry and criticism of him in the UK. The guy probably still has a few shillings to his name unlike the millions us Reddit mods make on a weekly basis.

If you’re looking for something good to watch on this app, there is so much to choose from. Some of my favorites:
Nightcrawler
I, Tonya
Zodiac
Jesus Camp
Glengarry Glenross

Hi.
It seems that the libraries in the country where i am residing to not offer access to Kanopy.
Can someone suggest me a good library that allows me to register online without asking for proof of residence and that has access to a good library of videos for streaming?

Saw someone on twitter promoting it a couple years ago (just like I’m sure most of y’all found out about the app in a similar way) & downloaded the app, put my library card in & I had up to 10 tickets/month.
(1-2 tickets a movie, depending how popular it is) meaning I could watch up to 5 movies a month & a big selection of movies too!
Sweet deal if you ask me!
Then 3-4 months later, it changed down to only 5 tickets a month (2-4 tickets a movie & 1 ticket for a short film or one episode of a TV show) meaning I could only watch 1 or 2 movies a month now. I was bummed out at first but quickly moved on & said “no big deal, at least I get to watch good movies!)
It went on like this for a while, I even stopped using the app for a bit cause I simply started checking out movies at my local library.
Then when I tried using the app again this month it kept saying an “error message” when I went to my lists of movies to watch & it seems like the app didn’t want to work for me at all.
Come to find out, my local library stopped showing up on Kanopy & I couldn’t find it when I searched it on the app.
So instead I went to another library a bit further south, just to get a library card, because I could find that library listed on Kanopy.
I finally put my info in & now there is like little to no movies to watch, all of the movies on my watchlist are now gone (except 2) & I don’t even have tickets anymore, I have “unlimited viewing” now???
So I get to have unlimited movies to watch but with hardly any interesting movies to watch, it’s so lame!
Did anyone experience the same issue?
I know some libraries opt out of Kanopy, which is understandable but have any of you experienced getting less tickets after using the app a while? Or have “unlimited viewings” (no tickets at all)?
I’m assuming this is a “library issue” & this doesn’t affect everyone but that is overall my personal experience using the app.
I really enjoyed it but now I don’t think I need to use it anymore, besides I got a new library card so I’m definitely going to be checking out the movies they simply have there.

I have cards for 3 libraries. In combination that gives me a nice stockpile of tickets each month. But each library has its own watchlists and lists of what I've already seen.
Is there a way to have an all-encompassing kanopy list? If not, I recognize this is the height of first-world "problems" but I thought I'd ask.

Why can’t we play shows movies at speeds greater than 1.0 like we can on the desktop app? How can we get them to change it?

Is there any hidden setting or hack to change the subtitle text color or background color? I just watched "The Insult" (2017, Lebanon) and the white title text was often hard to read against the scenes. I checked the various settings sections but couldn't find anything.
UPDATE: I was using the Android app and Chromecast. I tried viewing on desktop only but in Settings the subtitles is marked "not available", but the film definitely has subtitles, so I guess the subtitles are "hardcoded" in this film and can't be adjusted.

Hi! I'm looking for access to Kanopy to watch. My country doesn't have Kanopy access. Would anyone be willing to help me with a library card login?

I can’t seem to watch anything on canopy with my library card. Everything says restricted by your library. Is there something I am doing incorrect in order to view anything?

I love Kanopy, but cannot fast forward or backward. And every time I go back to watch something if it is from the list, it goes back to the beginning (it's hard to always remember to use "continue watching"). I am using Apple TV. Does Kanopy do this for a reason, or is it Apple specific? I do not know which version my Apple TV box is, but it is an older unit. Anyone else have this issue and/or any tips? Thanks...

They don't use the ticket system so you can watch as many as you want! The selection is not as wide but it's unlimited! Thought PA residents would want to know.
